I’m VERY PO’d. I bought a life time 2TB membership, and now they are telling me to move to 2.0 and start paying. I signed up with Folderfort, they knew, and I knew that updates and improvements would be part of the program. I think this lifetime deal was a SCAM just to get us into their system.

I WILL NOT be going to 2.0….. I bought 2, 2TB SSD’s, and my computer Is now programed to back up my files to both.

I hope someone smarter than me can figure out a way to stop this scam. I think that it’s time to get the government involved, or Lawyers.

The Bureau explicitly states its mandate dealing with deceptive marketing practices.

I encourage you all to do the same. It's very straightforward. I pulled Folder Fort Inc.'s company details from the Quebec company registry.

Hi, has anyone received any updates from FolderFort or StackSocial regarding the lifetime licenses?

If you purchased through StackSocial, I recommend continuing to email StackSocial and keep your purchase documentation and correspondence. The more people who report the issue, the harder it is to ignore.

It’s also worth making people aware that Dave was reportedly trying to sell the company around the same time lifetime licenses were still being sold. That situation raises serious questions about how the lifetime licenses were being marketed and sold.

At this point, Dave seems to have completely disappeared from the galaxy. 😅

When this all kicked off I emailed Dave and long story short, he offered me enough credit to give me the first year of 1TB for free.
I never took up the offer once I realised I had manually download everything and re-upload it to FF2. I mean, what’s the point? I’d sooner upload it somewhere else or just buy some more local storage instead.
So for those who did claim credit. How did it go?
Did you get it okay? How is it going with uploading to FF2?

I get he's a very popular consumer rights and right-to-repair (and privacy?) activist on YouTube with millions of subscribers and whatnot, so how could we possibly get his attention and boost our signal?

It shouldn't be as hard as getting the attention of some Lovecraftian demiurge with a death cult but there's gotta be a way that's totally doable. Anybody know?
