First time playing, my heart sank.
It was here where I leaned forward out of my chair, jaw dropped, heart sank.

I feel stupid I didn’t play it sooner, yes it’s a walking simulator, the visuals aren’t realistic but the style is absolutely outstanding as is how engaging the story of the game is and you almost go into a tunnel vision when playing it and real world time slips away.
I have to ask is there even any other games out there like this?
I just feel so sad. I finished the game 10 minutes ago, >!coping so hard that I would see Delilah!<. This is the only game ever where I stopped watching a YouTube video telling its story to play it myself, and after 5 little hours (more than most players I know) it's gone and the experience ended. The whole story is a masterpiece but this ending made me ragequit lol. Idk what I expect from this post, I just want to talk about it with other fans to make it last just a little bit longer. Thx !
I love played the game like 5 times. I’m playing it all in one night right now. It’s so beutiful and emotional and I want more ugh.
I’m stuck in a tree in the scout camp. I’ll have to restart the fishing day to get out. :(
Honestly, I’m quite a few hours in and I have yet to make anything that I would remotely consider a game-like decision.
If this whole thing is just an on-rails written story that I just experience while tediously looking for climbable rocks and narrow paths, please let me know and I’ll move onto something else.
If there’s an actual game somewhere here coming up, let me know and I’ll push through.
The voice acting , the scenery, and the story setting are all admittedly very nice, kudos to the team, but I don’t see anything resembling a participative game yet where my decisions matter.
Like this game is been around for over a decade and the company that made it is shut down, but yet the fans are still active and new players keep arriving. Like how many subreddits stay active this long? And as someone who became a fan for a year or two I wish I was around during the games golden age and early days. Even before its release and to see the hype around it.
Since moving to this area a couple years ago I'd heard from a few old folks about an abandoned tower that was originally built during WWII and now being left to decay, perhaps used by some hunters during the season. I couldn't find much more about it, other than the general area it was supposed to be, so it took a while to zero in on a place to begin my search for it, but a guy I sometimes trail ride with dropped me a hint a few days ago so I decided to go look.
My first attempt ground to a halt when I met a downed tree across the road. I returned on the four-wheeler later on with a chainsaw, cleared some room to pass and headed toward the highest peak.
The forest road eventually dead ended in a heavily wooded area. I spent some time on foot looking for an old snowmobile trail continuing up the mountain, by the time I found it the biting bugs were doing their best to drive me insane and it was getting late.
Returned to the head of the snowmobile trail the next day and followed the blazes up the mountain passing through some wetlands and forest. After an hour or so the tower appeared through the trees.
Windy as all goddamn and it's pretty sketchy up there due to disrepair. Last pic is a screenshot from a video I made at the top.
I've been fascinated with firewatch towers since watching *Far from home* as a kid and imagining being lost out in the woods, surviving and finding shelter. Playing through Firewatch several times over the years was like returning to those cozy kid's fantasies, the game really captures the magical solitude of these places. I finally got to live it out (less dramatically) and was not disappointed. I plan to go back for sunset sometime and maybe camp for the night.
Much love y'all.
Thanks Forest, I'm gonna explore that cave.
Needless to say, I liked it. 🙏 But it could've been a little longer.
Atleast this game make me feels there are people outside who like to talk, which I am mostly quiet, even doesn't like to open up. Feels like this is in the middle of death stranding and specs ops the line. Haha made me realise how compass and map works out without gps, which I didn't figure out in my entire life, most of game are like point where you wanna go. I wanna explore like that go w just map and compass not in caves lol, I hate darkness more like scared and get sleep paralysis. There are no short cut to go if I go through, game doesn't notice to begin the cutscene which I like it. So I need to go all the way around. I hate the new compass beep thing which covers most of North, west thing. Am so bad at that but somehow survived alone.
He doesn't even know how to deal with his problem but it still stay even he reach outside there. And she like the way to help people and trust people. Like to talk about which dealia ( forgot the name ) like, she likes about trees and hiking. Finding the small flower pot in her toilet makes me happy lol. Idk much about ned and son, how they come and why she feels sad how they connected, should have been remember at first, I always forgot what's the point of the story but I know what they going through. Lol I thought the game having bug after getting the key for the cave and going there; animation of wiggle of the rocks isn't working there. Cause I didn't take the walkie talkie at my lookout. Just incept and gone to cave. The kid loves the dinosaurs make me smile which I love about. Game should have put some more musics too felt only 4 or 3, only turn on music after finding the boy before that just vibe w joji.
Am bad at memorizing . Games are to point out the purpose of story and makes us know the character and details. Most of the game are like 10 minute of sm story and lore then, feels there's no life in there. I tried edit of finch, that voiceover making me throwup sm. Somehow I finished it, only like the bathtub and fish cut part. Am sorry this is the only single pic I took, forgot to take more. I like the artstyle. Not a good explainer but I wish I can talk to someone who likes game as me through words not by text. And buys the plushies or dress of the games which I can't find it here. I never write reviews this long only this make me, I mostly finish the game and look another that's whole time. I hate when the mc is quiet feels like I am mute or smthg. I growup playing games and but I never have the opportunity for explain to anyone, I just keep it myself and the characters stick in my heart. I love alan wake too that's the type of game and metal gear. Where people talk about philosophy and giving me knowledge about war and history. Maybe this isn't the review you won't expect from a game review. I didn't rush a thing, never did. Thought this was about he and his wife story.
In the middle of bumf**k nowhere with a ps5, firewatch, and a dream.
The game looks good. The only thing is I get motion sickness. In some FPS game slower pace I am ok. I just don't know what to do. Any tips 🥲
I hate writing this because Firewatch is one of my all time favorite games and stories I have ever had the pleasure of playing through, BUT wow is trying to play through steam the biggest headache I have ever experienced. From movement bugs to achievement bugs still happening in 2026!! It is extremely disappointing that there has been zero fix for what seems like such a simple issue. I played my first PC playthrough back in 2024 happened to miss 2 achievements (I didn't miss them, they just refused to pop), so today I decided to finally jump back in the saddle and clear up these last two achievements. Luckily just hopping into my old save completed one of them (Ol' Shoshone), but there was still the one remaining (The Life and Times of Raccoon Carter). I am now giving up completely after over 2.5 HOURS and over 100 save-and-restarts, just trying to get this one simple achievement. I have tried everything I could find just to get the movement to work from enabling/disabling VSYNC, spamming the map, changing to controller, and saving/reloading the game. Oh, and this is also after successfully completing the achievement 3 times in that span, but unable to get the achievement to pop. It is so disappointing seeing the game in a state of being unplayable. If anyone has any other suggestions or fixes I am open to hearing you out, because it is extremely depressing seeing this game in my library with one achievement missing (that I have completed at least 4 times now) and I would LOVE to get another actual playthrough in of this amazing game.
90% is a catch for this game
Since we all love Firewatch, I think this would be your next game to buy and enjoy

As a game developer, I just wanted to say that Firewatch is one of those rare games that has stayed with me long after finishing it. I’ve played it more than three times now, and every time I fall in love with it all over again. The atmosphere, the beautiful art style, the sense of isolation, the story, and even the ending, I honestly wouldn’t change a thing. The only thing I’ve ever wished for was a sequel, but sadly that doesn’t seem likely.
Because of that, I’ve been considering making a horror game inspired by some of the things I loved most about Firewatch. You would play as a newly hired fire lookout, carrying out normal daily duties while also discovering a hidden survival manual left behind by previous lookouts filled with strange rules for surviving supernatural events in the wilderness.
I’m genuinely curious: would something like that interest Firewatch fans?
For context, I’m the developer of The Mare of Jonah and the upcoming Netherwake. I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Greetings lookouts, I'm making art on the pixel worldplace in the forest where Firewatch takes place and I'd gladly welcome some assistance to finish this piece, all that remains is all the background filled in with the gold palette, I've already completed all the pixels with other colors. If you'd also like to leave some little hearts, a quote or anything related to show your love for this beautiful game, you are more than welcome to do so :)
