Need some advice on a EY India recruitment issue!

I recently interviewed for a role with EY India for one of their banking clients for Sr Consultant Role.

During the first HR call, I was told that the budget was lower than my expectation, so I said I could not proceed.

After around 10 days, the recruiter called me again and said the budget had been increased and my expectation now fit their budget. So I agreed to continue.

I completed all the interview rounds and was told that my feedback was positive and that I was selected.
After that, the TA team started the documentation process and I submitted all the required documents.

I had also clearly told them from the beginning that my notice period is 2 months.

Now, after completing the whole process, HR is saying that my expectation does not fit the band of Sr Consultant and they are looking for an immediate joiner.
While these were things we had already discussed before I started the interviews.

The HR person is also not giving me a clear answer and is not responding to my calls properly.
Unfortunately, most of the discussion about salary, budget and notice period was verbal.

I feel this was not handled professionally, especially because I had to take leaves and spend a lot of time for the interview process, really surprised to see how broken is the hiring process with big4. It removed all my excitement to join the big4, I thought it’s very professional environment, but it appears that the reviews on the different website about the EY completely inline with what I experienced.

What would you guys suggest?
Should I escalate this internally and ask for a proper explanation? Do I have any rights in this situation even though most of the discussions were verbal?
Or should I just move on and take this as a lesson?
Would really appreciate your views, especially from people who have faced something similar in India.

Parental Leave +3 wks vacation?

EY allows 3 continuous weeks of vacation time after the 16 weeks of paid parental leave.

Is it typical for people to take those extra 3 weeks?
Or is that something that might be frowned upon?

Initially I was thinking that maybe they added that to allow people in certain situations (medical or other personal reasons) to have more time off if needed but I cant find anything that confirms nor denies that assumption.

16 weeks is amazing. I'm grateful and have nothing to complain about. But if I can tack on another 3, why wouldn't I?
