The Art I Keep Forgetting To Post... My Take On Shadows!Azura.

Kept telling myself I'd upload it eventually, kept forgetting. But she's here now, and this is the hill I'm dying on - this is what peak Shadows!Azura looks like, or at least my attempt at the concept. Making her a siren or mermaid is too easy, and if you went the fish person route, you'd just wind up with something similar to Lumen from Arknights, I feel (one of my favorite characters from that game, but it felt too... safe.) That, or Haruka from the same game. At the same time, I feel like her design's silhouette and certain parts of her outfit lent itself extremely well to jellyfish imagery, and it's an animal that has plenty going for it in the "beautiful, but uncanny" department (no brains, tentacles that can be wispy and ethereal in some species, translucent, sometimes lethal stingers, can be in deep waters, the whole nine yards.) To me, it just made sense, but because the only other Shadows!Azura takes I had seen didn't even so much as think of jellyfish, I knew if I wanted others to see the vision, I had to make it myself.

Light Form was more of a rough sketch/proof of concept, which is why it looks unfinished, but I knew that Shadow Form had to go all the way in on the concept to tie it in with the comparatively mild Light Form. Obviously, give her the Nohr outfit for symbolism, but also, turn her canon headwear into a translucent veil that is both bigger and is meant to resemble the bell of a jellyfish, make the tentacles more prominent (Light Form's are more subtle and resemble normal hair at the top, but become translucent at the bottom, save for the darker ones,) and more frilly, replace her legs with more tentacles, just really go in on making her look like she's as beautiful as she is lethal, the vibe of someone who would rather let you drown after she gets you with her toxins, but is also completely capable of using her lance or strangling you with her tentacles to get the job done if need be.

Whenever I get my drive to draw back, I want to do more "fitting, but unusual" Shadows concepts. The aforementioned Arknights is an inspiration to me, with how they semi-regularly use some of the most obscure species as inspirations for their designs, even if they're categorized into a more "normal" group. I want to do more out-there takes, but ones that make people go "Oh, this makes so much sense and fits this character to a T, you've changed how I see this character now." Like, I think I saw Alm as a pistol shrimp or something similar once, and that lives in my head rent-free. So if I see an idea I like enough, I might take a crack at it.

Finished the Rapport for Best Girl!! Carina! 🎉

Carina is best girl and I just hit level 9! It seems after finishing the Rapport this is essentially the peak unless you pay, or you are given the required resources for free from the devs.

No way up from here right? To level 10 that is?

Thinking of moving onto Healer princess next. Self-mend would be great to have at level 9.

Any other recommendations for anything to grind out?

My first 8-star weapon drop!

I didn’t expect to receive one at all, let alone one that I believe isn’t on rate up. Also got it while I have yet to unlock Hanya.

Question; How do I Reliably Earn Soul Pieces?

I held off on asking this question for the longest, but now, I'll bite: is there some sort of criteria that makes it more likely that a soul fragment will be in a gold chest or is it literally pure luck? Does your online rating or level matter in getting them like being low leveled and/or low rated for the character and side you pick? Is it certain achievements like the light side winning and guessing right and not dying once or the dark side winning and fooling both light players and knocking out both light players out in round one -- the harder ones to get? Do friend battles increase the likelihood?

Misinformation? On my 100% honest and reliable fire emblem wiki?

Anyway I fully support Eugene being a DILF and having a daughter who looks nothing like him

How would people feel if Crystals (the green currency) could be traded for gold chests?

The green currency at the moment has little use and gets stockpiled to only barely be used for level-ups. Being able to buy gold chests with Crystals would help a lot with grinding and also provide a use for the green currency.

New story chapter/Disciple preview coming soon!

About 48 hours from now.

I think the cheetah girl (lance infantry) makes the most sense, but I really hope it’s a Red Cav. Kind of sick of red missing Cav and armor.

A friend sent me Grima's Shadow reveal and I did something

Forgive the terrible editing, it only took me minutes. I tried to give her headphones, gave up, then later realized it was on the wrong side, too.

Are new players actually buying limited rate up pass souls from the bazaar?

https://preview.redd.it/lox83kbh970h1.png?width=1193&format=png&auto=webp&s=968ec2c4a181b1b8daedce97e3b37de5da8aeb73

In the last month there seems to be a huge amount of inflation in pass soul prices. While it is understandable that limited rate up souls would increase in price over time, I'm shocked at how fast the newer rate up pass souls are increasing in price. I'm guessing part of the reason is that the rates were worse for Veronica and Ike while Edelgard only had a one week rate up but I can't can't help but wonder if players would now even realistically be able to obtain these characters if they missed the rate up event. Getting gold in this game takes time and as the stock gets smaller and smaller the prices will only go up.

While I think allowing people who skipped on a pass to be able to eventually obtain the character is good, I do hope that other ways to obtain the character aside from these events are added. Being able to purchase the souls directly with gems is the most obvious solution. Having pass or rate up reruns could also help, but those would appeal less to longtime players if they come at the cost of new pass character rate up events or passes.

Customer Support's reponse to multiple questions about user reporting

Greetings Shadows players,

This post is to report back on answers to questions I asked to Customer Support regarding user reports. I contacted them following a discussion under another post. My main intent was to inquire about griefing mainly since it has always been an issue, and rigging battles since there used to be some players who did that in ranked battles, but I also asked about other subjects I was curious about.

Results are not exciting but it's there if you were wondering about some of these questions yourselves:

1. How are investigations operated? Do you keep a record of past actions made by players so you are able to check them later in case of a report? If yes, does that include actions done in battle? Are recordings of battles even important useful to you in that case?

> ・Investigations are conducted based on information provided by users. > > ・We do not disclose detailed investigation methods, so we cannot answer this question.

2. Why not disclose the results of an investigation following a user report? I am used to other online games being public about reports and their results, so I'm curious about why Shadows isn't.

> ・For privacy protection and other reasons, we refrain from providing individual updates.

3. What actions can be taken against misbehaving players? Sending warnings? Temporary account block? Bans? Restriction of some features?

> ・If our investigation determines a violation of the terms of service, actions may include account suspension, depending on the circumstances. > > ・We do not disclose details regarding specific actions, so we cannot answer this.

4. What exactly counts as a violation that can be reported through the User Reporting form? It is particularly important for me to know the answer to this question, because I'd like to know whether I should keep reporting behaviors such as rigging battles/griefing. Section 4k of the User Agreement (Nintendo Code of Conduct) states "k) Engaging in any conduct disrupting or diminishing the game experience for other users of the Digital Product; in particular, engaging in any behaviour that endangers the gaming and usage experience of other users". I would assume from this definition that rigging/teamkilling are not tolerated, but I'd like to hear it from you.

> ・This refers to all prohibited acts specified in the terms of service for Nintendo Account and within this app. > > ・While this includes the content you have confirmed, we make a comprehensive determination as to whether a specific act constitutes a violation based on factors such as intent and circumstances at the time.

5. As a follow-up to the previous question, do these specific behaviors count as violations?
A. Does griefing/teamkilling count as a violation? I define griefing/teamkilling as voluntarily attacking a player that you know is your ally with the intent to lose the battle or make them lose rewards (there are strategies involving damaging yourself or allies, like triggering Crow Sword/Solo Merc Axe, but that's not what this is about).
B. Does rigging battles count as a violation? I define rigging as having two disciples, be it one person behind the accounts or two people coordinating through means outside of Shadows, of different roles acting to have a specific side win, typically the Shadow.

> ・As with point 4, we make a comprehensive determination as to whether a specific act constitutes a violation based on factors such as intent and circumstances at the time. > > ・As noted above, we cannot definitively determine in advance that a specific instance constitutes a violation. However, if you feel an action may violate the terms of service, please continue to report it. > > ・Please rest assured that we are reviewing all reports submitted by users.

In conclusion... not much that we did not already know. Whether something constitues a violation and what actions are taken against violations is entirely up to IS, without revealing further details. I don't get from these answers that rigging and griefing are considered as serious violations.

I still choose to believe that you should report players who commit rigging and griefing. I am assuming that when multiple players complain about another misbehaving player, IS does notice and does take action... behind the curtains... I hope...

Hope this helped!

Why do you think book 3 broke the pattern?

One way or another it has.

Our other books are 14 chapters

Book 2 lasted 6 months thus adding 6 characters (+6 season passes)

Book 2 launched with 4 chapters, adding 10.

So, book 3 has 3 options

-Last 7 months and bring 7 new characters

-End at chapter 12 rather than 14

-End with a double chapter rather than start with it.

Okay I guess pattern doesn’t fit yet.

But still, what do you think is the way this goes? I’m very curious!
