Materia Hunt Event - New And Returning Players

Whether you are a New, Returning, and/or looking to round out your teams - I highly recommend The Materia Hunt Event.

With all the Stamina Pots we are receiving, it's a great spot to use them. After the first time this Event came around, all my Teams were significantly better and I was completing much more that the game was offering, all thanks to setting my Attackers/Supports up with full Materia corresponding to the Element being used.

How Does it Work?

From what I've done, which is a lot, it seems to work as such:

  • Any completion has a chance to drop any quality of Elemental Materia corresponding to the Stage you select + some Synthesis Materials to create your own
  • Magic and Physical (Blow) Materia are both available, random
  • Materia is locked at a Level 1 with curated Stats and Sigils
  • Example - Elemental Potency varies from:
    • 6.1% , 7.9% , 9.7% , Refined (11.5%)

Rare encounters is a guaranteed additional drop, meaning you could get 2 drops if 1 drops from base completion, too

  • Cactuar = atleast a 6.1% Materia or higher, 6.1% more likely
  • Bomb = atleast a 6.1% Materia or higher, 7.9% more likely
  • Yuffie = atleast a 9.7% Materia or higher, seems to favor max 11.5% Refined Materia but 9.7% possible
  • Any of the above can drop Refined (11.5%) Materia

Remember to do your 1/day skip daily! Magic Water Guild Battle is coming up, but farm out any Element that you are having trouble with / want to improve / lack in. Filling Attackers' 3 Materia Slots with good Materia really was the big jump in Power for me when I started playing less than a year ago. Refined (11.5%) or not!

DPS Weapon Cast Times

I was super bored at work so I decided to try to measure the cast times of all the (relevant) DPS weapons (I'm missing a few limited weapons, apologies for that). I tested them on bahamut ex 3 so there was no network interference that could throw off the results, but the results are also just a rough estimate based on what I could see by eye (I didn't record them and measure frame by frame or anything too crazy).

The "ATB" is based on how many ATB bars gained from when you click the ability until exactly when the ability can be recast, it's not based on when the damage actually occurs, since some abilities deal their damage very quickly but still take a long time for their animation to finish before they can be recast.

People have always talked smack about how slow Edged Wings is but in reality it's not that bad, and its DPS would only be truly impacted if Young Seph was hasted during overspeed, if he's hasted during ATB conservation, or during overspeed with ATB conservation active, but even then the DPS loss is still minimal.

Any weapon with an animation above 1.4 ATB would lose DPS if the character has overspeed on, is hasted, AND has ATB conservation active, because each ability would cost 2 ATB and the "ATB" section would be multiplied by 1.5x because of haste.

OG Seph always loses DPS while his overspeed is active because he simply cannot cast any of his DPS weapons quick enough to match the extremely low 1 ATB cost.

I included the averages for Cloud and Tifa's weapons without Murasame and Motor Drive in brackets because those are some pretty insane outliers and the only weapons that take under 1 ATB to fully cast.

🏛️ Hall of Records - Was you there at the Beginning? Day 1 Ever Crisis player

I eventually stepped away too. The guild system wasn't really for me, and life moved on.

No hard feelings toward the game. (lets see what revelation might bring.)

I just simply stopped playing.

Today i logged back in. Level 130. 1,584,289 power. (Untouched for some time)

My old limited Cloud banner still beside my name.

And now Ever Crisis itself is approaching the end of its journey.

Funny how you can leave a game behind, only to return years later and find a little piece of your own history still sitting exactly where you left it.

I was here when the doors opened. Feels right to be here when they close.

Saw this at local Japanese bookstore. Got it, but also sad since game is ending :(

I kind of wish it had the loading screen art as well, but its just postcards of some of the early CG wallpapers. Still lovely, but I'm going to miss that art plus the later wallpapers.

New to game

So ive been playing for a week or so now and i guess im wondering is there a point to playing at this point i mean i finished the first soldier stuff. before crisis and working on dirge because i never got to play it originally. i am unsure ill be able to get strong enough to do some content. i do wish i seen that this was on steam a much longer time ago. as i never had a phone good enough to play it. anyway thank in advance for any answers. it has a been a fairly fun game so far

Outfit looks cute. I’m assuming August’s guild battle is magic water then?

On a separate note, I’m glad the final few weeks of this aren’t just the same characters getting banners over and over again.
