Ender 3 V3 SE PSU fan runs at 100% immediately after power on

Hi everyone,
I have an Creality Ender-3 V3 SE and recently the power supply fan started spinning at full speed immediately after turning the printer on.

Before, the PSU fan only turned on when the power supply got hot enough, which seemed normal. Now it runs at maximum speed all the time from startup.

What I already checked:

  • Replaced the fan with a new one
  • The issue is still there
  • Printer otherwise works normally
  • No obvious burned components on the PSU board

So I think the problem may be:

  • fan control transistor/MOSFET,
  • thermal sensor,
  • or PSU fan controller failure.

Has anyone had the same issue on the stock PSU?
Did you repair the board or just replace the power supply?

[HELP] Ender-3 V3 SE CR Touch triggers but Z-axis keeps going down

Hi all,

I'm having a strange issue on my Ender-3 V3 SE. I bought my printer from eBay last April (Refurbished one). Everything used to work fine until two weeks ago. During Leveling or Auto Home, the X and Y axes move correctly, but when it moves to probe the Z axis with the CR Touch:

  1. The CR Touch deploys the probe normally (blue light) 2.When the probe touches the bed, the light turns red (as expected) 3.But then the nozzle continues to descend, eventually crashing into the bed, and the Z motor keeps trying to push down, causing grinding noises.

✅ What I’ve tried (and replaced):

1.Replaced the CR Touch with a brand new one 2. Replaced the CR Touch cable (5-pin, Sensor to Sprite nozzle daughterboard) 3.Replaced the Sprite nozzle daughterboard (E3V3-NOZZLE V1.5) 4.Updated to the official Creality firmware 5.Re-seated the main flat ribbon cable on both ends (mainboard & hotend)

Still no Z probe trigger is received by the mainboard.

Has anyone experienced this?

My next setps will be:

  1. Replace the Motherboard. I just ordered one from Amazon.
  2. The last trail will be replace the main ribbon cable. However, I cannot see it on Amazon. I just found out the one for Ender-3 S1. Could I use Ender-3 S1 cable for Ender 3 V3SE? Or, Is the main ribbon cable available anywhere online (USA)?

Thanks in advance — I attach the video.

I keep getting clogs in my extruder like these I've tried

I've recently stopped printing for roughly a month and after coming back I now get clogs like these in my extruder shortly after starting a print. I am using pla filament at 200c

First 3D Printer - Creality Ender V3 SE

Only my 10th print and brand new to 3d printing. Really happy with how these came out. I'm sure I have plenty of improvements to make. Any suggestions welcome!

My little adventure with multicolor printing

I told this to my sister and then my fiancee, but neither of them seemed to appreciate it. So I gotta try the 3D printing community.

Last night I was doing my first proper multi color print on Ender 3 V3 SE, I say proper because I have done two in the past, but they all had just a single color change, this had multiple. Everything started off great, I was properly swapping filament each time. But I noticed that it did an over-extrusion (creating blob) each time it went to the prime tower. Those blobs added up to where you could hear the extruder going over them, but I decided to keep going since there were only one or two more color changes left.

I did my last color change and thought that it was all over, i was so wrong... As the extruder went to the model I realized it was missing it, it was unaligned on the X axis by about 10mm. I paused the print and tried to manually move the extruder, which didn't work. So I turned off the machine, move the extruder all the way to the left. Turned it back on and resumed the print, everything seemed to be back to normal...

20 minutes later I came back to check if everything is going well, only to see that nothing has changed. The extruder head was moving as it's supposed to, but nothing was coming out. As there was no visible clog from the outside, I touched the filament only for it to come loose. I (probably) didn't push it all the way in... Not wanting to give up on the print I let the machine run, while I attempt to edit the gcode in notepad. Since the last color change was on layer 7, I removed everything between the first layer and Z:1.4. Turned the machine off, remove the card, copied the new gcode and then let it do it's thing. It actually worked. Everything was back to normal after that.

Ps. I'll post my (default) prime tower settings in a comment, if someone can help me figure ot what wrong. I think the blob appears on the first extrusion after each color change, the other lines it prints seem normal.

TLDR: over-extrusion on prime tower caused blobs, which made the extruder unaligned. My mistake on the last filament swap, caused it to run for 20 minutes without printing anything. A gcode edit saved the print.

Really fine stringing issue.

All,

I just purchased a new Ender 3 V3. I have a couple V2s already. I have it pretty dialed in but I can t get rid of this really fine stringing. It is almost like a hairy fuzz. Both of my V2 machines print it perfectly.

I slowed it down a bit. Slowed the acceleration down a lot. Upped the retraction to 6mm.

Nothing I have done has changed the way it prints.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Help with this problem

I wanted help with this problem. I’m not sure if it’s a flow issue or a bed leveling issue. I tried leveling it using the screws, but the bottom-right corner, which in theory I should loosen, is already almost completely loose, and the top-right corner, which I should tighten, is already fully tightened. I’m not exactly sure what to do.

Bed leveling question

To get this more level I need to add a shim to the spacer on the right, rear side, correct? That screw is already as loose as I'm comfortable making it (it was .60 before loosening)

I Think I’m Starting to Get The Hang of This

I’ve had it for about 2 weeks now. Knew nothing about printing before the seller accepting $60 for a basically brand new SE with the filament still. Took 5 tries to print a benchy, now I probably have 50+ hours of print time on this thing. Had fun learning why vase mode causes problems thanks to auto resume.

Started to see why the filament spool on top can cause some shaking during printing so printed a side spool holder, then realized it was a little loose so printed a reinforcement, then noticed it was hitting the screen so printed a relocation bracket, then saw it was pulling a little weird so printed a side filament guide that broke first print so then printed a second design that is holding strong. I love 3d printing.

Do not buy unbranded chinese bearings

https://reddit.com/link/1th6u1z/video/a00trx05oz1h1/player

I bought a set of RJ4JP-01-08 polymer bearings on aliexpress. My goal was to reduce noise and replace the old y-axis linear bearings that were already worn out. At first glance, everything was working and the noise was surprisingly low, the problem is that unfortunately the tolerances left something to be desired and the bed was vibrating a lot, as you can see in the video. Moral of the story, I needed to buy new conventional bearings to at least have the printer functional again.

So...after over 200 prints, it is starting to do this, which is then proceeded by a lot of clogging on the nozzle. Will open it up by the weekend. Any tips? Bed also does not seem to stick as good anymore, needs a bit of glue

Issue with printer, help needed!

After about a year of not touching it, I want to try to fix my printer again. I posted on this subreddit about a year ago with this issue, but I wanna start fresh. As I explained briefly in the video, my printer tries to auto home and rams into the left side. I factory reset it over a year ago and now it’s stuck in the first auto home sequence as if I had just put it together and turned it on. Because of this, I can’t get to any of the settings until this sequence completes (at least as far as I know). If anyone has any suggestions of what I should try, please let me know. I just wanna have fun and print stuff again as I’m sure you’ll all understand :)

Marshmello Dummy 13

This is my first dummy 13 I have printed. I printed it yesterday and made it today. I printed it with the original head but realised it was kinda lowkey overused with these dummy 13s so I spent some time finding heads and accessories. The guns failed but the heads and vests and other stuff came out fine. How is this for my first dummy 13? I only started printing three months ago.

First time printing, first test print, things I should do to improve quality?

I know two of my corners are in the blue zone and need to try a couple different fixes but other than that, do you guys notice anything I should look into changing or fixing?

Slicer gives inside lines

Ok, ok, I know it's not the best picture, but I was in a rush!

Let me explain what happens:

I created a spool in Fusion 360. On the inside of the spool is a hole for a heat insert.

I changed the XY hole compensation to 0.15 because that is what I need to get everything the correct size.

But ever since I changed this to 0.15 from 0, it makes this line on the inside of a cylinder that should be without this line.

Since it is my first Fusion 360 object, I'm afraid I modeled something wrong, but I don't know what the problem could be.

Is there anyone here who is able to help me fix this? Or someone who can tell me where to find the solution to this?

Thanks!
