FCX24 K5 Blazer Transmitter Help

My partner and I bought Crawlers to connect with her coworker who's really into the hobby. We're both new to crawlers, but I worked with electronics in the military, so I'm pretty good at figure this stuff out.

Both mine and hers came from the same seller and mine is working perfectly. We followed the instructions for both and hers started doing this. We reached out to the seller (who was super condescending) and tried binding it to the receiver. However, the transmitter won't turn on now.

Things to note:

- When we first put the batteries in, the handle got *really* hot. We thought this just might be a thing, but mine does not.

- Both came from the same seller but hers was used and mine seemed new despite being "used"

- The batteries in mine sit up nice and high, hers does not, and when you close the battery compartment, there's a bit of a rattle (batteries are installed correctly, I triple checked)

- We haven't had time to bind my transmitter to her receiver, but seeing now the transmitter doesn't turn on, overheated, and now rattles, I'm guessing we have a bonk transmitter (I'll include a pic of the batteries below)

Any advice is appreciated!!

Flexy Friday w a failed experiment

Tried out a stretched front end on my 24. Handled pretty sweet for very specific things and looked cool! Servo and front body mounts interfered with each other so I’m back to regular front links. It was a fun tinkering session 🤠

FCX24 power wagon brushless - Wheel weights

I just bought a FCX24 power wagon, the brushless version. I wanna get wights for it but I'm not sure which ones fit. On FMS webpage they list a couple of weights you can get with the car but several reviews of those weights on the webpage say that they don't fit.

Does anyone know which ones fit?

Issue with 39mm shocks on d90 fcx24m help please 😥

Halp!

So I installed 39mm shocks to my d90 land rover defender. As you might see on the pictures the driveshaft is in a difficult angle which causes some tension in the drive system. I wanted to ask for any advice. Currently I have my shocks at the lowest setting. I am hoping that I can still use these new shocks I ordered on my little car.

Strange buzzing sound when running new brushless with stock transmission at low power

This happens when I lightly apply the throttle on my fcx24m land rover. I followed this guide to upgrade it but I didn't really understand the instructions around not messing up the transmission servo alignment. The transmission does lock into the correct gear and stay there, when I apply the throttle after switching gears.

It's a prominent buzzing sound that only happens with a specific amount of throttle. It does seem to happen in both gears.

FCX24M Defender 110 build update

Just trying to add to the pool of lacking information on the FCX24M's and share a photo of this monster.

Upgrades top to bottom chronologically (1 being first mod made).

  1. Injora stainless steel driveshafts since I read those go first.
  2. 40mm Injora big bore shocks. Fit totally fine in the stock configuration and added some clearance. Front shocks are frame mounted for more articulation, though currently have a bit of rubbing at the bumper and front of fender that needs to be solved.
  3. Injora m1.4 hood-mounted rock lights (now hooked up to new receiver). In hindsight I kinda miss having them on the bumper since the hood reflects a lot of light back at your eyes. Love the lights though, wicked bright.
  4. AliExpress 1224 brushless motor and ESC (made by "FLYUACE"). Original motor pinion stripped when I installed a steel main drive gear, so I fast tracked upgrading to brushless. Thing is at least double the torque and double the speed. AM32 ESC just requires some tuning which apparently I can't do since I don't have a PC... Drag brake seems to be set to 100% which is obnoxious because the thing is so fast that I feel like I'm going to explode the transmission when I let off the throttle.
  5. Meus ME-8B transmitter and 08A receiver (8 channel). Awesome combo and receiver fits great (I followed https://deljojoseph.com/project24m regarding switching the locations of battery and receiver, though I have the ESC where the stock receiver was, and the new receiver sits behind the rear shock mounts at the back. Only issue here is servo wires hitting the plastic interior which I will solve with a knife and some spray paint.
  6. Meus orange LED strip lights (have their own LED controller hooked to channel 5).
  7. Meus headlight/rocklight LED controller (found on amazon and doesn't have annoying flashing modes). Both the head lights and the rock lights are hooked up to this controller so I can cycle through them with one button on channel 4.
  8. Injora 1.0 aluminum wheels (apparently with a little negative offset that wasn't listed..), and Injora 58mm x 24mm tires with yellow silicone inserts. These tires are huge. The rears with the 40mm shocks didn't rub with my last wheels that had 0 offset, but now with this negative offset they do rub a little which is annoying. Solvable I think by going with the 57mm x 22mm Injora tires, or 0mm offset wheels.

Fcx24 k5 blazer problems

What do you guys think the issue is here? Diff gears? Portal gears? I’m a bit pissed off because I’ve only had this for a few weeks and haven’t even had a chance to run it outside yet.
