Tried and true tips for hearts and coins?

I've been playing a month: one character, 4 outfits, basic home decor, and a couple snacks has me at $500.00. I love the game but to reach my full desired potential, at this rate I'm looking at $3-5,000.00 a month! No. Not at all.

I feel like any game, no matter how good, shouldn't cost more than a console.

How do you all Enjoy, ahem, Enjoy?

How do I get characters to join my crew? I had one team member and he left! 😩 I’ve wasted so money asking all my characters I have connections with and they keep telling me no!!!!
