Seeking combat/weapon rebalance mod

Hello, fellow players.

I am sorry for asking about the same question that you must heard a thousand times already. I am looking for the mod that would balance combat on large scale. I did search for it extensively and found few but they did not satisfy me completely.

EcCo mod balances something but still not on the global scale.

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout2/mods/78 - comprehensive, but a lot of unnecessary renaming and some redoing here and there.

Maybe I miss something, then will appreciate any pointers.

Vanilla game has som much bias toward guns, especially small guns. And out of all guns there are clearly items useless and worse in all regards. It would be nice if unarmed or melee or energy or big guns build would be somewhat viable to make game interesting to play.

I am not demanding, say, hitting opponent with bare foot should deliver same damage as shooting them from some powerful rifle. Maybe yes, maybe no. However, there should be some benefits to use it in combat. Maybe it penetrates armor, maybe it concusses opponent (reducing their PE, AP, lose turns), maybe it knocks them down (again turn lose), maybe it is just plainly faster and one can do more attacks per turn or just utilize small AC remainders to deliver an extra punch.

There are so little unarmed weapons and power fist is just enourmously better than knuckles. Maybe it should be, but let knuckles to be much faster and fist much slower or some other distinction to give them some niche use.

Same story with thrown weapons and other melee stuff.

For weapons and ammo. It would be nice to say give rarer or more expencive weapons/ammo some extra bonus. Vanilla .223 pistol is an ultimate single shot weapon that uses one of the most common ammo literally laying on the ground everywhere. I would expect highest punch to be given to 14mm pistol due to rarity of its ammo. Because it is weaker and has more rare ammo, nobody ever use it, which is sad.

Small Guns skills is about 60 at game start giving player 60-80% hit chance against these poor mice. I get it player may need it to survive but it seems too gun biased by game engine. There is no much sense to invest into close range combat skill, throwing or such. The guy emerged from the vault they shoud have some low powered energy pistols, at least. Maybe some rudimentary big guns like flamer. Why not start with these.

And other similar things. In short, I would love to see a game where people can choose different skills to evolve and have more tactical niche use for different skills/weapons.
