PSA, check your tire pressure

I do E-scooter tires. This is my collection of run flat valve cores. All of these came from units that had NEVER had their tires checked. It is mostly brand new scooters. They get built in China, then put on a boat for a few weeks, then sit in a warehouse for a few more, then get drop shipped to the customer. The customer unboxes and starts riding, they figure, "it's brand new, why would the tires not be filled?" 6 weeks later they're calling me for a flat tire. They didn't catch a nail, didn't run over broken glass, they just rode around on low air pressure until they destroyed the tire.

Listen. The only part of your scooter that should touch the ground is the tires. Often the only suspension you have is the air in the tires. Small tires lose air faster. Without a rider most of these scooters don't have enough weight to collapse a flat, so often you cannot tell by looking at it. You have to physically check with a gauge. Get one. Bicycle pumps work great. Motorcycle safety teaches that you should check tire pressure every single time you get on the bike. E-scooters are no different.

Check your tires!!

Do the bare minimum. Your scooter will thank you.

The second and third pictures are what happens when you don't check your tires. The sidewall bends and rubs against itself every time it rotates. Every time it bends it damages the rubber and the cords further. Eventually it just fails.

Why do people still act like riding an Escooters is weird?

Picked this up recently and started using it for short runs and honestly… it just makes sense. Quick, cheap, no parking stress. But I still get those looks sometimes like I’m doing something goofy. Meanwhile I’m just cruising past traffic.

I guess part of it is people assume they’re all slow or toy-like until you actually ride one. I’m on a basic iScooter i8 right now and it’s way more practical than I expected. 350W motor, about 18 mph top speed and ~12 mile range which is perfect for quick errands.

It’s also super light around 26 lbs and folds in seconds. Feels like people judge it more than they’ve actually tried it. Is this just a regional thing or do you guys get the same reaction?

It said that it can go 45kmh but mine only goes 25 and it only has an 800w motor idk if that’s due to policies and it really is 1250W peak and the app it came with does not let me put the speed up I need help

AITA for getting upset at a gym regarding my helmet?

I write an E scooter to and from the gym because it’s about 2 miles away from where I live. I use a modular helmet because my scooter desk go pretty fast and I am on the road with cars and I’d rather be safe than sorry. with that being said, my gym has very slim lockers, and I cannot fit my helmet into the locker. i’m not comfortable, leaving my helmet on top of the lockers. Because I don’t know if they clean it. I don’t know if somebody might try to put them on their head or try to steal it for years. I noticed that people were leaving their helmets at the front without issue. Today, I asked the front to hold it for me, and I got some pushback. I didn’t like the tone of the delivery, so I said something. The manager then proceeded to approach me and tell me that they can no longer hold my helmet at the front. Moving forward. Due to liability reasons. I understand that, so I told him exactly what I said before- my helmet doesn’t fit in a locker, and I’m not comfortable, leaving it on top where people might be able to steal it. What is a solution from you then where can I put my helmet? i was told “there are no accommodations or solutions.” so there was some back-and-forth a little bit of arguing. I won’t lie, considering that I was trying to look for a solution to my problem and I’m being told straight up. “There is no solution to my problem.”
There was no effort to find a solution. There was no effort to compromise. Just a flat out. I’m not helping you now. Again, I understand the liability portion of it. However, I have no other place to put my helmet without it. Possibly getting stolen. I just wanna know if I’m the asshole for arguing, and trying to find a solution to a problem that I’m effected by. The only reason I’m not keen on getting a backpack for the helmet is because I already have a gym pack back full of equipment, so essentially the helmet was just supposed to stay at the front so it could be safe. I write an E scooter, so there isn’t really a place for me to lock my helmet on tomei scooter. I just find it. Really unacceptable to not really have a accommodation or to not even try to find one. They’re multiple offices. That aren’t being used all times of the day. You mean to tell me that we can’t leave my helmet in there for the hour. I’m working out. i just want to know if i’m being stuck up or not considering there was NO effort to find a solution

I want to start off with please don’t comment “unrealistic” blah blah blah or anything unwanted.
Please tell me any great scooters with stability and everything that makes riding it safe that’s under 500 anything above is strongly undesired but manageable of 600 but absolutely no more unless it’s a tad bit more. Thank you

First e-scooter

Hi guys so I'm wondering if I should get the Kukirin T3 as my first escooter or the Ausom L2 Dual or Ausom Gosoul 2 pro dual? The T3 is 800w single motor and the l2 dual is 800w×2 and the Gosoul I think is 1000w×2. What should I get between these three (considering I weigh 110kg)

Best scooter for a construction worker carrying tools?

I have about a mile, mile and a half walk everyday from the job site to my car, sometimes carrying tools for a total weight of about 220-240 pounds, the commute out is uphill, curious what recommendations for around 400 dollar range or if I should wait and spend more?
