[TOMT] mid '90s low budget Ocean horror

I saw a little bit of a movie on TV when I was about eight. Couldn't say exactly what year and I only remember one or two scenes.

Best I recall there's a couple in a life raft paddling up to some kind of oceanic facility. Construction style similar to an oil rig but down at water level, not up on pylons. They're trying to get away from something and go inside.

There are some bright flashes and explosive sounds from underwater, building tension after they have left the scene, and I think their life raft is destroyed by something.

The inside looks like a well kept modern ships hold. All painted and riveted metal, piping, and sealable doors.

I most vividly remember a scene where they are on one side of a watertight door that is secured by four levers, one near each corner. I'm not sure if they were supposed to be straining to keep the door closed or what, but at one instant, two of the levers flip to the unlock position, then the guy flips them back. When the couple flees the door, the camera lingers on it, slowly receding, and then all four levers flip to the open position.

That's the last thing I remember. I'm pretty sure the female character was named Kelly.

Hit me with any clarifying questions you may have. Thanks!

Looking for the name of a movie

I’m looking for a movie (possibly made for TV or Disney) that I watched in the 1980s, though it may have been older. The main character was a nerdy high school girl, possibly blonde, with braces and glasses. She spent the summer with her wealthy, sophisticated grandmother, who took her shopping, got her contact lenses, and took her to the orthodontist to have her braces removed. She returned home or back to school looking completely different. It had a wholesome Disney/ABC Afterschool Special feel.

[TOMT] Movie – boy moves into house, girl dies in river

**Looking for an old movie (80s–early 2000s)**
I’ve been trying to identify this movie for over 20 years. Some details may not be 100% accurate, but these are the memories I have.
**What I remember with reasonable confidence:**
The movie is probably from the **1980s, 1990s, or very early 2000s**.
It is most likely an **American or Canadian** film, possibly an independent production or TV movie.
I watched it **dubbed on Brazilian open TV**, late at night.
The main character is a **young boy**, around **10–12 years old**.
His family **moves into a house**, and there he meets a **blonde girl** who is slightly older (around 12–13).
The girl already lives there (or on the property).
She has a **dark, manipulative personality** even before she dies.
She encourages the boy to do bad or dangerous things.
Early in the movie, they are near a **creek or small river**.
The girl **falls, hits her head on a rock, and falls into the water**.
The boy jumps into the water trying to save her, but he cannot.
Her death becomes the central trauma of his life.
As an adult, he has never gotten over what happened.
Near the end of the movie, he **returns to the house/the place where she died** to confront his past.
**Things I’m less certain about:**
I remember a scene where the boy drinks from a **water fountain**, and the blonde girl comes very close to him and drinks too, almost kissing him. This scene might belong to another movie.
I’m not sure whether the girl is really a **ghost** after her death, or if she is simply a manifestation of the protagonist’s guilt and trauma.
The movie felt more like a **psychological drama** or coming-of-age story than a horror film.
I’ve searched for years and ruled out movies like *Great Expectations* (1998), *Lady in White*, and several well-known ghost movies.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Having trouble finding the name of actress from Spider-Man (2002) and can’t remember the movie/show that I have seen her in

She looks and sounds incredibly familiar! I’m not finding her as a credited cast member either. Maybe I’m delusional, but I feel like I’ve seen her in a TV series or another movie where she had a more notable role. Sorry if this isn’t the appropriate sub to posting this in. Please let me know if there’s another subreddit that’s more suitable! :)

Help me find this film

I think I have watched a film once where the zombies/monsters are alive in the morning and hibernates at night, so humans hides in the morning and do survival business at night.

looking for a forgotten fairy movie/series

Looking for a forgotten 3D animated fairy movie/series (2010s?)
I’ve been trying to find this for years.
I watched it on Ukrainian TV around 2016–2018 (possibly PlusPlus or Pixel channel), but it may have been made earlier.
What I remember:
It was 3D CGI.
The main characters were very small fairies with transparent wings and pointed ears.
There was a forest workshop under the open sky, built around a huge tree. Around the tree were circular wooden shelves full of tools and objects.
Near the tree there was a rope platform/elevator.
One supporting character was an anthropomorphic insect (maybe a beetle, mantis or grasshopper). He walked on two legs, had antennae, goggles on his head, a tool belt, and helped repair things.
There was also an older character near the tree who may have been a wooden mechanism or an elderly insect.
I remember one scene where several fairies flew to the workshop, talked to the old character, then talked to the mechanic insect separately.
It is NOT Tinker Bell, Epic, Tree Fu Tom, PopPixie, Pixies, Strange Magic or Arthur and the Invisibles.

[TOMT] [Movie] [90s-2000s] French movie with slow motion stabbing sequence that doesn’t cut away

Looking for what I believe to be an obscure french film with erotic theme. potential art house vibe. I think there is a love triangle between 2 men and a woman.

There is a slow motion stabbing scene where a man and woman are embracing on the floor. a second man is waiting behind the wall with a knife. He pounces on the lovers and pushes the woman off to stab the other man to death. it is very grisly and the camera does not cut. blood starts to spatter the walls.

any idea what this might be?

Help me find this sci fi movie

So I don’t remember seeing the entire movie only the near ending part of it, there seem to be a woman holding a advance weapon(gun like) she was fighting someone in like a observatory where they were taking about planets aligning and then something about a red planet or moon then suddenly it seemed to all align after that the scene shifted to a large space fleet orbiting this sandy mars like planet then a large army(humanoid) with sci-fi gear started popping and marching towards a command like tower they seem to be responding to this large force suddenly popping out.

DETAILS I SEEM TO REMEMBER
the woman
-she wore red/maroon like tight body suit
- she looked like a pale Russian
- she had short black or maybe long
THE army
- there were humanoid with power armor
- there were vast amount of them
- they had a fleet above moving slowly together with them to the tower.
ABOUT THE MOVIE
- it was not Japanese, pretty sure it was western
- the vibes were like late 90s and probable early 2000s to 2010s

Live-action kids' movie where teen boy gets absorbed into a game

I am trying to find a live-action movie (been looking for ages so it may be a TV show, but I don't think so) I saw as a kid in the early 2000s or early 2010s, definitely prior to 2015. It was potentially broadcast on the Disney Channel or a similar kids' network. The target audience felt like it was for ages 8–14. It was definitely low budget.

I have a very vague memory of it, I could only see a scene or two before my parents turned the TV off, but it has lived in my head rent free for years. I have outlined what I remember below, which I know isn't much, but thought I'd give Reddit a go.

Plot

A singular main character (a teenage boy) gets physically absorbed into a futuristic video game world. I think he ends up there completely unintentionally because he does not understand the rules or what is happening around him. He does not use a controller, he is literally running around a world (just not the real world). I am pretty sure his main motivation for being in the game is that he is searching for his older brother.

Scenes/Visuals

Early in the film, because the main character is totally clueless, he gets pushed/shoved by another player (a different character inside the game). He falls onto a red-and-white bullseye platform on the floor. This specific fall is where he loses his very first life (or at least figures out he can take harm?) in the game.

The film has a futuristic vibe but is clearly lower-budget. In the game, the players wear helmets and what I believe were white, skin-tight suits. There are no glowing neon lines on the suits.

Thematically, there was a lot of red and white imagery used throughout the film. The suits may have had red lines on them, the bullseye platform was red and white...

Already Ruled Out (some of these are quite out there but people have brought them up in the past and they are not it)

  • Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over (2003)
  • Level Up (2011)
  • Stay Alive (2006)
  • Choose or Die (2022)
  • Arcade (1993)
  • Gamer (2009)
  • Tron: Legacy (2010)
  • Grid Runner / Virtual Combat (1995)
  • The Fairly OddParents: "Power Mad!" (2001)
  • Aaron Stone (2009)
  • Zixx (2004)
  • Virtual High (2016)
  • Virtuosity (1995)
  • The Thirteenth Floor (1999)
  • eXistenZ (1999)
  • Zathura: A Space Adventure (2005)
  • Gaming the System (Phineas and Ferb 2009)
  • The Last Starfighter (1984)
  • Kids World (2001)
  • Avalon High (2010)
  • Jumanji (any version)

Any ideas would be appreciated. I may be misremembering some of the details as it was a long time ago, so if you have an idea that firs some of the description I will be happy to have a look just in case 😄

Thanks!

Edit: for some reason it posted with no text under scenes/visuals. Have now added

[TOMT] A movie/show that aired on tv in the early 2000s

This has been bothering me for years now and I saw it so long ago that it’s a little fuzzy. So when I was little, I loved channel surfing and would flick through channels for fun. I think it was either on Spike or the Sci-Fi channel but I flicked past a scene in either a movie or a show, I didn’t stay long enough to find out. It was live action, the brief scene involved a mother and her child in a living room, pressed flush to the wall in fear. The scene was cast in a blue light and there was some type of storm in the center of the room—think like a hurricane or a tornado, lots of wind. There was a massive head of a man in the center of the storm itself, just his head, and he seemed unbothered by the storm and honed in on the mother and her child. The mother was holding the child to her chest and I think maybe she screaming something about how he couldn’t have her son? I think the head was of some kind of god or demon, something supernatural. I was really young (maybe 8-11). It looked like a modern movie (for the late 90s, early 2000s at least). It had both practical and CG effects, I remember the graphics were pretty decent by 2000s standards.

I can’t tell if I’m actually remembering something, I’m mixing several things together, or if my memory just made it all up. If this sounds familiar to anyone or if you’ve seen something similar, please, let me know. I’m losing my mind about this thing.

Please help me find this movie

The lead in the movie is a woman who is a high school teacher, the school she teaches at is also the one she attended when she was younger. she gets a new student in her class and she eludes to the fact that this girl looks eerily similar to her high school best friend who killed herself before they graduated. one day the new student hands in an assignment of some sort, an essay probably, the teacher recognizes the essay and after searching through old documents in her home, she realizes it is a word for word copy of an essay her dead friend submitted in high school before she died. the teacher confronts the student about it and the student says that it came to her in a dream or something along those lines. at one point the teacher contacts the man whom her best friend had been dating when she killed herself, they both talk about the fact that there was no indication that she would kill herself at all. the movie ends with the student going into the school after hours where the janitor shows up and attempts to hang her and make it look like she killed herself, because the janitor believes it is the same exact girl that had already died years ago, which he was responsible for killing, she did not hang herself. at the last moment the teacher saves the girl and the dead friends boyfriend is with her, at some point before this they realize that the new student is actually the child of the dead friend and her boyfriend. And I believe at the end we see the ghost of the best friend looking at the 3 of them or something like that. Reddit you are my last hope as copilot was unable to help me because this is most likely a movie that was made for TV and probably only aired in Canada, maybe the USA as well.

[TOMT] Name of a movie with a sock used for deception on a plane by a villain and a defibrillator he intends to use on the protagonist with that sock in mouth

I’ve been trying to remember the title of a movie I caught on TV as a kid (probably sometime in the 2000s, maybe 2010s, but I’m almost certain it was in the 2000s since I was a little kid at the time, though the movie itself could have been older).
Here’s what I remember with varying degrees of confidence:
It was almost certainly an American movie with white actors.
The main character discovers a note or message revealing that he’d been tricked by the antagonist.
He chases the antagonist onto a commercial airplane.
During the climax, the antagonist convinces another male passenger to give him one of his socks.
The antagonist stuffs the sock into the protagonist’s mouth to gag him.
I remember the antagonist using (or pretending to use) a **defibrillator/AED** on the protagonist. I think he was pretending the protagonist was having a medical emergency in order to fool the passengers, while actually harming or restraining him.
A woman is also on the plane, and I’m pretty sure she says something very close to **“You killed my dog!”** when she realizes the antagonist has been lying.
The protagonist then spits the sock out.

I’m pretty sure the scene was also played out straight, so not an over the top parody or comedy moment

I also vaguely remember the movie ending with the protagonist and antagonist sitting on a bench talking (possibly at an airport or train/subway station).
I’m aware memories from childhood can be unreliable, so some details may be slightly off, but the airplane, sock gag, defibrillator, and dog revelation are the parts I remember most strongly.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

If anyone has any ideas or can recognize it, please do comment, it’s something I can remember so vividly yet can’t remember much else at all, it’s kinda driving me a bit nuts.

Update: It was School For Scoundrels

Thanks!

[TOMT]help me find this movie!!

okay so all of this information could be wrong but ive been trying to find this movie that i watched when i was younger.

its animated, the premise of the film is a child (i cant remember if the mc is a girl or boy) in a coma(?) or surgery of some sort and they dream through it and go on some sort of adventure. i THINK they find two friends in the dream and one of them was maybe named ruby? at the end the kid wakes up and the friends are not real like it was all a dream but theres a sign that they were there.

this is all i remember! some of this info may be wrong

Edit: I am 18 now, it could’ve been some halloween film as it had a spooky vibe; the characters I think were at least kinda spooky but possibly some sort of monsters/creatures. If I had to guess it was a 2000s film and I did watch it at home, not in theater.

I can’t find an animated movie - pls help, I’m desperate

Hey people of Reddit, I've been struggling to remember a movie and I’m turning to you, as you are my last chance:

Between 2010 and 2012 I’ve seen an animated movie, dubbed to Hungarian, most likely a longer episode of a limited series kind of thing, (but at this point it‘s possible that it’s an episode of a tv series or a feature film), that I have very few and very blurry memories of, but it had such a strong atmosphere, I feel like I have to find it.

I can only remember two scenes from it, one is a wider shot of the characters arriving to a hot dessert with very yellow sand and the other scene features one of the characters comedically walking into a cobra in a basket and then frightening, you know the one you can find in bazaars. It had a very specific Middle Eastern vibe, obviously widely used across all cinema. I know it’s not a lot but that’s all I’ve got…

I cannot remember anything about the characters, I only have a feeling about them, which could be totally wrong, but I feel like one of them is child, and he has a complaining sidekick, and they went on a mission, they are definitely not from the dessert place.

Now the animation style is something I remember quite well, it was traditional looking, 2d with strong black outlines, it had some depth to it, (I mean it wasn’t completely flat), but you could see it was a little cheap, nothing to special. It had vivid colors, and it was deffinitely nothing main stream. I’m suspecting something European, perhaps originally French or German, and it looked like as it was made in the early 2000’s.

Lastly, this is a long shot, but for somewhatever reason, these memories connect to the film “The little Polar Bear: The dream of flying” in my brain, (probably because of the art style, but it might be helpful to you as well).

Aaaaand that’s basically it, I’ve had my Chatgpt rounds and my Google searches, and I‘d really really appreciate any movie titles if any of this information rings a bell for you. Please write down anything, even if it doesn’t match 100% with my given information, it’s possibly that I’m mixing 2 movies or that I remember something wrong. I really appreciate your help!!

Looking for a story about divorced parents rotating in the family home

Movie, show, or book. I remember a story where a couple breaks up but the kids stay in the house, and the parents take turns living there. I remember a scene where one or both parents were coming in from outside and taking off their coats in like the foyer or hallway. The kids were young, the parents had some conflict but tried not to show it. Does anyone recognize this plot?

It’s NOT…
Marriage Story
The Split
Scenes from a Marriage
The Affair
Better Things
Big Little Lies
Maid
