Lake Como first visit Report
I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to travel to many nudist resorts and Lake Como is the one I really want to come back and see in all its glory. Some resorts I get a sense of the vibe within an hour or two and how it would operate whether it's a weekday or holiday weekend. LC is one that I really think is at its peak during their events when thousands are onsite.
When I arrived one random Wednesday this past June the staff took my background information and called one of the residents to give me a tour. The background check went quickly enough and then it was off to my hour long tour. Now this tour was about 15-20 mins too long but honestly with what this resort has to offer I get its length.
After the tour I decided to take a walk around the property myself to see what it has to offer. The one thing I noticed immediately is the amount of space this place has. There are multiple spaces for RV camping and tent camping. There's even a huge space for overflowing RV spots at the front of the property which I hear gets so full once the snow birds start coming in. So plenty of room if you're staying for a day or a season. I believe if you're looking for a retirement home then there's plenty of space and different plans to fit your budget.
The pool area is spacious enough for plenty of people during the week but I can see it also gets full on event weekends. At least there's space for additional personal chairs if you brought them. The hot tub is decently sized for the majority of the time. Probably gets a little cramped on volleyball and burn weekends.
The highlights for me on this visit were the onsite restaurants and the bar. First the restaurant had inside seats and outside covered seats overlooking the very nice lake, hence the name. The restaurant had a more varied menu which I see definitely caters to the older and more affluent clientele for the snow birds. I took my dinner outside which was nice while seeing the lake in all its glory. Later I tried the hot tub and pool and they were on par with what I experienced at Cypress Cove and other places. LC also has a decent gym which I finally worked out nude for the first time. It has a good amount of machines and free weights for any future fitness influencer. I wish I had time to try the hiking trails but thats something for next time.
Now the other highlight was the bar area. I love hole in the wall places and this resort is right up my alley. There's a decent selection of beer on tap and liquors for anyone. But the cool thing I discovered was a dance floor/event space in the back. And that Wednesday we were playing corn hole.
This was not only my first time playing cornhole inside but also nude, a nice bucket list item I didn't know I had. My wonderful partner and I played three games losing the last two in double elimination but I enjoyed it so much. The members said this and darts get really intense especially during the snow bird months that brings twice as many people. Anytime there's an activity I'm all in and Lake Como didn't disappoint. Coincidentally I met a person at LC who just got a membership whom I met previously at Rock Haven Lodge in Tennessee. Such a small nudist world.
Unlike Cypress Cove with the highly developed land and lack of free space, I loved the large lake and Florida environment throughout the property. Seeing the large trees with Spanish moss as I sit in the hot tub and by the pool are one of the sights that pleasantly reminds me I'm in Florida.
I don't have any cons on LC since I was there during a weekday. I had so much fun in the small timeframe that it's already on my calendar to visit during a tournament or the next burn.
In my opinion what sets LC off from the Cypress Coves of FL is the space for activities. If you want to do a volleyball tournament or burn then this is the place for it. I cannot tell which caters to what demographic until I visit a few more times but I do get a sense that LC skews slightly younger. Nonetheless LC is an awesome place to visit if you're in the Tampa area or even to visit if traveling out of state.
