System fans at full speed

HI all,

I have a MSI PRO A620M-E motherboard, I recently purchased an Asus ProArt PA401 Chassis. But the Fans are at full speed all the time. The physical chassis button is on auto, I've tried plugging the controller in both System fan 1 and 2 on the motherboard. The BIOS doesn't detect it, neither does the control center. I've tried a BIOS update as well. It went quiet for a bit then after a restart it went jet engine again. I generally sleep with my PC on but I can't even stand to sit by it. I'm using my laptop because it's unbearable. I'm about to move the parts back to the old chassis... Does anyone have any suggestion on what I could be overlooking? Here's to hoping it's something silly that I am overlooking.

Thanks in advance.

Looking for optimal quiet fan curves for my build (Airflow vs Noise balance)

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to fine-tune my fan settings for a quieter system while still keeping good thermals. I’d really appreciate if someone could share their fan curves or recommendations.

My setup:

  • Case: DeepCool MATREXX 55 V3 ADD-RGB 3F
  • Front intake: 3 stock DeepCool case fans
  • Rear exhaust: 1× ARCTIC P12 Pro PST CO
  • Top: ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III Pro 240 (AIO, exhaust) (on the top side)
  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4070 TUF Gaming
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X (6-core)

What I’m aiming for:

  • As quiet as possible during idle / light usage
  • Stable temperatures under gaming load (not chasing max OC, just stability)
  • Avoid aggressive fan ramping / sudden noise spikes

Questions:

  • What fan curve do you recommend for the AIO pump + radiator fans?
  • Should the rear exhaust be kept very low RPM or follow GPU/CPU temps?
  • Any BIOS or software settings you’d suggest for smoothing fan response?
  • Is it better to prioritize case airflow or let the AIO handle most of the thermal load?

If anyone with a similar setup could share their curves (BIOS screenshots or %/°C values), that would be really helpful.

At the moment my setup on fan control looks like this:

https://preview.redd.it/toublxnkh7bh1.png?width=1692&format=png&auto=webp&s=097ac98b657f9b6e56c41cddb51ab16cc2a8573e

Also, one more thing I noticed that I’m not sure is normal:

I had to disable the Smart Mode in the BIOS for the AIO fans because otherwise it kept interfering and made the fans ramp up for no reason, even after I adjusted the curve there. Now it always starts at 100% until FanControl takes over. Is this bad, and is there no other way?

Please be kind; I only started dealing with this yesterday.

Ventilation fan controller

Hey all. I am currently in Canada and at my fiancees apartment she has this to control the bathroom ventilator. Currently mine in UK has its on off switch above the door. When left in on mode. The fan will turn on as soon as the light is on. This annoys me as its set to run for 15 mins after light is off. Most of the time just popping in to wash hands.

I want to install one of these. Where the fan is purely controlled by it and not the light switch. Is it possible to bring one back from Canada and have fitted to UK electrics?.

I can't seem to find the UK equivalent unless im blind.

Thank you

WinRing0

Does Fan Control still require WinRing0? I had WinRing0 as an exception in my antivirus until just the other night. I was under the impression Fan Control moved on from WinRing0 to Pawn. However, after removing the exception and Windows quarantining WinRing0, Fan Control is unable to find a lot of my sensors. When I search this reddit, I found a post from 6 months ago with similar errors with the solution of keeping WinRing0 as an exception.

Edit: Fan Control 2.70 is definitely still using WinRing0, at least on my machine. I restored WinRing0 from quarantine, and Fan Control 2.70 can see all these sensors again.

My motherboard is Gigabyte x670e Aorus Master. It has two controllers, IT8689E and IT8792E. Fan Control 2.70 with only PawnIO can only see IT8689E. Fan Control with WinRing0 can also see IT8792E.

There is a third controller, EC (I think embedded controller?), but Fan Control has never been able to access that and still cannot

PC Fan Setup (Reverse Blade v Regular Blade)

(Green: Normal / Red: Reverse)

Just wondering if this is an okay setup for my PC fans and if it's harmful, started wondering if I had them right to make sure my temps were okay. From the diagrams I've seen it should be the opposite but I don't have enough reverse fans to do 3x3. Built it about 8 months ago so can't return anything.

GPU fans issue present from AMD driver version 26.5.1 onwards

Whenever monitor goes to sleep, GPU fans start spinning and stopping every 10-30 seconds. Logo LED also goes off and on, as you can see in the video.

When I roll back to driver version 26.3.1, everything works normally. GPU is Quicksilver OC 9070. FanControl version is 270, I have tried downgrading, but nothing.

I haven't changed any FanControl settings, it seems that AMD changed something with drivers. Maybe something to do with ULPS?

Does anyone have a solution?

Where to find similar Fans#cpsupport

#cpsupport Hey guys, I have this model for pre-2020, and the fans finally gave out, but I'm struggling to find replacement Fans with similar Casing that holds the 4pins together to connect to this model. I know it's a very old one, but it's runwell besides the fans itself. Are these types of fans that use this casing available anywhere, or do I have to take apart my PC and put in new 4pi s myself if possible? Any help is appreciated.

Afox RTX 3080 - very loud, any ideas?

Hey, I've got an RTX 3080 Afox version (Turbo), it runs extremely loud even on idle.

During Furmark the turbine reaches 4300 RPMat 65 degrees, at idle it's 35C at 3500 rpm. It's unbelievably loud. Like a small car. MSI AB doesn't do anything.

Do you have any ideas how to deal with this?

HELP w/graphics card fans

Since it's summer, my PC started having often fan spikes to cool down. I tend to not play demanding games but since my PC isn't the best and is about seven years old, it's handling the temeperatures poorly.

Never the less, I haven't had (pernament) problems yet... Untill now. After one fan spike, my graphics card's fan started "dragging" or whatever you wanna call it. In other words - it's buzzing and I can hear it "scratching" onto something.

I've just cleaned the dust and vacumed it and luckily, it stopped buzzing (as hard). Now I still hear it but barely. I'm worried it might get damaged. Any thoughts, tips or ideas?

Mix curve using higher temperature, not higher fan %?

I've got a fan that I would like to increase speed with ambient temp, but decrease with liquid-to-ambient delta. The MIN function will always choose the curve on the left, and the MAX function will always choose the one on the right, because it's driven by whichever fan percentage is currently higher.

Is there any way to have the a mix curve work from temperature, rather than fan%? In the above example, if the reverse delta temp is higher than the case temp, I want the fan to prefer the left curve, not the right.

TIA.

Fan Control not working with double fan header

just recently connected a double fan connector for my 2 exhaust fans in the back and top due to temperature issues

fan control not working for my 2 aio intake fans in the front and the back. only is my top exhaust fan able to be controlled

my 2 intake fans are connected to a controller connected in the bottom mobo fan header and my double fan header is connected to the rear mobo fan header

fyi the fan control software does have a "!" label on the "backfan"

my theory is due to the double fan header the software believes the 2 fans are one

any tips on how to fix this?

edit: controlling the "backfan" allows the top to be controlled and not the rear fan, no new fan has appeared on the software and there is also a "!" label on fan 3 which i think is the fan for my aio

edit 2 i just set my bios to pwm and still no changes from the software, note that i have identified which fan is not able to be controlled

Thanks for the comments; there really was a lot that didn't make sense in the first screenshot. This is how it looks now—I set it to run silently during routine tasks. This screenshot was taken after a gaming session. However, sometimes my rear fan drops to 0 RPM for a second and then starts up again; what could be causing that?

Fan Controller doesn't see fan hub pls help

Recently bought Arctic Case Fan Hub for 10 fans and finally installed it. Fan control just doesn't see it at all and it's literally impossible to use my pc now because it's so loud. Are there any plug-ins or anything at all? I'm so confused about all of that and really don't know what to do.
