Parish is openly supporting a white supremacist??

Hi there, leftist convert here. My parish is a FSSP parish, I was baptized there and still attend purely because of habit. Not involved in trad culture, just autistic and really obsessed with the Latin liturgy lol. I might be finding a new parish after this though.

I couldn't attend Mass for ~5 months because I was in the hospital, and when I came back the parish was covered in flyers for a black-tie dinner being hosted by an obscure organization campaigning for the beatification of a random historical figure. The event's title has political connotations, the organization's website is weirdly vague, and it pretty much just has a link to buy tickets, and photos of three men involved in the organization. One of the men is listed as a "podcaster and Political Commentator" and when I looked him up his podcast includes hits such as "Why we [white people] are Going Extinct", and "Did Jews Really Build the Left?". I'm not explicitly naming stuff/people so I don't outright doxx my parish, but it's probably not hard to figure it out if you Google hard enough.

I'm honestly just super confused about why this is happening and what our parish is getting out of it? It's regularly advertised in the middle of Mass during the homily. The last time I went to Mass the priest was talking about it as if we should be honored to have the opportunity to attend it because there's some member of Austrian royalty that will be there (we are in the USA??). Everything is super vague about what the point of the dinner even is. This whole thing has given me such a weird vibe I haven't been back to Mass in a few weeks.

Has anyone had an experience like this?? Am I just being weird about this, or naive about trad culture?? I just can't fathom how it's okay for a parish to publicly associate itself with a documented white supremacist, even if the parish is conservative. Any thoughts on all this are appreciated, thank you!

This post, the comments, and the sheer copium of it all

lmao it isn’t “psyop” just because someone isn’t a hardcore trad cath. they are beginning to sound more and more like the Pharisees in scripture than actual Catholics. Truth be told, the traditional Catholic sphere is a fringe sect of Catholicism and is becoming more and more of a cult (and popular!) with each passing day. if you aren’t a woman and constantly obsessing over modesty and focused on birthing 1,377,826 children, you’re a fraud to these people. Men and women both have come out and have said how traumatizing traditional Catholicism (hence is why this community was created!!) There is absolutely zero in between with these people and you’re labeled a cafeteria Catholic if you don’t hold the weird and cultish views that trad caths have (for instance, anti semitism, racism, and sexism). One of the comments even bashed the r/catholicwomen subreddit for its “progressive” views when any woman knows that even that subreddit is heavily moderated. Men are even allowed to post and comment on there so why tf are they butthurt about it? 💀 They then wonder why people are disaffiliating from Catholicism as a whole (especially women). And then you have pick mes in the comments validating this!!! You’re not special just because you practice NFP. When will people learn?!

Priest consistently ignores me

We have a young traditional priest who has consistently seemed to be avoiding me (middle-aged woman) for the past 2 years. I'm an active parishioner who is involved in a few ministries with him, and he will often not greet or acknowledge me but will speak to and look at the person I'm standing right next to, even during those ministry events, and even if I'm the one who is leading it. It's almost like I become invisible.

He's a good priest otherwise and I shouldn't care so much, but it seems like everyone else gets the enthusiastic hello and acknowledgement while I often don't even get a hello, even when I greet him. Or if he see me, he will often turn or look away, or walk away. It just makes me think I've done something wrong or something. At an event where I was sitting two seats away at the same table as him, he didn't acknowledge me a single time despite talking to other parishioners at the table.

On the other hand, he has complimented me in front of others as well, such as saying how lucky they are to have me as an RCIA sponsor. However, the avoidance is so frequent that it's hard for me not to feel insecure about it, as it's happening from a devout Catholic priest...so it makes me wonder about how did I get on his bad side?

This is the only member of the clergy I've experienced this with. I really would like to not take it personally anymore, and would love your thoughts and advice.
