Ender-3 V3 SE/KE Ceramic Heating Block Kit question about thermal grease

Ender-3 V3 SE/KE Ceramic Heating Block Kit question about thermal grease

Has anyone else purchased this heating block kit?

It comes with a package of thermal grease but no information whatsoever on where, how, or when to apply it. I've checked their tutorial videos, chatted with their ai support, and talked with a human customer support person and have not gotten any applicable information on how to apply it or if I even need to apply it.

Normally, I would just install the kit and ignore the grease. That's actually what I did two months ago when I originally bought the kit. After that kit was destroyed by melted filament, Amazon support had me order the kit again. So now to potentially avoid the same issue, I'm going out of my way to find as much information as I can about this phantom thermal grease.

Tutorial link where others commented about the thermal grease:

It starts up tries to set up and just keeps going and gets stuck

Upgraded Hot End and Now Filament Is Twisting Inside Head

SOLVED!
Users u/Wivi2013 and u/maybeiamspicy were able to help me solve the problem. The answer is that I did not install the PTFE tube when I changed the hot end assembly. Thank you guys!

Original Post:

Hello r/Ender3V3SE ! I am having a bit of a weird issue that I haven't seen before on this model - neither online nor in person, and was curious if anyone has had a similar problem and knows how to fix it. Essentially, after a few problems with my original hot end and a replacement stock hot end, I upgraded to the (wait for it) Upgraded Creality Ender 3 V3 SE hot end. After this, everything seemed to be smooth sailing and my issue appeared to be resolved, however, after a few minutes of printing perfectly, extrusion stops and when I open up the head, I find the filament twisted like this inside.

The Issue:
Filament is twisting between the extruder and the hot end.

A Little More Background:
Recently, after a month of having absolutely zero issues at all with my printer (everything 100% stock), I started having issues with under-extrusion and nozzle clogging. I am not one to over-tinker, so once I tried basic troubleshooting (unclogging nozzle, changing nozzle, changing settings, etc), I just replaced the hot end with another one from Creality. The new hot end never worked and wasn't able to extrude anything regardless of temperature (at this point, I have not messed with any of the other settings in my slicer, since I have printed hundreds of objects with no issues).

A little frustrated at this point, I decided to just go for the upgrade instead of messing around with what appeared to be a defective part. After installation, I started a test print, everything looked 100% good when it suddenly just stopped printing after about a quarter inch (height). I figured this might be an issue with my filament and switched the ABS to PETG, slightly changed settings and had the same result. On both, the filament eventually twisted up between the extruder and hot end assembly. I have run into almost every issue you can imagine and am generally pretty handy, but I have no idea why this is happening here.

My idea for What to Do Next:
I have already purchased a replacement extruder, assuming that the issue might be coming from there? However, if anyone has any ideas or has seen this before, I would be very happy to hear it.

Settings:
Filament: I tried a generic PETG and a generic ABS with the same results
Nozzle Temperature: 245 (first layer); 235 for others
Printing Speed: All Settings Under 15mm/s (yes, I print very slow)
Slicer: Creality Print

Specs:
New Hot End: Ender 3 V3 SE Official Hot End Upgrade
*Everything else is stock

If more details are needed for slicer settings to diagnose this, I would be more than happy to provide them, however, as I mentioned above, I had my slicer fine-tuned and printed hundreds of things before this issue - which is why I am inclined to believe that it is a hardware problem and not necessarily software. But I'm open to anything at this point!

Does anyone knows why it does this?

I already tried changing SD, and using other slicers. The thing is that sometimes it prints fine and sometimes it does this

Printer repair. Information for everyone.

Goodnight! Not long ago, I wrote about a malfunction when the nozzle of my printer was losing support and the print quality was terrible. I found a solution. Maybe it will help someone. I decided to check the belt tension. I downloaded a guitar tuner and adjusted the Z‑axis belt. Its frequency was 103 Hz. I did the same with the bed belt — it was 80 Hz. Using an Allen key, I increased the belt tension to 107 Hz, and the printer started working as it did before!

E3V3SE NEBULA

Hi, everyone!

Could you please provide detailed print settings for the E3V3SE + NEBULA PAD on Creality Print?

The Nebula Pad is rooted to prevent layers from shifting, but the print quality is still not great. What can I change for better results?

I can’t figure out how to add ender 3 v3 se to Creality print.

The QR code doesn’t scan and there’s now way to add it to C Print. Am I missing something??

Upgraded to Navaismo firmware but it started to do this to the surfaces on the left of the bed

Hey guys, after a bit of effort I managed to install the Navaismo firmware and it looked like it was going to be smooth sailing but my flow rate tests have been going badly. I already calibrated the e-steps, the PID's, the bed points with the Z-offset with the sheet of paper and the temperature of the filament but idk what else can I try for this

Printer makes rattling noise mid print

I’ve noticed this problem happens mid print after a certain height is reached I’ve also noticed weird. I’ve got no clue as to why this is happening; anyone knows what causes this?

Ender-3 V3 SE C13 + Nebula Smart Kit: Marlin to Klipper and finally working properly

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share my experience with the Creality Ender-3 V3 SE + Nebula Smart Kit, because I spent quite some time getting everything working properly.

My printer is an Ender-3 V3 SE with the C13 motherboard.

The problem

Originally, my printer was running Marlin, and the G-code I was using was also generated for a Marlin-based setup.

After installing the Nebula Smart Kit, I decided to move the printer to Klipper.

The important part was that we couldn't simply treat it as the same Marlin setup. The printer configuration and the way Klipper handles the commands needed to be taken into account.

What I changed

The main change was moving from:

Marlin → Klipper

Then I adjusted the printer configuration and the slicer settings for the new Klipper setup.

For my V3 SE, I ended up using:

  • Ender-3 V3 SE
  • C13 motherboard
  • Nebula Smart Kit
  • Klipper
  • Maximum acceleration: 2500 mm/s²
  • Maximum speed: 180 mm/s

I deliberately started with reasonable values instead of trying to run the printer at extreme speeds immediately.

Testing

After getting the Klipper setup working correctly, I started testing the printer.

The result was much better and more stable.

I even tested increasing the printing speed to 150%, and the printer handled it very well.

That was the point where I considered the setup finally working properly.

My recommendation

If you have an Ender-3 V3 SE C13 and are trying to use the Nebula Smart Kit, don't assume that a Marlin G-code/setup will behave exactly the same after moving to Klipper.

The transition from Marlin to Klipper was an important part of getting my printer working properly.

For my machine, 180 mm/s maximum speed and 2500 mm/s² acceleration have worked very well.

Also, be careful when using guides made for the C14 revision. My printer is C13, so I would not blindly copy C14 configurations onto a C13 machine.

I'm sharing this because I know there are other V3 SE owners trying to get their Nebula setup working properly.

If anyone has a C13 V3 SE and wants to know exactly what I changed during the Marlin → Klipper conversion, I'll be happy to share the configuration and the steps I followed.

Hopefully this helps someone else save a few hours of troubleshooting! 🔧🖨️

First layer print here. Tpu that has been dried. Why the ruff texture. This is not new.

Any advice. Oh and I just finished lubricating it and cleaning it up.

Hotend kit I've found

I've found this hotend kit called "Creality Ender 3 v3 SE hotend kit" and it says it heats up faster and up to 260c. Do any of you know about this kit? I can't find any other kits available where I live so this is my only choice, I was wondering if its worth it and an easy swap or does it need mods? There is also a cheaper choice without the heatsink.

Nozzle after some layers stops extruding

Hi everyone, I need your help.

After starting a print, everything seems fine, but suddenly (sometimes during the first layer, other times afterward at any % progress) the nozzle stops extruding and the printer continues to move.

The result is a piece cut in half. I can't figure out why: I removed the outer casing and checked that the fan was working. There was some dust and it wouldn't always turn on, so I cleaned it and it worked again (the one on the shell).

Then I manually cleaned the extruder with the thin metal rod that comes with it. On the next print, the piece was half finished, marking 100% print, and continued to move without extruding.

I only print PLA, an Elegoo that I've already used several times.

Thank you.

Why is this happening to me?

Every time I print a part with a smooth curve like the one in the picture using CooBeen filament, there is a raised line or two in a random spot. However, when I use eSUN filament, this does not happen.

Do you have any ideas?

how did you guys find the best settings?

Guys you all just add the preset ender 3 v3 se settings from your slicer and start printing?

I ran temp tower and retraction test and tweaked the settings, the output was not that I want.
how can I find the (really) best setting?
