Reason why I’m not a full time trader

Reason why I’m not a full time trader

For the last 4~5 years ive been a profitable trader but many people ask me “why dont you do it full time?”

My main answer to this is that Ive tried it and got bored. No purpose other than to make money.

I have a really nice corporate job with tons of flexibility which i enjoy a lot and lets me trade while at home.

So while i have the energy and time Ill do both and set all my trading gains asy retirement fund.

My lifestyle is based solely on my corporate job income, anything trading related gets saved up and invested

Finally fully automated

This finally works, and it’s now fully automated.

I know it’s too early to celebrate, but after 8 days of trying to find both the problem and the solution, I finally made it fully automated. The next step is adding Telegram alerts for every trade it takes, so I can use it on prop accounts as well.

I’m super excited about this. Even if I fail, I still loved every second of the process.

Right now, it’s at 7/9 full TP trades. I didn’t set a break-even function yet, and I probably won’t. And 2/9L

As for the small losing trades — those were just tests to see whether the code worked or not. I had a very hard time figuring out how to make everything fully automated, which is why there are several negative trades.

The last 3 trades are all from my bot.

2L and 7W for now.

Best forex broker Kenya?

I'm based in Kenya and want to start forex trading, but I'm struggling to find a reliable forex broker that actually works well here. Most international brokers either don't accept Kenyan traders or have deposit/withdrawal issues.

I'm looking for a forex broker that:

- Actually accepts traders from Kenya

- Supports M-Pesa or bank transfer deposits

- Has reasonable spreads on major pairs

- Processes withdrawals to Kenya quickly - Is regulated by a reputable authority (CySEC, FCA, etc)

- Has good customer support that responds to questions

I've heard stories about forex brokers in Kenya refusing payouts or requiring ridiculous verification processes. I want to avoid those issues completely.

For Kenyan forex traders, what broker have you had the best experience with? What should I look out for when choosing a platform?

Hyyy business

being independent is powerful, but refusing help from everyone forever can become isolating. Even the people who build large companies or institutions rely on:

advisors,

teams,

partnerships,

investors,

mentors,

and trusted networks.

Goal To Be A Full Time Trader

Hello, everyone. I'm just curious and in need of guidance. It has always been a goal of mine to be a full time trader, be it forex or stocks etc. I also understand that around 90% of traders fail. Additionally, I know that trading isn't a quick-rich scheme and it should be treated as a job like any other. Honestly, I'm not looking to get filthy rich or drive an intercontinental car and all that. I would just like to be a trader because I find it fascinating and the freedom it brings. Realistically, anything above $5,000 a month is good enough for me. I also do understand that even if I happen to be good at it, it will take time. I would just like a realistic path on how to be a profitable trader. Videos, books, who I should follow, any and all resources that I need to follow. Would love to hear especially from profitable traders who have done this for years.

Best forex trading platform for Singapore?

I’m currently looking into forex trading in Singapore and wanted to ask people here what they consider the best forex trading platform Singapore traders are actually using right now.

I’ve spent the last few days reading reviews and comparison sites, but almost every article says something different. Some focus only on spreads, others talk about regulation, while a few seem more interested in promoting referral links than giving real information.

What matters most to me is finding a platform that feels reliable over the long term. I care about things like execution speed, smooth withdrawals, stable charts and whether the platform performs properly during high volatility. I’m also trying to understand how important MAS regulation really is compared to trading conditions and fees.

I’ll mostly be trading forex pairs and probably doing a mix of swing trading and shorter term trades, so having good charting tools and a clean mobile experience would help a lot too.

For people trading forex from Singapore, what platform have you had the best experience with so far? Any issues with slippage, withdrawal delays, hidden fees or customer support that I should know about before opening an account?

Recommended forex brokers in Australia?

I’ve been spending a lot of time researching forex brokers in Australia lately and honestly the more I read, the harder it gets to figure out which ones are genuinely good. Every “recommended forex brokers Australia” article seems to rank different platforms at the top and most of the reviews feel more like advertisements than real opinions from traders.

I’m mainly looking for a broker that’s reliable long term, has tight spreads, fast execution and smooth withdrawals. Regulation matters a lot to me too, especially since I’m planning to move from demo trading into trading a live account more consistently. I’ll probably focus mostly on forex day trading and swing trading, so platform stability during volatility is important as well.

I’m also curious how much things like customer support and execution quality actually matter once you’ve been trading for a while. A lot of people online seem obsessed with spreads alone, but I’m guessing there’s more to choosing a good forex broker than just the lowest fees.

For traders based in Australia, what made you stick with your current broker? Any major red flags or things you wish you knew before opening an account?

Best trading platforms ireland?

I’m based in Ireland and looking into opening a proper trading account soon, but I’m honestly overwhelmed by how many platforms are out there now.

Every comparison site seems to rank things differently and half the reviews feel sponsored, so I figured I’d ask here instead.

Mainly looking for a trading platform in Ireland that’s:

- beginner friendly but still solid long term

- regulated and trustworthy

- low fees/spreads overall

- good for stocks, ETFs and maybe forex later on

- decent mobile app + charting tools

- easy deposits/withdrawals from Irish banks

Not really interested in gambling style apps or anything super complicated. I’d rather use something stable with good execution and transparent fees than chase “the cheapest” platform.

For people already trading or investing from Ireland, what platform have you stuck with and why? Have any of you switched platforms after a bad experience?

Also curious how important things like customer support, inactivity fees, currency conversion fees, etc. actually become once you’ve been using a platform for a while.

Would appreciate honest feedback from real users instead of review websites trying to push affiliate links.

Top forex brokers in Australia?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been getting more serious about forex trading recently and I’m trying to find out which are considered the top forex brokers in Australia right now. There’s a ton of information online, but most of it feels heavily biased or affiliate driven, so I’d rather hear from actual traders with real experience.

A few things I’m mainly looking for are:

- low spreads and fair commissions

- fast execution speeds

- reliable withdrawals

- strong regulation and trustworthiness

- good support during volatile market conditions

- MT4/MT5 or TradingView compatibility

- suitable for scalping, day trading and swing trading

I’m especially interested in hearing from people who trade forex regularly in Australia and have experience with different platforms over time. A lot of review sites rank brokers differently, which makes it hard to know what’s genuinely good and what’s just marketing.

For those actively trading, what factors made you stick with your current broker? Also curious if there are any major red flags or things I should watch out for before opening an account.

Would really appreciate honest opinions and real experiences.

Thanks!

The5ers, still trustworthy.

Finally got the payout I requested 7 days ago (business days, 9 days in total), so it stands correct when they say we'll get the payout in 5-8 business days. What we understand is that they're going through an expansion phase and actually got their hands full at the moment.

It was indeed very frustrating as the amount was just 3 digit and they've never taken more than a day for a payout before this, I've received 4 payouts from them till now in the last 8 months.

Thoughts on bot trading

Does anyone use bot for trading? How do they preform on real capital? Any suggestions or something I should be aware of?

Here is my bot on backtest, I'll run 6 more test that someone recommended me. And I need to say that I have 0.7RR it's not perfect but it's so far doing good on backtests

EURUSD:

2025: 81.17% (win rate), 239 trades

2024: 87.44%, 215 trades

2023: 79.08%, 196 trades

2022: 82.73%, 249 trades

2021: 85.27%, 258 trades

2020: 79.69%, 256 trades

2019: 86.72%, 256 trades

2018: 83.76%, 234 trades

2017: 81.94%, 216 trades

2016: 84.88%, 205 trades

2015: 85.60%, 243 trades

I was trying to run it on demo, but I couldn't figure out how to enable trading with Python, so I didn't have trades — I only got signals. In total, I had 6 trades (5 winning and 1 loss). I figured out what to do, but now I'm having problems with the internet connection and I can't test it live until next week.

And yes I asked chatgpt, deepseek, ect alot of questions but I want to hear opinions from someone with experience.
