Just moved to Florida - want to explore by way of camping
Hello everyone
I just moved to Orlando Florida recently for my job and have never lived in the state. I’ve visited for vacations and what not
I plan on living here longterm and wanted to travel around the entire state and learn it all to see where I’d like to live most and also just to simply know where I live
Also felt like it’d be a great opportunity to find myself a tad in everything lol.
What I want is to go around the whole state - different city/area every few weeks or so - just on weekends since I work
I have a tent that sets up in the bed of my truck with matress and all so I can basically set up shop anywhere.
I want to go around and see all the nature and i especially want a great view and isolation
I’ve been reading about dispersed camping and I understand there’s a lot of rules and regulations when it comes to just driving out into the woods or nature anywhere u want.
I was more so just curious on if anyone had any recommendations around the state where I can off-road and set up my campsite isolated in nature - I don’t want to be surrounded by rvs and other campers and cookie cutter campgrounds I want to go explore and be alone with myself out in nature
I especially imagine just pulling up to an isolated little opening to a body of water where I can just pull right up to and camp next to the water and do whatever all day.
If anybody knows any spots tips, or recommendations or any sort of advice I’d totally appreciate it!
First time visiting Florida and I saw an 'Alligator Warning' sign right next to a public walking path... am I supposed to just walk past like this is normal?! 😭🐊
I was taking a morning walk here in Florida and saw a sign warning about gators in a pond right next to the public trail!
I literally stood there for 2 minutes staring at a gator near the water thinking it was a fake plastic statue... until it blinked at me. Meanwhile, local Floridians were casually jogging past it listening to music like it was a squirrel! 😭
As a New Yorker, I am terrified. Do they jump?! Do they run fast?! What is the actual local rule here... do I run or just ignore them? 🥺
I just posted but fuck it we ball. Save the glades. Anhinga for state bird.
We will use a public domain photo for now but still let's get the anhinga ball rolling. Save our Everglades. Save our reefs. Save our freaking animals dude. It's our duty too, It's getting bad.
Voter awareness we got to vote vote vote if we say we care.
Vote for everything and everyone. Block/push through. let's just vote.
We will do everything within the realms of possibilities to protect our glades. And it begins with changing what represents Florida.
And my vote goes to the anhinga.
I don't think I've seen such a successful hunter like the Anhinga. If you look at one long enough high chance it will catch a fish.
Our critters have taken a huge hit down here in Florida.
And if we don't take a stand for what belongs to us.
Then the anhinga will.
Anhinga for Florida State Bird
Save the glades
Mangrove Kayak Tour
My partner and I have a mangrove kayaking tour booked for tomorrow, but I’m starting to get second thoughts after how miserable I’ve heard things are this time of year. We also have an airboat in the morning and we’ll definitely do that, but i’m not sure about the kayaking. We would lose all money booked for it. Any advice?
Anhinga for state Bird
Let's keep it coming nearly 100
Wild Florida needs representation at the ballot.
Assistance please.
So I used to have beautiful photos and videos of Anhingas in both the wild and residential areas. May I ask for the assistance of allowing me to use some of your Anhinga content? I am but a small voice, but I will credit your photo, ofc.
You see, the Everglades are under attack, and something deep tells me the Anhinga may be one of the answers in our battle against forces who may not have wild Florida in their best interest.
As a Homestead boy and a true knight of the realm, it is my responsibility and our responsibility to do...
Anything.
So please, anything you may have of the Anhinga, I would greatly appreciate. It's together how we will be making a difference in the coming times.

Question about Python catching program.
Is there anyone where who works with SFWMD/Python bounty program? Been trying to get some answers to some questions through the website but no replies.
