Hey Crabbies, we've got a handful of exciting updates to share, so let's dive right in! 👀

Welcome TM!

We're excited to announce that ODD is expanding to include a Tech QA on our core team!

TM (previously a moderator on our Discord) has already spent a huge amount of time helping the community as a mod, reporting bugs, providing feedback, and generally being an all-round fantastic crab. After working closely together for quite some time, bringing him on board felt like a natural next step. Many of the bugs, balance issues, & general weirdness that slips through the cracks will now have an extra set of very experienced eyes looking over them before they reach your claws!

We always love digging through the data and seeing what sort of chaos you've all been causing in-game. So, just as we did during the Playtests, Demo and after launch, we're sharing another analytics snapshot! 📊 -# Note: Data is true as of 8th Oct 2026 and doesn't account for anyone who opted out of telemetry

Here's some highlights:

• Over 27 million runs have been played so far
• More than 4.2 million victories have come from killing the final boss directly
• Standard continues to hold onto its crown as the most popular Genetic overall

Halloween is coming

Spooky season is creeping ever closer, and we thought it'd be the perfect time for our first ever Everything is Crab Pumpkin Carving Competition

We're calling on all artistic Crabbies to grab a pumpkin, a carving knife, and perhaps a reasonable amount of health and safety awareness, and create the most crabtastic pumpkin you can imagine.

How it'll work

• Submit your carved pumpkin as a forum post in a dedicated competition channel (coming soon) on our Discord
• Once submissions close, the community will be able to vote for their favourites
• You can vote for as many pumpkins as you'd like, so show some love to all the entries that deserve it!
• The Top 3 Community Voted Pumpkins will earn a special prize (still being finalised!)

But that's not all...

The Dev team will also be awarding a special Developer's Choice winner. This won't necessarily go to the most technically impressive carving. Instead, we'll be searching for the pumpkin with the highest possible Crabbyness Factor. Whether it's Darwin, an Evolution, a giant crab claw, or something so wonderfully cursed that it belongs in a P20 run, we want to see your most crabby creations.

We'll share full rules, deadlines & prize details closer to Halloween, but consider this your warning to start planning your masterpieces now.

We genuinely cannot wait to see the unhinged pumpkin-based horrors this community comes up with 🦀🎃

Charlie the Dolphin Update

In case you're not aware, we (ODD) adopted a Dolphin from the Whale and Dolphin Conservation charity a while back. You've been asking for updates so here it is: > Charlie, bless him, tries to be nice to the ladies – just like his mum taught him, but he tends to be a bit of a dope and sometimes outstays his welcome. I came across him on a rough day in the Chanonry Narrows while I was aboard the Mischief RIB. He was following Spirtle and her latest lovely calf VERY closely, and he was being a bit of a pest, so Spirtle gave him a few sharp slaps with her tail to get the message across, and he moved back a bit.

A cheeky little bugger that one!

Update 1.3!

Now for the part you have all have been waiting for!

We're entering the final stretch of development for Update 1.3 and we're happy to confirm that 1.3 is currently planned for ||REDACTED November||! 🦀 However, we've got something **MAJOR ** to announce near the end of the month
