Need help to find the name of a movie on virtual reality

I am looking for a movie made in the 90s (or maybe 2000s 🤷‍♂️) about virtual reality.

The plot: the protagonist is an actor that needs to get inside a virtual reality to record a movie of the 1920s / 30s. The director asks him to enter a machine(a small pod as far as I remember) to transfer his conscience there. The main scene is inside a hotel salon, where he is supposed to repeat his lines.

However he got stuck there as the computers in the warehouse suddenly turn off. Life goes on inside but the NPCs are stuck. So he is all alone.

Only one NPC realizes there is a fourth wall and in one scene, he/she goes a total black spot as there is no background there...

I can't find the name of that movie although I LOVED IT.

Obviously, it's not the matrix, the 13th floor or many others I saw in many list.

So I count on your guys to remind me of the name.

Thanks a bunch in advance!

Fungus/mould in basement horror film

I’ve been trying to remember this movie for years and it’s driving me insane. I watched it on TV a long time ago, probably sometime in the 2000s, but I think the movie itself was either late 90s or early 00s. It might be a straight to vhs or dvd movie.

What I remember:
-The main characters are a husband and wife, and I’m pretty sure they’re both scientists or researchers. They also work with a small research team. There is a lab as well. They might be working for a pharmaceutical company.
-They either move into a new house or are already living in one where they discover some kind of strange mould/fungus/slime growth. I strongly remember it being connected to the basement, and I think it slowly spreads through the house. The woman even has some nightmares or hallucinations about it at one point.
-Once they find the mould they start experimenting with it in the lab. At first the fungus seems beneficial, it makes people feel energized, hyper-focused, maybe euphoric or mentally sharper.
-Now this part gets blurry. I think that the husband starts using it and then he increases the dose, and maybe other researchers do too. Eventually it turns out to be toxic/poisonous and he dies from it (or mutates before dying? not fully sure).
-The whole movie had a very strong haunted house atmosphere: dark interiors, damp walls, creeping dread, isolation. But I don’t think there were actual ghosts or supernatural hauntings. The horror came more from the organism itself and the atmosphere. It wasn’t a grand mansion or big old house either, if I remember correctly.
-It was not a fast-paced action horror movie from what I remember, it only picks up pace towards the end when the guy dies.

Does this ring a bell for anyone? I’m starting to feel like I had some mould myself because this is like a fever dream, yet some images I feel like I remember vividly.

[TOMT] [MOVIE] Stop Motion Movie I Thought I Saw as a Kid

There’s this movie that I could’ve sworn I saw as a kid, but now I’m thinking I might’ve dreamed it since I’ve never been able to find it 😅. It had this sort of felt-like style, the characters looked sort of fuzzy atleast. The only character that wasn’t stop motion was this woman who was either painted blue or had blue lighting on her skin and wore a dress that was made of stars, basically she was supposed to be the embodiment of the night sky. I feel like I remember a specific part of the movie where the camera pans up to the night sky and we see that her dress makes up the sky, she also doesn’t speak at all or atleast not much. I don’t remember much about the story except that some of the characters were a group of people in a small town, a little boy, his dad, and a news anchor. What I remember about the setting is that it took place in this little community center/city hall/church that some of the people in the town were in, including the little boy and the dad, and they were all watching the news (hence the news anchor). The little boy was the main character and I remember that he is taken up into the sky at one point by the night-sky woman and his dad starts freaking out or smt (that part I’m not entirely sure about). I also remember a part of the film where the news anchor crawls out of the tv and everyone is kinda perplexed by it but just kinda go with it. Also, the art style kinda reminded me of the little prince, especially with the eyes, though this movie has likely been out for over 20 years based on when I watched it as a kid.

I’ve been trying to find this movie for years so if anyone can help I’d appreciate it!!!

[TOMT] Recent European Film in Black & White

Howdy friends!

Some years ago I watched the beginning of a film on a Lufthansa plane but can’t remember the title or any of the actors or the crew. I am pretty sure it wasn’t an old film. I‘ll be immensely grateful if you can help. Here are some things I remember.

Black and white film in German or Italian (could have been Spanish)

Film takes mostly place in a villa

Main character is a teenage boy who has as a spiritual guide an old man who goes with him everywhere

The teenage boy plays piano

One day he meets a girl in a shop. They fall in love and play hide and seek in a nearby villa

The girl has two spiritual guides, a younger girl and an old woman. The old woman knits. Both guides are always with her.

The teenage girl used to stay in an attic before

The film then tells the biographies/backgrounds of the girl and the boy respectively

ive been trying to find this animated movie for years. it feels like a fever dream (pls help)

i don't really know how this thing works, as its my first time posting something like this, but i'll just post this if someone is willing to help me out here. so, like, when i was younger, like about mabye 8 or 9 (around the years 2017-2018) i saw this movie or film(?) on television. i have absolutely no idea if it was on netflix, or some other streaming site, nor do i know if it was even in english, but it couldve been, as i was raised in a spanish-speaking household, so for all i know it could've been translated or it was originally a spanish-speaking film. but it was centered around this young girl, like also about my age at the time i watched it, and she was living with her mother only (i think, or she also was taking turns being with her father and mother), and they seemed to be a wealthy family, (i believe one of the mother's outfits was purple.) well, point is, her mother and father seemed to be separated/divorced/in a strained relationship, so she was living with just her mother, but she liked her father more i think than her mother, and wanted to be with him, but some plot things which i have no clue of happen later, and turns out the mother was an evil(?) bad person the entire time and she cheated on her husband (the girl's father) or something and was in kahoots with the main villain guy (i think he was the main villain) and they had her husband killed i think, and in the end, they solve everything i think, the girl gets her good ending, and she ends up being taken in and cared for by this man and another woman (i have no idea their relationship status or if even the woman was taking care of her too, i just know it was the man now taking care of her,) with a cat as well (?) i have no idea of the cat if it was even there tho.

i'm so sorry if me explaining this makes no sense, i just have been searching for this thing i watched so long ago in a trance and i have no clues or leads at all. i'm even wondering if i just experienced some sort of mandela affect thingy and this thing never existed, but i'm pretty sure this thing did exist.

also, i believe the animation was something similar or close to bojack horseman, and little misfortune.

Movie title is needed, don’t remember a lot of stuff

A group of young friends are traveling through a remote, isolated area desertlike? when they stop at a rundown gas station. One of them briefly uses a filthy restroom, where he becomes anxious and wants to leave quickly, i remember that he was calling his “snake” Raul, talking to it to finish fast. Shortly after, their vehicle breaks down in a deserted stretch of road. Strange masked figures begin appearing around them, not immediately attacking, but instead stalking and psychologically tormenting them from a distance. As night falls, the group realizes they are being deliberately hunted by locals who are enjoying scaring and manipulating them before things turn deadly.
The movie is not wrong turn or the hills have eyes. I can’t remember anything else. All the help is appreciated!

[TOMT][SHORT FILM][2000s-2010s] Weird short film where a musician makes a wish for a “killer hit” and people’s heads explode when hearing his music

I'm trying to find a weird short film/video that I saw years ago and it's driving me crazy. Another person actually messaged me on Facebook asking if I remembered it too, so I know (hopefully 😅) that I didn't invent this.

Here’s what I remember:

\* Live action (not animated)

\* Probably from the 2000s–2010s (maybe looked slightly older)

\* Felt like a weird fever dream / dark comedy / horror short film

\* A young male musician is alone in his apartment/living room, sitting on a couch

\* A genie / demon / magical being appears and talks to him (I remember a genie, but it could have been some kind of demon or strange figure)

\* The musician wishes for fame/success, something like: “I want a killer hit” or “I want a hit that kills” (maybe not exact wording)

\* The wish backfires literally

Very specific scene I remember:

A girl is sitting on the couch while he plays music for her (possibly acoustic guitar?) and her head suddenly explodes in a gore/comedic way.

Another detail:

I vaguely remember his music later being played on the radio. He realizes people are dying from hearing it and calls someone to warn them not to listen — but it's too late.

It felt more like a short film than a movie, possibly something from YouTube, Vimeo, a horror anthology, festival short, or something that circulated online/Facebook.

Does this ring a bell for ANYONE? 😭

Need help finding a micro budget slasher movie about a slasher "game show" broadcast on the dark web

*AND IT'S SOLVED!* ANSWER IS "MURDERFEST" (2024)! THANKS TO Flimsy-Credit-8196!

I've spent hours looking for this and have exhausted AI trying to find it. It's making me crazy!

I'm looking for a micro budget slasher movie from sometime in the last 14 years, most likely last 5 or less, that I saw in the last couple of years. It's similar in concept and in execution to "Slashers" (2001), "Slasher House" (2012), "The Funhouse Massacre" (2015*)* or the **“**Playing with Dolls” (2015) series.

The movie could have been anytime from the mid-2010s on up, no earlier that 2000 for sure I would expect. I really think it was very recent, as in last few years.

The movie was about a "game show" being broadcast on the dark web. There are four of five slashers competing. Viewers at home vote for their favorites. Throughout the movie it cuts back and forth to several of the viewers or groups of viewers at home, reacting to what they're seeing. The audience was voting live, I believe via comments.

Each of the slashers has a unique "gimmick" and weapon. The slashers were masked characters with themed gimmicks. One of the Slashers was a clown. One of them MAY have had a "grocery" related theme. One of them was female and had a devil worshiper/occultist gimmick. Seems like one of them MAY have had a circular saw weapon. The killers had names/titles almost like wrestling gimmicks. The killers did interact with each other competitively, almost like contestants when they were together or ran into each other, but they also split up and went their own ways. The clown was more bulky/brutish if I remember correctly, NOT talkative or comedic. I believe he was the only one who was mute, with the rest conversing normally, and seems like one of them was VERY talkative and boastful.

There is plentiful ultra-low budget gore. The action mostly takes place in a state park or similar. The victims are people who wander or stumble into the "game zone". They include: a couple in a car looking for a place to have sex, a group of campers (including a husband and wife whose marriage is on the rocks), and a couple of loggers or woodsmen working on lumber with a pickup truck. There was at least one notable kill with the loggers getting killed on one of their pieces of equipment. I thought MAYBE it was a log splitter, but I could be misremembering from "In a Violent Nature", and this could be a different piece of equipment.

The heroine is a young woman, African American if I remember correctly, (*EDIT*: I MISREMEMBERED THIS PART. THE ACTRESS WAS IN FACT BORN IN THE PHILLIPINES), who was a survivor of a previous game. Before the next game she tracks down one of the slasher killers in real life to his home and takes him out, taking his place to infiltrate the game for revenge. The heroine reveal that she replaced one of the killers was early on, then I believe they did a flashback to how she tracked him down, took him out, and took his place. Seems like the killer whose place she took had a masked "grocery" or "bag boy" theme maybe.

I believe there was some show of computer hacking skills in either how she found him, or how she finds out when/where the next game is from his computer, something like that. The heroine was mute only while she was dressed as the slasher whose place she took, other than that she spoke as normal.

After the heroine takes out the slashers one by one, she has a final showdown with the games creator/show runner in his control room. The control room had monitors and computers, but it was in a cabin like single room. He had a gun, but I don’t remember how she took him out. She then hacks the computers and reveals the identities of the viewers to the authorities and the world.

The movie had no synthwave/neon elements, closer to gritty backwoods exploitation, but cheap. I believe it was shot on digital and had that "regional indie horror" look. It was played straight but was closer in tone to tongue-in-cheek than too serious or grimy. . I’m pretty sure this was an American movie, not foreign, don’t even believe Canadian. (*EDIT*: I WAS INCORRECT ON THIS. LETTERBOXD SAYS IT IS INDEED CANADIAN).

It is NOT:

  • “DarkGame” (2024)
  • “Stream” (2024)
  • “Unfriended: Dark Web (2018)
  • “Funhouse” (2019)
  • “Scare Campaign” (2016)
  • “Psycho Night” (2026)
  • “Self Reliance” (2024)
  • “Follow Me/No Escape” (2020)
  • “The Deep Web: Murdershow” (2023)
  • “31” (2016)
  • “The Furies” (2019)
  • “The Slasher App/Ruinville” (2021)
  • “The 7th Hunt” (2009)
  • "Scare Zone" (2009.

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

LF a weird fantasy movie from around 2000 to 2010.

Plot: The movie is set in a desert. The protagonist is part of a band of brothers, likely a gang of robbers. One day, the group finds a strange but beautiful woman who seems to know magic. She and the main character fall in love, causing the group to fall apart. The couple then travels together, and she introduces him to the magical aspects of the world. She teaches him rituals, including one that steals people’s luck by taking their shadows. They plan to achieve immortality together through a ritual or by stealing something. The plan partially succeeds, he gains immortality, but she is accidentally killed in the process, leaving him to wander alone.

There is a major time skip, showing that he has lived for hundreds of years through many eras up to the modern day. Her death deeply affects him, and he searches for a way to die, but cannot because of the curse. In the modern world, he works in euthanasia, ending the lives of an elderly Japanese couple. He appears to have done this for a long time. Afterward, he tries to kill himself by jumping off a building, but it fails, and he gets up unharmed. That seems to be the end.

Low to mid budget, no major actors, likely non-Hollywood but internationally distributed.

What movie has a man trapped inside a toy train table? 😭

Looking for a surreal movie scene I saw on cable TV years ago.

A disturbed-looking man (maybe wearing a black hat) had his head sticking out of the center of a bright green toy train table/model railway setup.

A toy train was circling around his head while he smiled in a creepy way.

Later there were old camera flashes and people restraining him like in a psychiatric hospital.

The room looked very 70s and the whole thing felt like a surreal nightmare sequence.

No dialogue from the scenes I saw.

[TOMT][MOVIE] [Late 90s / early 2000s](?) movie with one remembered scene involving children in a house/hotel

I’m trying to find a movie from the late 1990s or early 2000s (possibly American or English commedy). I watched it when I was a kid, but I only remember one specific sequence of scenes, not the main plot.

Definetly the movie is not about this situation — it’s just a scene I remember.

There is a little girl who is placed in a house or building with two adult women. They tell her she has to stay there and cannot leave. The girl keeps asking if she can go, but they refuse and tell her to stay calm.

They mention she will stay with another girl who is described as the “best behaved / nicest girl in the world” (I think her name was something like Marianne or Betty Anne, but I’m not sure).

This “good girl” arrives, but behaves in a strange and creepy way, lughing like a pig. The main girl looks uncomfortable or disgusted.

After the adults leave, it turns out this girl is actually very mean and controlling. She tells the main girl she has to do everything she says. I also remember she braids her hair and forces her to brush her teeth with a lot of toothpaste.

Later, a group of kids/teenagers is trying to find the girl. They are in a hotel or similar building and go around knocking on doors.

They eventually find the right door, but it is opened by the “mean girl”. She refuses to let them in, saying things like she doesn’t know them and that they can’t come inside.

At one point, a girl in the group confronts her. She suddenly starts yelling/screaming in front of her, and the “mean girl” gets scared and runs away.

Eventually, they enter a room where an adult woman tells them to be quiet because the girl they are looking for is sleeping inside. They see her sleeping.

That’s everything I can remember. As I already mentioned I’m not sure about the main plot of the movie.

I know this is very little and quite vague, but it’s all I can remember.
If anyone is able to identify it from these details, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Hallmark tv movie

Hi all! I hope you can help me on this one.

I saw this when i was around 10. Important details:

. I saw this in the Hallmark Channel, so may be their production

. It's a late 90's or 2000 movie, situated in 40's maybe

. The protagonist is a kid around 10 yo, caucasian, he used an jean overall from times

. It was set in a rural town/ small village

. He had a violent father who was abusive towards the mother too

. He had a mentally divergent friend, in her 40's, that acted like a child. I recall her name Seola but might be wrong

. The movie had a slightly sad vibe, although not depressing or dark. The kid adventures were overall happy

Scenes that I'm sure are in the movie:

. The kid challenged a friend to see who could chew more chewing gum (i think outside a chapel)

. The kid had a bath in gas/querosene because of lice (may be proposed by Seola)

I think the most important: almost at the end of the movie the father of the kid gets violent, he is outside their home, and the kid goes out with a rifle, and shoots him but DOESN'T KILL HIM, just wounds him, i think in his hand. After that the father calmed his violence and it was told to people that he had an accident cleaning the rifle.

That's all i remember.

It is NOT: A painted house (too heart warming and Ingalls), Wildflower (filming very colorful) , ellen Foster (girl protagonist)

Thank you in advance!

I need desperate help finding a movie I can’t remember the name of

So I watched this movie on Tubi, and I can’t find it there anymore. This might be a bit of a challenge because I don’t remember too much of it, but I’ll try my best to give a description. So the general plot of the movie I think was a girl falling in love with her soon-to-be SIL. I think at the start she was a little standoffish and wasn’t around much, but they slowly grew closer. The setting I think might have been in Canada or something, just I don’t think it was in America. I remember the ending was dramatic, they had a fight and the SIL broke off the engagement and went on vacation to Italy or sum and the other lady shows up and finds her and the ending scene was them in a house just like one they had talked about previously in the movie. Um but that whole thing could be from a whole other movie so take it with a grain of salt. I know this description is shit, but I really hope one of y’all will be able to find it!

Movie from childhood- Green Slime

Hi! I'm trying to find a horror-ish movie that I saw when I was younger.

I think it was made between the 90s- 2000s, and it was a more kid- friendly horror movie, think goosebumps style

I vaguely remember it being about a family of four, with a son and daughter (maybe older daughter and younger son?), and they're traveling. They wind up in an abandoned western type town. They stay in a creepy hotel where the parents sign in onto a guest book.

Turns out by signing the book, they get captured and replaced by fake parents? And the kids have to find they're real parents. I definitely remember this bright green slime being used to represent the evil hotel/evil parents

The kids end up saving their parents. The closing scene is the one I remember the most, where it's an epilogue of the family celebrating a birthday, but when they cut into the birthday cake, it oozes green slime. Ends on a cliff hanger, implying the kids never actually got their parents back

This movie was one I think my family rented, and it's been such an enigma to me. Would love to find it to rewatch it for the nostalgia lol

Thanks for the help!

WeeWooWeeWoo

An animated movie. Probably 2000's. The scene that has stuck in my head for years? There are a bunch of the characters in a car. I can't remember if they were animals or robots. Maybe something else. They're in a huge hurry to get to where ever. One of the characters sticks their head out of the window or through the top of the car and makes a siren sound. The sound is just that character going "WEEEEWOOOOWEEEEWOOOO"

it sounds stupid but this has been in my head for years. Every once in a while I'll think about it and actually make the sound myself. WEEEEWOOOOWEEEEWOOOO.

I need to know what it is so I can stop saying myself 😂
