angel cookies (good shepherd)

if you haven’t tried good shepherd’s angel cookies yet, you’re missing out. pair them with a cup of hazelnut coffee or sagada dark coffee from kape umali (inside baguio public market) and you’ve got the perfect baguio snack. these cookies are made from the trimmings of the ostia (the sacramental bread used for holy communion), so nothing goes to waste.

those crispy little bits from the ostia add the perfect crunch, making these simple buttery cookies dangerously addictive! thank me later. 😉

Stop making Filipino fusion cuisine

I appreciate the traditional Filipino cuisine of Mesa, Lorenzo's Way, Manam (to some extent)... it's comfort food, plain and simple.

No experimental bullsh*t.

Unfortunately we see a proliferation of "Pinoy fusion"... turning Filipino cuisine into hybrid homunculus from MoMA. I'm looking at you Locavore, Lampara, etc.

Restaurateurs should stop doing this. Stop feeding us your postmodern post-structuralist garbage.

Unpopular Opinion: Panaderya Toyo is overly hyped

People will come at me for this, and they might even say that I'm just too poor to afford them 🤣

Not sure if this the right sub, but Panaderya Toyo is hyped. Sure it tastes good, but it's not worth its price 😭

150 for a donut so small, 150 for a pan de coco (and honestly the coconut filling is a mid for me), 170 for a pagong (and it's not even that good).

The total was 940 pesos 😭 and I was regretting after buying!
Any thoughts?
