On September 18, Axios reported that Infillion is acquiring Foursquare. The report said Infillion will evaluate the future of Swarm, "including open-source models and strategic partnerships." I've tried to start that conversation through LinkedIn and email without a reply, so I'm making the case here. Full disclosure: I'm the developer of HauntsIO, and that is the partnership I'm proposing.

Haunts.IO is a companion app for Swarm that utilizes its paid APIs. It starts with the check-in and keeps going where Swarm stopped. A member's full Swarm history imports with a couple clicks and overnight the server turns it into trip pages, flight maps, road-trip routes and written recaps the member never had to assemble themselves. Everything is available on iOS, Android and a full web app, so 18 years of history can be browsed on a laptop as easily as on a phone. Android Auto/CarPlay, Watch/Wear integrations included. You can bring over Google Timelines/Lists, Flighty and Jetlovers data, too.

For most of the past several years, Swarm's core experience changed very little, and its most loyal users (including myself) have years of check-ins with not much to show for them beyond a timeline, a few stickers and coins that do nothing. I'd like to offer my ideas as a compelling product.

I would like to talk with Infillion about how a partnership could bring HauntsIO's trips, maps and recaps to those users.

I'm hopeful to start a conversation that leads to something exciting for Swarm users.
