“Just got my first 3D printer, what should I build?

Hello everyone, I wanted to share my experience with my new 3D printer and also ask for suggestions on what I should print.

It’s been exactly two days since my printer arrived, and I find myself a bit lost not in terms of how to use it, but in deciding what path I should follow.

I don’t want to just print action figures or random useful tools. I want to build real projects. I genuinely want to go all in on this world.

My question is: where do you guys find inspiration, and what project would you recommend I start with?

Ender Motherboard 4.2.7

I update my ender 3 v2 to Motherboard 4.2.7 due to some problems with the previous version. Not my display is giving me options I never seen before. Is there some user manual out there that tells me what all these options are? I'm kinda new to this and now, don't even know how to set the Z-Axis or level the bed. Can anyone please help? I would appreciate it greatly.

Why didn't the numbers print

My first 3D print in at least 3 years, so still relearning. I did the 0.2mm layers and 15% infill, 2 walls. I used Cura to slice it, i have an Ender 3. I love it and will make the others, but wondering why the numbers don't show, I can't see them in the Cura preview either.

The warping is killing me

Alright guys, I need a bit of help. A few of my prints are warping. I print on a raft, I use hairspray on the bed to keep it down and it seems to keep it down but as soon as I break it loose it warps. I dont have an enclosure but the room it's printing in is pretty still. I use PLA from amazon, ender3pro (not modded), and the stl is one I designed on fusion (so I'm fairly certain its flat 😅). The infill is pretty light. I think its about 15 percent cubes, I check and level the bed before each print. I'll be happy to answer any more questions that might help fix it!

anyone know how long you have left on a print?

im using the ender 3 pro and theres a little sd icon, but all its telling me is how long the print has been going not how long it has left. Is there a setting im missing? I use programs like cura to see the time but i want to know how long i have left.

Failed print bent the plate measuring doohickey (ignore cat)

As the title mentions, a failed print caused this metal piece to scrape against the print and bent it. Does anyone have experience repairing this? Will I have to buy an entire new head?

What's up with this wide spread?

New to the community, and have done 4 prints so far. This was some PLA+ and I ran a keychain size one before this without issues. This one still has the webbing stuck to the bottom of the feet and links and doesn't just melt away with a heat gun like stringing does. Using an Ender 3 s1pro, I think I was running 220c at the nozzle and 60c on the bed.

Skr Mini E3 v2.0 usb not working

I just ordered it yesterday off of amazon and got it today and installed it. tried flashing to klipper firmware and the usb wont show up on my klipper host for some reason. doesnt look damaged or anything. any ideas would be helpful. I did message bigtreetech on amazon to see what can be done.

Issues with ender 3 pro/sprite extruder/BL touch/marlin firmware

I’ve had an ender 3 pro for 7 years that I’ve updated over time and have no issues with. I bought this printer off marketplace for $25(figured I’d use it for spare parts). It came in parts and I learned during assembly the screen was broken. Bought a new screen and figured I would try a sprite direct drive. It came with the BL touch so I figured why not and threw it on too.

It seems that even though I am saving the settings after re-configuring that it is resetting just a little(1mm) too high after rehoming. I have tried adjusting the z offset but it doesn’t seem to fix it. It also seems to have under extrusion issues… I’m using creality print and have the printer setting as an ender 3v2.

Can someone help me figure these issues out? More than happy to share more info as needed! Thanks in advance :)

Printer won't read new specific files

My printer won't read an stl file that uses the same objects as another stl file which it can read and print, the only thing I changed on the new file is the scale of 3 objects. I've tried shorter file names no numbers or spaces and nothing fixes it. I've tried a test file by copying another file already on the card and the test file shows up on the printer

Does ender 3 pro 4.2.2 still work

I got my ender 3 pro working again after not using it for a while. I got the new slicer software and believe I updated the firmware on the printer but I still can’t print. It heats up moves to position than completely skips through the print and says completed after about 20 seconds. Any fixes?

I was wondering if anyone could help me with making a firmware for a ender 3 pro with a probe and double axis as well as the pro nozzle. I had one for without the pro nozzle that worked fine and now I don’t know where it went and don’t know how to really make one. I’ve tried YouTube tutorials but they are split up and I don’t know what to do. If someone could help that would be amazing.

Print failed 1/2 through

I am new to the 3d printer game and I have been reviewing the boards and watching YouTube but one of my prints keeps ending up like this. I am using UltiMaker Cura as my slicer program. And I am trying printing with the super quality - 0.12 stock setting with a minor adjustment to the temp (215*) and then I changed the support to be anything over 25* .

What am I doing wrong? Why is it failing 1/2 way through the print?
