Take 2: Rod Bubbles (Not Blurry!)

You guys are rough, but I deserved it…those were terrible pictures. How about now? Thoughts? Advice?

Bubbles (?) On Flyrod

Ive had this Sage RPL-X for 20+ years and its my favorite rod. I just noticed what look like cloudy spots or bubbles on the guide wraps and elsewhere. I did leave the rod outside for a long time recently, so wonder if it’s sun or water damage of some kind. Thoughts? Advice?

What is the name of this rod?

I can’t find it online but someone donated it at work. It says “Sage III 9x12” and P.T.W. on the other side, it only came with two pieces and it’s 9 ft I think. Just wanna know if it’s good and if I can fish with it

Hardy Marksman 5wt vs 6wt

I’m currently trying to decide between the Hardy Marksman in a 5wt or a 6wt as an all-arounder, but I’m a bit stuck and unfortunately I can’t test the rod in a shop before buying.

From what I’ve read, Trident Fly Fishing describes the 5wt as more of a dry fly-oriented rod with a medium-fast action, and a bit softer than rods like the Helios F or Scott Centric. However, in the Yellowstone 5-weight shootout, it seemed to be described as quite powerful and even performing really well at longer distances, better than Helios F and Scott Centric which confused me a bit compared to other reviews.

So I’m not sure where it really sits in practice. Has anyone here actually fished the Marksman in either 5wt or 6wt? How would you describe the difference in real-world use?

Any first-hand experience would really help.

Value help

I’ve had this Orvis “one ounce” Rod and reel for 25 years and it’s gotten very little use. Bought it from a guy I worked with when I was moving to an area with smaller streams. Not a ton of info about it online. I have someone very interested in it but I’m not sure on its value.
