If the show wasn't built around Will Smith, Alfonso Ribeiro would have been the breakout star

He's funnier than Will Smith, more talented and in my opinion, his dramatic scenes were effective without feeling forced but because the show was built around Will Smith,Will Smith was able to branch off into movies while Alfonso Ribeiro always be known as Carlton Banks.

Will asked out Karyn Parsons during filming: "[Karyn] was smart enough to tell me 'hell no' when I tried to explain that we were not really cousins so it would be fine if we dated. Telling her, 'I swear it won't mess up our working relationship.' She knew better than that — good call, K.P."
