Top Tips for Newbies in 2026
Okay, Iâm PMSing and I feel like Iâm saying the exact same things over and over so Iâm going to list some newbie pointers for people starting their page in 2026.âđ» Obviously this is just my advice and itâs not guaranteed or the only way to do things, but these are the things I seem to be having to say on every post lately.
Firstly, if you want to make decent money you should approach this like starting a business. Make a business plan. What are you selling? How will you sell it? How much is it worth? Why would anyone want to buy it? This doesnât have to be your plan *forever*, itâs just a first draft and youâll change it as you go. But if you donât have one, it will show.
Secondly, DO YOUR RESEARCH. None of us knew anything before we started. Read the Fansly guides and Terms of Service, watch the tutorials, search this & similar subreddits, scroll the fyp for hours, find other creators on sm and study how they promote, etc. Google things. Pretend youâre a horny man & use the platform, see who you would sub to and why.
Now, for the tips:
- Make loads of content before you even open your account. I mean *loads*. This will help you figure out your niche (think about what youâre good at, what you look good doing and what you enjoy doing- if you can hit all 3 youâre golden, but 1 or 2 is enough), give you time to make mistakes (recorded a 5 minute vid just to realise thereâs a weird smudge on your butt or a hair stuck to the dildo, anyone?) and build up a good content archive, which will make the next steps easier. Create a mix of sfw, nsfw and explicit content - play around.
- Think about lighting. Even the best camera will make low quality images/vids in low light. Your camera phone is most likely more than good enough, as long as you use decent lighting. Daylight is your friend, or dimmable led lamps are a great starter option if thatâs not possible.
- Invest in photo storage. Google pics, drop box, whatever. You will need it.
- Get a tripod and a little remote control you can connect to your phone.
- Donât start promo until youâve loaded your page with lots of content. Most people say 100 pieces of media, minimum. Subscribers want to be able to access a big archive when they hit subscribe, theyâre not going to pay for your 5 pieces and hope you upload more & havenât quit by the end of the month đ
- Open your socials (IG, Reddit, Bluesky, X, Tiktok, whatever) and warm them up slowly. Brand new accounts are watched closely for spam/bot/nsfw content so you need to use them like a nice human before you start getting your boobies/wang/whatever out and posting in 50 subreddits a day. They all have different rules and things which will get you banned, so itâs wise to pick one platform at a time to build up and then add on if you get overwhelmed easily.
- Use a good banner and pfp on your of/fansly/reddit/socials. Think about your branding. These images should reflect who you are, your vibe, and be interesting enough to make someone want to keep reading.
- Write a good bio which says who you are, what you offer and why itâs good. The more niche, the better.
- Donât get too hung up on your subscription tiers & prices. Charge what you think youâre worth. You will probably change these as you grow & figure out what sells for you as an individual.
- Write clear and simple tier descriptions.
- Say no to anything youâre uncomfortable with. Youâre always in control. Block people if you need to, even if theyâve subscribed.
- Donât undercharge just to earn something - you devalue yourself and the rest of us.
The fyp specificallyâŠ
- It loves consistency. Post at the exact same times each day. Post 2-3 times a day. Videos 8-30s with 8-10 hashtags.
- Make your fyp vids engaging, just being sexy wonât be enough.
- Search all your hashtags and compare yourself to the top posts to see if the hashtag is the right one for your content.
- Be specific with hashtags. If someone searches âcurvyâ or âredheadâ or âmilfâ and itâs a close up of a pussy, theyâre going to swipe straight past and your amazing pussy content will be ignored & the fyp will think your content isnât good & stop pushing it. Ideally you want someone searching for that tag to see your video and go âyes, curvy/redhead/milf! Thatâs exactly what I was looking for!â
- Just do lots of A/B testing but give the algorithm a few weeks to adjust each time. Switching things up too much will tank your reach.
- Chase engagement, not views. Loads of views with shit engagement just means youâre being seen by people who arenât in your target audience. Better to be seen by 10 people who would potentially pay than 1000 who never would.
