I’ve flared as contemporary because I have to pick one, but a variety of genres.
I just read a book that will be released in a month. I found this website where people can apply to read books before they are publish. They can read them for free, in exchange of a honest review when you finish it!

Someone commented on this sub recently that they missed another user posting a roundup of Bookfunnel links so I've been slowly collecting them and trying to find the time to format and post. If this isn't helpful or there's no interest in this I won't do it next month. Some of these promotions end soon, I'll highlight those dates in bold. I've split them up by genre (roughly).
My advice would be avoid the books with covers that look AI generated. There are many real, talented authors who take part in these promotions (I collate these links from mailing lists I'm on) and I've found some real gems over time, but there's also a lot of crap to wade through, depending on how discerning you are.
These kind of promotions rely on you signing up to an author's mailing list in order to download their book for free. You could create a secondary free email account where you direct "spam" emails like this, or you could set up a filtering system in accounts like Gmail (anything from authors gets automatically filtered and labelled as "Books" in my Gmail, then I unsubscribe from the ones I'm not interested in).
I've seen this book and author recommended a few times on r/HistoricalRomance a few times, so it was already on my TBR!
