F1 in Dolby Atmos comes to Apple TV in the U.S. on October 23

I wrote this for Business of Speed after attending Apple and Dolby’s F1 preview at Chelsea Studios in New York.

Dolby Atmos is scheduled to arrive on Apple TV in the U.S. on October 23, for the United States GP weekend. Dolby’s John Couling told me they can use F1’s existing trackside microphones and sensors without adding capture hardware.

This announcement covers Apple TV’s U.S. coverage. The article doesn’t establish Atmos availability on F1 TV’s own streams. I heard the preview at the studio, but haven’t tested a full race weekend at home.
