2013 Transit connect xlt for 8k? 47k miles

Hello all, I was looking to convert this transit connect I found on fb marketplace into a camper van for me and my fiancé and wanted to know if this is worth it or if I should look in another direction.

It’s a 2013 and only has 47k miles on it. It does have the abs and traction control light on and the owner said he doesn’t know why as it just turned on. Otherwise it runs great with no issues.

I’m new to this and could use some advice, thanks!

No stud to release tension on belt? Do I cut and replace tensioner?

2012 Ford Transit Connect 2.0

Trying to replace water pump. But there’s no stud to attach a socket on to release tension on the belt? Is there another way or am I stupid?

Debating if I should just cut the belt and put a new pulley on with a stud.

Thank you!

Let The Bodies Hit The Floor..

If you know you know..slowly the transit connect society is coming to an end and all those with transmission issues are the main reason for this departure. The sad thing here is that I don't see or hear anyone taking my advice about getting your van off the Motorcraft ATf and switching to the Valvoline dex/merc ATF w/ the lubgurd shudder fixx.

Our van trans issues started back in 2023 and at 30K miles I took the van to Ford only to be told we can't have the van service till 100K miles.I wasn't going to take that as an answer. Over time I systematically attempted to locate a trans shop that would either drain & fill or flush and fill. Sadly over the next 30K miles, no one was willing to do what I asked to the van.

Not sure how I located the valvoline ATF, but we took a chance and it's been paying off. With 114K miles and still going the trans shift smoother but can have some hesitation. The point here is to flush and fill all while getting rid of the Motorcraft fluids and get on thet Valvoline dex/merc ATF along with the Lubgurd shudder fixx.

In fact we've driven this van hard through Canada and northern United states on some of the roughest road and the van is still going strong. it's a shame seeing many of you bitchen about tran issues and not do anything sensible about it other than complain.

If you haven't done anything to correct the issue and if you don't care about your van.. then get rid of the van. I'm in for the long haul and the Valvoline product is going to see this through. So if anyone has switched to the valvoline and lubgurd fluids and is still having transi issues.. their lying about it cause we've not had any major shifting issues as of 70K miles ago.

Transmission issues? either deal with it, service with the right fluids or get rid of the van.. period. Hopefully, our servivor van will be the last running, driving van in North America.

Transit trans troubles

Did a drain and fill on my 2015 that was already kinda giving me troubles.. it drove and shifted fine the whole day after when I test drove it.. loaded up my tools and ladders(cable guy so not much on terms of weight). Ran Monday and Tuesday with no problem. Off Wednesday so didnt move it. Thursday it started to whine, Friday it got louder and hiccuped once or twice, nothing serious, just hesitated a few times. Saturday all hell broke loose after lunch. Would randomly quit pulling, then bang hard and drive/ shift fine. Started getting worse and not pulling. Made a run for the house(25min drive) got maybe 10 min from home and it quit all together. I only paid $3300 for it and really have no use for it now that im changing jobs and will have an actual company van. Got quoted $5700 for rebuild with 3yr warranty, and $2200 if i bring my own(that's installation and programming).. considering throwing it on FB marketplace, but idk what I'd ask for it.

Any campers? I'm designing a conversion for my 2013 TC.

We want to build a weekender van for two. Storage is kind of all over the place with this setup, but since we aren't thinking about power, fridge, etc. yet we don't need much. We want to keep as many windows clear as possible.

Would love to see anyone else's builds for the old Transit model and hear suggestions about the setup.

2012 Transit Connect coolant leak. What’s the cause?

Got a pretty decent coolant leak in my transit connect. Unable to find the cause. Not sure if it’s coming from the water pump, unable to see any coolant coming out from it near the belt. But it drips pretty bad after driving for more than a few minutes.

19'' Winter Wheels vs. 19'' Summer Wheels

  1. MRR Design 19'' x 8.5'' ET40 5x108 (Custom Bore & Offset)
  2. AXE CS Lite 19'' x 8.5'' ET40 5x108

The 2019-2023 Transit Connect comes equipped with either 16'' or 17'' wheels. While in UK the MS-RT vans come equipped with 18'' OZ wheels. The max size of wheels I've seen on one of these vans is 20''. The difficulty in locating the correct wheel is that some of our vans have either M12 lug studs or M14 lug studs.. Make sure you check first before buying any wheel and buy at least 1 for a test fit before you buy the rest.

So can one install a set of 19'' wheels on their transit connect. This all depends on the lug stud size and your transmission.. If you have the 6 speed trans, more than likely you're not going to be able to. But if you have the 8 speed trans, you free and clear.

one of our customers sent in this photo and we honestly can’t get over how clean it looks.

melipron team here! just wanted to share this sweet transit connect setup. we’re curious, what roof rack brands are you guys running on your vans right now? and if any of you are rocking a melipron rack, drop your builds in the comments—we’d love to see them!

2017 Transit Connect - Tire Info Not Showing

I recently purchased a 2017 transit connect. The speedo is wildly inaccurate (~10mph low at freeway speeds). The tire size on the car is correct.

My plan was to use forscan to tweak the tire size using either tire size, tire circumference, or a hex calculator I found online. I've done this with other Ford's that I have owned. The problem is that tire sizing is not included in any of the modules shown in forscan for my Transit Connect. I am using the latest version as of today (29Jun26) and created a new vehicle profile with this version.

How do I get tire size info to show?

2017 Wagon - Large Speedometer Error

I bought a 2017 wagon the other day. My wife was following me in another car on the way home. She called and asked why I was driving so fast. My car was indicating 78mph, but my actual speed was 85.

The tires on the truck are the correct size. I was going to tweak the tire settings using forscan, but tire info doesn't show in the app.

Where do I look next?

ABS & Traction Control lights?

Anyone know what this issue might be for my 2016 ftc? My ABS and Traction control light have been coming on when I start my car for the last 3 days now. Sucks because it’s affecting my power steering and it’s not tracking my speed or miles. It’s done this in the past once or twice since I’ve owned it but not this consistent.
