Replacing mostly entire new suspension-2003 ford Taurus - need pointers!

‘03 Taurus 3.0. 125k

Updating the front end suspension, with some parts and also purchased a kit from rockauto. I’m a novice and this is a pretty good test for me. Could use any pointers to make this job as easy as possible! I have all the necessary tools including impact and ball joint press.

Pieces being replaced
Wheel bearing (x2)
Quick struts (x2)

All the components from this purchased kit:
Control arms (x2)
Sway bar links (x2)
Outer tie rod ends
Ball joints

Seems that the biggest issue will be getting all the old bolts out? Other than that, is this a pretty easy job with all the components above being brand new?

Is this a good deal? 1994 Taurus

I am currently in the market for a fairly reliable commuter sedan and im also a fan of older fords. I am willing to do my own maintenance and work on the car. Is this listing a good deal? the low mileage relative to its age gives me hope. Anything I should look out for? Thanks. 51,000 miles

2000 Taurus with a blown head gasket

Owned this car a little over a year and bought it at 30,000 miles and a year before owning it, a head gasket job was done at a shitty shop, this time the gasket “blew” again but I really I think it was a head stud failure or installation torquing failure mostly because the gasket looks clean and new, the bs shop that worked on this thing threw it back together with an impact, I’m very glad we got to do it right this time around and make sure this thing makes it to 60,000

Steering issue

I have a 2014 Taurus Limited. It now has 121,000 miles. It has developed a tightness in the steering. To the point I have to be very mindful of turns. Has anyone else run across this issue? Before I go dump money on parts. I want to make sure. There's not a simple fix for it...

Severe coolant leak, what do I need to fix? 2006 Ford Taurus Sel

Driving my 2006 Ford Taurus Sel home when it overheated and eventually locked up. Got the tow home and now I can see it spewing coolant, however the rust makes me think it had been spraying a while. I’ve had family throw out water pump or core plugs?

Forscan spreadsheet

Hi I just upgraded my 2013 Taurus SEL to sync 3 and am looking into programing the new APIM to what my vehicle actually has and fix some broken features. I've been looking for forscan spreadsheet for Taurus for a bit and haven't found anything yet as all the links related to Taurus are dead and the original person who used to manage itsnt activity anymore. Does any has a spreadsheet I can refer to program the APIM correctly.

Thanks

Blend door?

So I have a 2013 ford Taurus, I've noticed the passenger side the AC is coming out cold and the driver's side is kind of warm. I haven't checked the freon level, but I read that the blend door could be messed up.It's a dual zone AC is there a way to diagnose the blend door I'm gonna throw some gages on it today. After work but if the freon levels are good.I'm just trying to find a way to diagnose that thank you for the help

Considering SHO/PI Grille

Hey guys,

I’ve had this Taurus for a year and a half now. It’s in fantastic condition so I think I probably won’t be giving it up anytime soon—assuming I catch the inevitable water pump failure before it’s catastrophic—so I was thinking about making a couple changes.

First and foremost, I’m interested in either swapping to a SHO grille, or the one from the Police Interceptor version of the Taurus.

My question to you all who’ve done it is: where did you order the grille replacement? Was it a difficult swap? It doesn’t seem like it from my own research. Did you go OEM or aftermarket from Amazon/ebay?

Since I still have some chrome trim, I assume the SHO grille would match best, but if you guys think the matte (or just non-chrome) would look better, I’d lean more towards the grille from the Police Interceptor versions.

Sorry for the stream of thoughts, but feel free to let me know what y’all think

Thinking about trading in…

Hey all, I’m wondering about when I should maybe start thinking about trading in my trusty 2019 limited Taurus.

Currently I’m at 140 000km on the odometer and just changed to the new yellow coolant at 130k Km. But that was the first change. Otherwise, pretty regular 5k km oil changes, etc. I have a little coolant usage on road trips that I’m driving for 14 hours straight but otherwise nothing.

What are we thinking. If I do the water pump, I’m obviously keeping the car for a while longer but, am hesitant to do so. With that said, it has served me super well through the harsh prairie winters and summers.

TIA

Seemingly undetectable issue on 2013 Taurus Limited

Hi! I have a 2013 Taurus Limited with the 3.5l NA V6 that is FWD. I really enjoy driving it, but it has a pull under throttle. I have no idea what could be causing it that I have not considered. I have taken the car to many mechanics and the Ford dealership, most said that there was nothing wrong, but one said they could feel it. The one that agreed said that it was caused by control arms, but I had already had them replaced in search of the problem. I have also checked them myself and got a second opinion, and there is no play at all. In total, I have replaced the motor mount, transmission mount, lower strut mount, both struts, control arms, ball joints, sway bar links in front and back, inner and outer tie rods, axles, and wheel bearings.
The pull only presents itself under changes in acceleration. If I give it a little more gas, not necessarily enough to change gears, it’ll pull to the right, and when I begin to cruise again it’ll pull back to the left. I do know that whatever is going on is causing it to eat through front sway bar links, but everything else is holding on well. I have access to a lift so I have been checking everything I can think of, from play in any area to loose bolts. Nothing seems to be out of order, but it still pulls. It is not necessarily something I find difficult to control, but I have tried for over a year to find the issue with absolutely no progress. Has anyone had a similar experience and what helped?

2013 SEL awd strut assembly

Hi i changed my front shocks before the winter and both bearings were defect this winter. I changed them on warranty on may. It was a tuesday. The next thursday both bearing defect again. I change them again and changed brand (first was unity and last stamina). 1 week later both bearings defect again. How is that possible??? Do i need to put oem? Cheap struts aren't good enough for a big car like a taurus?

Thanks for your help.
