Does tongue have the highest damage potential in the game now?

Scaling your feeding speed to 999% (very possible in endless with POIs) and getting poisonous saliva with toxic sequestration for max poison gives you absolutely busted damage in endless. On top of revenge scaling and ambush predator, is tongue the attack that lets you scale the highest possible damage now?

Zen achievement stuck

I'm probably just dumb, but any tips for the Zen achievement? I thought I did good, but apparently I took damage from the meteors, and SOMEHOW DID DAMAGE to the red insect things mid-late game. This is driving me nuts since it was on Pressure 1 too...

Any tips, suggestions, or some way to get the splicing options to change without having to go at least someway through a run???

Suggestion for Charmed Enemies.

I appreciate that they won’t steal food from you, this is a great thing. However, if you have the Vegan Mutation, Charmed enemies should be allowed to eat fish and meat around you. Not like you can eat it anyway!

Not that much is crab

I feel like for a game called everything is crab, there aren't many crab things. The bosses are all crab related, yes. But there are only 9 evolutions that have an effect on the carcinization stat and they aren't needed to get a good run. The whole meme with carcinization is that everything becomes a crab but you can get along just fine without a single crab evolution. I don't want to complain really, I love this game. I just feel like it's a sort of missed opportunity not to have more incentive to go crab or more ways to do so. Maybe I'm missing something.

Help! On Extinction 7 and I don't think I can die anymore

Or rather, I don't even know if I can take damage. Lol

My attacks are doing 12-14,000 per hit at this point, and most bosses go down in a couple hits.

1.2 Teasers: Day 5 (the finale!)

Less than 24 hours to go until 1.2 releases!

In the meantime, I'd like everyone to meet Darwin: The (not always so) friendly neighbourhood spider-crab-spiney turtle with ripped abs blob thingy! This ability can be an absolute blast to play! I'm sure you'll also latch onto it tomorrow 😉

Discovery about Projectile Tounge

This single Evolution absolutely humiliates Crabtaur, and theoretically every other boss. Is Crabtaur about to charge at you? Fire the tongue and stun her. Is Shellephant doing her annoying roll attack? Tongue stun. Krabaroo comboing you too hard? Tongue stun. It's very funny to see these supposed apex predators be absolutely humiliated by a stretchy tongue.

Splicing doesn't seem liked by the community

From what I've read on this forum, a lot of people seem to dislike the way splicing is handled. I do too. While I understand it is meant to encourage players to try new builds, I think it actually does the opposite. Once you've unlocked a few genetics, your chance to get two that synergize with each other is pretty slim. I feel like I would be more open to trying a specific build if I could select specific genes myself, rather than wait for the game to offer them to me at random.

I also understand that this system is there to balance the game, but balancing is the very issue this system lacks. Some genes are extremely good and actually define a run while others barely change anything (Standard (+15hp), Chosen (3 legendary evolutions at lvl 3), Expert (specs one lvl earlier) have practically no effect 5 minutes into a run).

Brotato, a very similar action roguelike, offers many different starting modifiers that define your run. I don't think they must have the same system; differences in the genre are absolutely welcome, and I like the idea of genes being the starting base modifiers. But the current way it is handled prompts players to force restart a game by killing themselves, or by playing with a suboptimal build.

I have seen the argument that players "optimize the fun out of games", but it is completely out of place for roguelikes, games which are built on the idea of optimizing a build.

If this sentiment is shared by the community, maybe the devs should reconsider the way splicing works.

Rework or drop the "really?" achievement

It's not even hard, just a boring slog that will be 99.9% of the playtime in the game for achievement hunters.

EDIT: I am always amused by how criticism and feedback offends gamers. This is why the industry is where it is. People are tone policing me for saying the words "boring slog", which this achievement clearly is. I am sure the devs would agree. I want the game to be better and more fun when all the content is done, that is all.

I would suggest these fixes:

  1. hard mode challenges. All challenges are pressure 15-20. If you complete a hardmode challenge, you get the tick in normal mode as well.
  2. Even faster game speed option in challenges.
  3. Optional way to skip straight to the next boss in challenges.

I have a theory.

The Krabken is you— AKA: DARWIN! Okay, let's backtrack. Why do I think Darwin is the Krabken? Well, let's take a look at the core aspect of the game. You're Darwin, practicing unnatural selection to fight against Carcinization. Darwin seems to be made of an almost goopy looking blue-teal-cyan material. Now, ALL of the enemies have a reason to look the way they do. Pantther focuses on damage, Beeware evolves to be even MORE a b@$?!, etc. But Krabken? He has NO reason to be such a hodgepodge of traits. It's almost like he does unnatural selection... Hey wait a minute...

Okay, maybe the Krabken looking so strange is just a stylistic choice. Maybe he's just a representation of Carcinization? Okay, whatever. Ignoring that, let's look at what happens when you defeat the Krabken. His parts explode outwards, and he crumbles into a almost goopy looking blue-teal-cyan material. Can you tell me who ELSE has that same composition? That's right, DARWIN. But maybe you still don't believe me. Maybe you think it's just a coincidence they look the EXACT same. Okay, fine. But, if this is true, it reveals the TRUE story of the game.

Some time ago, the first Krabken emerged, and so did Darwin. Darwin eventually grows to destroy the Krabken, and the Krabken, with the last of his strength, splits into many, and makes the run off. These 'many' are made of the same stuff as Darwin, so it isn't long before one of the material turns into Darwin. This Darwin, destined to rise up and become the New Krabken, to fulfill his ancestor's legacy goes on the mission. And so, we play as this New Darwin evolving to become the New Krabken. There's just one problem. Somebody already beat him to it. Whilst the New Darwin was evolving, the Old Darwin rose to power, and became the new Krabken. And so, the New Darwin, fueled with determination and jealousy, kills the current Krabken, and the cycle continues.

Basically: Everything is Crab is NOT truly about Carcinization. It's about a hidden story. A story about an infinetly repeating cycle, doomed to repeat until eternity.

Anyways, that's my first ever Theory! Tell me what you think!
