Does anyone know what number they are up to for the next class?

I had a longer post written out due to some recent frustrating calls involving PD & new partners, but I’ll keep it short:

EMS is not responsible for determining if someone is an EDP.

MHL 9.41 authorizes PD to put someone in protective custody & to involuntarily remove them to the hospital.
MHL 9.58 states that certain clinicians authorized by NYS are allowed to have someone involuntarily removed to the hospital. They also need to have the proper paperwork filled out.

Don’t be strong armed by PD, EMS’s role in these calls should be supportive in nature, providing safe treatment & transport of the pt in custody.
