Stickers or Paint?

I’m going to cosplay as this character from the anime Demon slayer soon. I’ve already figured out how to paint my face white, I’m just trying to figure out how to do the red circles she has on her face. I found these face sticker that are specifically made for the character, but I’m wondering if they’ll stay? Is it worth it to get these, or will it be better to just paint them? Will the stickers stay for a whole convention?

I'm doing my first event this weekend. What do I need? / What should I know?

I'm doing my first non-family event this weekend for the local movie theatre. What do I? need to know? Any hot tips are hugely appreciated. Also, what do I need? I have one water container/brush stand, a bunch of brushes, paints from Tag, glitter gel with Vaseline as a base, baby wipes for grubby faces, and half-circle sponges. Is there anything I'm missing?

Need help with body paint on budget…

We have a fall festival in a small town I am from and for a parade a few guys selected to participate get our belly’s painted and wear a “hat” (trashcan) with rim and we are called “top hats.” Very strange I know but it’s fun, anyway we use mostly acrylic cheap paints like apple barrel from Walmart which I know you shouldn’t use it for skin but it’s all we could afford since we don’t make any money from this. Is there another affordable option that we could use or maybe even add something to what we are already using? The acrylic cracks when we move our arms which we try not to but holding your arms up for 5 hours or more is exhausting. Plus it’s September so it’s still fairly warm out and we sweat. Any help would be awesome!

Just sharin’ some facts

🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨
The research is in. Face painters who shop at SillyFarm.com are hotter, more interesting, and have excellent taste in general. 💅🎨
It’s science. We don’t make the rules.

Advice needed! Job

Someone pulled me aside from where I work (I do face painting on community nights) and asked me to do face painting for her sons birthday party. I’m a beginner. I don’t do this outside of where I work and I only do it 1x a month max. I’m very okay at it but she was impressed. How much should I charge for the party? I don’t want to do hourly. I just want to do the event. I want to be reasonable. Cheap really. Help! I was thinking $30

Brush hygiene advice

I’m wanting to start up soing face glitter at events (UK) but am struggling to decide my best options cost wise.
I know that each customer would require a fresh applicator, so could I have recommendations for how best to go about this? What do people use?
How do you make it cost effective? Is there a way to clean brushes at an outdoor event?

I am a woman of color, so I was wondering if anyone had any recs for any body/face paint, and also just general advice on setting the color down and making sure it’s even. I’m trying to not spend $494893020 on the makeup alone so pls lmk !

why are everyone so negative towards cream/oil based facepaint?

Hi! I'm currently doing research for my upcomming cosplay, Jester Lavorre, and she is blue. So i need to paint my face and shoulders/upper body blue. Waterbased colours (Snazarro) don't seem to work with my skin. It just gets cracked, dry and patchy and I am also worried about it getting ruined by sweat, since the con is during the summer.

So i found out about oil based (Athena Palette) and cream based (Mehron Creamsticks). But in this sub everyone seams very against it, why? I understand that it doesn't really dry and that you have to set it and that you have to like warm it up on your hand before. But other than that it seems pretty nice! Or am I mistaken?

I want to paint everything!!!

How do you decide which designs to narrow it down to??? I have such a hard time choosing because I paint all types of people and I want something for everyone. I try to keep it on theme if the event has a theme but my repertoire has just gotten so big that I have so many possibilities! Do you do variations on a theme when painting, or strictly according to the pictures on your board (if applicable)? How many designs do you offer for a festival? I'm painting per-face for this event. I want to offer 12 designs but when I list them out it just seems like so few!!!! Additionally, I feel like I'm still figuring out what people actually choose. I'm trying to start offering smaller designs for people who don't want full face/mask.

Looking for skin safe, non toxic, latex free, paint

Hello!

I recently got some small art done on my arm done by a face painter, and now it has me curious to try and make my own designs for myself. However, I am unsure what kinds of paints are safe for skin use, especially due to my disability as I am allergic to latex. I did not think to ask the face painting artist what they used, and am now unable to.

I do not do much painting, and when I do its usually limited to acrylic paints or spray paint on 3D printed items.

Does anyone have suggestions for a skin safe, latex free, paint? Preferably one that can last for 3-4 days of daily activity (The arm art I got done lasted almost a week, until intentionally washed off).

Thanks!
