New K-drama Fan Diary #4: My Demon spoiled me
My Demon was one of the first K-dramas i ever watched and looking back i think it spoiled me a teenie tiny bit 😭
i watched it while it was airing in 2023 because clips from it was going viral on Twitter every day, before i actually became a K-drama PERSON, so i had absolutely no frame of reference except for maybe attorney woo?? which i watched before or after? my memory's a bit fuzzy on that, cause i dont remember registering Attorney Woo as a "kdrama" lol even though it was.
with My Demon tho, i thought oh okay??? this is what we’re doing over here???
the visuals, the chemistry and even tho the story wasn't the strongest or the most well written, i remembered enjoying the romance quite a bit.
My Demon was the ORIGINAL cotton candy 😭 Perfect Crown didn’t create this weakness in me, it merely exposed that My Demon got there first.
and because i was so new to K-dramas, i didn’t even appreciate how good i had it 😭 i had no idea i was subtly developing expectations that i'd then spend my next kdrama era demanding from most dramas that crossed my path.
which is extra funny now because i barely remember huge portions of the actual plot from My Demon😭😭 what i DO remember is how much i loved watching them together and how happy the drama made me. like the positive residue is STRONG.
having watched a truly unreasonable number of dramas now that im 3 months into my Drama Marathon that kicked off in June with My Royal Nemesis, i keep looking back at My Demon like…
oh. hmm... 🤔 you were kinda more formative than i first realized. . .
i have a "rewatch this in 3 years list" and My Demon is definitely on there in top 5
