F1 Manager 26 mod (Sector33)

There is a new update to the 2026 season mod - I heard that research is broken with the previous versions.

Does anyone know if research is fixed? I am currently trying the mod and early on in the game the sliders appear off when researching parts.

2030 Checo's last season

He's retiring so I developed the car for mexico and gave him a decent one for a home GP win and an Abu Dhabi win for his last race

I Made a Spreadsheet to Track My Own F1 Career in 2012 and Eventually Just Built the Game (8Bit Racing)

Hey r/f1manager, long time fan of the game and first time posting my own game here.

I used to track fictional F1 seasons in spreadsheets, swapping drivers between teams, simulating results, building my own little world. I wanted a game that let me do all of that properly on my phone so I built 8Bit Racing.

It's a full career manager where you build a team over multiple seasons, keep the board happy, negotiate with drivers, develop your car through regulation cycles and make real-time strategy calls during every race. You can play through real seasons, put yourself and your friends in the grid, or build something completely fictional. A full season takes 20-30 minutes, works offline and is designed to feel manageable on a phone rather than be too complicated and slow.

Features:

  • Real-time race strategy with tyre compounds, degradation, wet weather and dirty air
  • Driver transfers with actual contract haggling and agent negotiations
  • Car development across power, aero and chassis with escalating costs
  • Chairman happiness system where poor results get you sacked mid-season
  • Regulation era resets that reshuffle the competitive order
  • Customisable names, drivers and teams

I've just set up r/8BitRacing as a home for the community. Happy to answer any questions and hoping to get some feedback from people who know the genre well. If you do download it, a review on the App Store genuinely means the world at this stage.

The races aren't what I remember most...surprisingly

I finally sat down and read the 42 playtest forms for my management game.

People talked far more about salaries, budgets, and firing expensive veterans than about the basketball itself (which is funny, because it is a basketball game).

That's why I keep coming back to games like F1 Manager : the races are exciting, but months later I barely remember them.

What I actually remember are the difficult decisions I had to live with between races, even several years later.

Stop a driver transfer?

Is there a way to stop the hire of a new transfer to my team? I made Alonso by mistake a champion and kind of feel bad that he gets replaced by Leclerc next season. Alonso would have at least 1 or 2 more seasons in him.

How to do a custom F1 world.

Hello, this is step by step guide to do a custom F1 world

Step 1. Go to “Create A Team” mode in F1 Manager 24

Step 2. Select a team you would like to edit and press on the driver you would like to change.

Step 3. Go to “Create New” at the top right of the screen

Step 4. Make person. This could be a friend, family members, celebrity, an old F1 driver like Rosburg or Latifi (❤️) or just a random made up person or even YOU.

Step 5. Pres on the new driver to add them to the seat.

Step 6 you can repeat this for all
Drivers
Race engines
Key staff

Step 7. If you want to press on either
Starting balance
Facilities
Car performance
To change them for level 1-5 (5 being best)

Step 8. All team that are now missing people have a red dot. You can repeat this to fill the holes. You can make a maximum of 22 drivers team personnel and 44 race engineers.

Step 9. Save I recommend you make 2 save just in case you make a major mistake and one gets corrupted.

Step 10. Open “Race Calendar” change the races around to any way you want. If you are like me and dislike the fact that there is 3 million US GPs you can tell your self “oh Miami is going to be the Argentine GP”

Step 11. If needed change the rules and regulations to certain presets.

Step 12. SAVE THE CHANGES

Step 13 make your new create a team as you would normally.

Step 14. You can write down all results on your notes app or in excel or just use the F1 points system.

Step 15. I RECOMMEND YOU START A NEW SEASON ON STEP 1 BECAUSE THE AI WILL CHOOSE MAX VERSTAPPEN OR ALEX ALBON OVER YOUR CUSTOM DRIVER

Step 16. And then that’s it you are do the thing, have fun and enjoy. I look forward to seeing everybody’s creations :)

2026 Season Update Mod 1.2 Release

Hello everyone,
We're excited to release Version 1.2!

This update addresses the community's feedback and a number of bug fixes, as well as some cool updates and additions.

Patch Notes:

  • Database improvements
  • Fixed Mercedes Safety Car not showing up correctly
  • New accurate race radio messages
  • New UE4SS improvements
  • Added Red Bull wing rotation
  • Model Tweaks for Red Bull & Ferrari

As always, we'd like to remind everyone that this is a community project developed in our free time. While we do our best to deliver the highest quality possible, mistakes and balancing issues can happen.

If you find that car development doesn't suit your preferences, we recommend lowering the Development Difficulty in-game to see if that provides a better experience. Alternatively, because the mod pack is fully modular, you can simply remove the updated database if you prefer not to use it. Just keep in mind that you'll need to manually handle all transfers for the 2026 season.

There is a new version of UE4SS in this update. We recommend you update that part of the mod as well for the best experience

We truly appreciate all the support the community has shown us and look forward to hearing your constructive feedback on this latest version.

Please make sure to read the Instruction Manual carefully so the mod is set up correctly. If you encounter any issues, first check whether they are already covered in the manual. If not, feel free to use the discussion tab or reach out through the AMO Discord server.

Once again, thank you all for the support. If you feel like this update made the game better for you, we'd appreciate it if you could take some time to leave a good review!

Trying to improve strategy calls

Hello everyone!
As the title says, I'm trying to understand/ read the game AI and improve my strategy calls during high-pressure situations, like the one in the attached screenshot. Maybe more experienced players would like to chip in?`

Situation: It was Monza, whole race in intermediate conditions. My car is currently the second best car, with poor top speed. We were trading the lead with Russell, until Hadjar caused a Safety Car in lap 43 I believe. We went to pit for new Inters, since Piastri and Alonso had a good gap to P5 and below, while Russell and many other drivers stayed out. On the restart, both drivers jumped Russell, before we reached turn 3, when Verstappen wreckingballed into Hamilton to cause the next SC with 8 laps to go.

Now, I thought this was a simple choice of staying out, because we already pitted 3 laps earlier and now had gained track position aswell. But then I noticed that the McLaren were gone and switched to Softs, despite the 2mm of water still on track. I looked at the weather report, which had updated to show the water gradually disappear until it hit 0mm by the last 2 laps. Which means I know the Inter will already be the slower tyre by lap 49 or 50.
However, I still stayed out to keep track position and pushing the tyres until the finish line, because they were fresh and deg wasn't a problem. Then, of course, everyone else went to pit for Softs immediately and the SC stayed another lap until they all caught up again. My team was faster until lap 50, before they both started to struggle and got caught by lap 52, finishing in P11 and 12 at the end, which is obviously a generational fumble on my part.

Now, my question is, what are the indicators that this was the moment to switch to Soft tyres? I never seem to get these situations right, no matter what I do, lol.
In other races when I do make the switch to Softs in almost identical situations (Zandvoort earlier in the season for example), the weather suddenly doesn't dry as quickly as advertised (my Weather Center is level 5/5 for reference).. or I get stuck in the caravan, because the cars that stayed out on Inters seem to have so much more pace than they should have, when waterlevels drop below 1.0mm.
Do you people have a golden rule that you follow? Something like "No stops when less than X laps left"? Or am I missing something obvious? Is it just luck and the AI just wings it, hoping for the best?

Any kind of input would be very much appreciated, cheers!

Rigged! I am calling rigged! 😂

"Bottas on Alfa Romeo debut, tied with Perez for P3. Despite actually leading a few laps while Perez didn't lead anything at all, Bottas falls short of the podium, this is clearly rigged and I will protest against the fia" - me if I was an actual team principal

In all seriousness it's not that deep, Bottas overperformed the hell out of that Alfa in this race

New Player Confusion

So I just bought the game a few days ago, been enjoying it. But I'm having trouble trying to keep up with Ferrari. In my current career I picked RBR, normal difficulty for car development and race difficulty. But no matter what I do or develop I always seem far slower than Ferrari, they've won all but 1 race of the season so far(which I won mainly thanks to the timing on a safety car), getting double podiums all but that one race as well.

I'm kinda confused because it's not even like it's close either, they'll typically win with a 7-13+ second gap between 1st/2nd and 3rd. McLaren I can keep up with, they beat me at high speed but generally I beat them at low/medium speed so it's generally close against them compared to Ferrari. I'll watch Ferrari close a double digit gap after they leave the pits in just a few laps.

Is this really normal? Or what am I supposed to do? I'm not expecting to win a WDC my first season, but as I'm playing one of the top teams to start I kinda expected to be a bit closer than losing by double digits every race.

Team Principal is on sale for Steams Summer Sale!

Hi everyone!! TP dev here. I really dislike spamming other subs with promotional content, but just wanted to quickly share with this subreddit (again) my game with you all. It is in its first ever steam summer sale! I see a lot of other projects popping up here time to time, and they all seem super interesting - this has been my personal project for closing on a year now, with a fantastic community built around it now. With a recently implemented patch that fixed a LOT of bugs that were bothering me, I believe the base of this game is as stable and modular as ever! Of course, I must warn you, the game is not very intuitive, it has a fantastic community, and I am working on making accessibility better than ever.

Some of the newer features from last time I have posted include:

- Dynamic Driver-To-Driver relationships and Driver-To-Team relationships. Tight championship fights, constant collisions, and even team orders will deteriorate drivers likings to one another, which will result in MORE crashes between them. This has led to funny situations such as Estefan Ortiz REFUSING to be Ferdin Andros's 2nd driver in my Ashton Darting playthrough 😀.

- Driver styles/preferences. No two drivers want the same car balance, so players must balance the most optimal car setups in addition to factoring in whay theor driver desires.

- Expanded collision system

In addition to the below features present within my game that i have touched on in previous posts:

- Complete realistic physics model. Setups & wing levels impact cornering speeds, straightline speeds, etc!

- EVERYTHING is completely moddable through recently built roster and save editors. Regulations can be changed. Do you hate batteries? You can disable them, and have them appear organically later! Same with DRS, points systems, etc!

- Teams going bankrupt and exiting the sport after tough seasons

- Teams joining the sport and changing ownership throughout the seasons to ensure the grid is ever-changing.

- Do you want to buy a small struggling team and exploit them to use your junior drivers and engines? Well, you can! Cough cough, red boar racing.

- Varying grids, no limits on team amounts.

- In-depth weather system, and track temperature model, accompanying realistic physics

- In-depth negotiation system for tyres, parts, sponsorship, engines, drivers and personnel.

- In-depth development system for aerodynamics, chassis, driver aids, engines, even tyres. If you want to become a factory team who builds their own engines, you certainly can!

- Varying AI team development & financial strategies (will your competition develop now to beat you, or focus on next season?)

- Fully fleshed out car attributes, driver attributes, dirty air, slipstream, track rubber, etc!

- Fully editable sandbox game. Dirty air, tire wear, car performance modifiers, names, points anything.

- Safety Cars and intelligent AI pit strategy

If this is interesting to some, please do not hesitate to join my discord below wherein any questions you have will certainly be answered! Thanks so much!

Regen drivers

I'm around 12 seasons in and I've noticed that practically all of the new regen drivers are female. I calculated it's around 87% female and 13% male. Why does it do this? I'm not against there being women drivers, I've got 2 myself, but should it not be the other way round? Or a 50/50 split? My game has turned into a W series simulator! Is there a setting anywhere where I can adjust this?
