Windows 11 ltsc is not a solution

So as I've been seeying people in r/linuxsucks101 say that windows 11 ltsc is what you should use if you have problems with the bloat and telemetry i have decided to give it a shot for a few months and frankly i hate it so much i switched back to normal release.

Some of the issues i had include:

- startup menu bugging out constantly and refusing to show my apps.

- a never ending amount of connexion issues, I can't download anything without having the download fail on me every 2-3 mins.

- screenshot tool doesn't work, i have to manually open up the snipping tool and take them that way.

- can't use notepad dark mode.

And there are other issues i haven't mentioned as I'm not entirely sure they are exclusive to windows 11 ltsc,

I would switch back to linux as I've been using arch on and off for years but i still need software that only works properly on windows.

my laptop is bricked for 30 days because my old email got deleted.

i changed my secondary email today because my old one was deleted due it it being for an organisation that i am no longer a part of. i open my laptop and it gives me an error saying that i have to reset my pin??? which would be fine if i didnt have to access my microsoft account security info to do that which is now locked for 30 days due to the secondary email change. after slamming my head into a wall i decide that my work is probably online somewhere and go ahead and attempt to factory reset my device. it asks me for a bitlocker encryption code, which i cannot access FOR 30 DAYS BECAUSE I CHANGED MY SECONDARY EMAIL, MY LAPTOP IS A PAPERWEIGHT FOR THE NEXT 30 DAYS. next week i have exams, they are primarily online and i do not have the money to buy a new laptop. im so fed up with microsoft they really just turned my laptop into useless scrap

25H2 is the worst version of Windows 11.

I loved windows 11 when it came out, if you compare to windows 10 which was a disaster for years, but win11 remained mostly good but 25H2 sucks hard

25H2 -

  1. explorer "freezes" and it causes everything to glitch taskbar, file manager, desktop
  2. high RAM usage by system
  3. random freezes

I am selling my laptop immediately

https://preview.redd.it/gcjyowdd1c2h1.png?width=641&format=png&auto=webp&s=24d19a47b6752008c568f72be94592e119a534fe

I got another update where they have enabled copilot which has been disabled since I bought my laptop last year.

Also, It seems that a lot of tweaks and programs that managed to turn off the updated for long periods of time no longer work. I've tried it manually, installing Winaero Tweaker for disabling the updates, I've watched again all the youtube tutorials that I usually do when I get a new laptop. I tried that famous Chris Titus's 'The Ultimate Windows Utility' tool. Nothing works anymore!

This is not the first time I'm ranting here about the forced updates. I could live with that up until now. Now it hits different. I now see the cracks in this system. The cracks where I see that I don't have control of a product that I payed for. And they do with that product what they want, without asking me, the owner of that product.

I have been a loyal windows user way back when the XP was released.

I am selling this piece of shit immediately. Looks like Apple got a new follower up coming. They just waited until Microsoft fucked it up. And they did.

Easy Way to Stop Windows Update!

I have a ~10 year old IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad that I paid >$3000 to buy for very important business use. Since I have no intention of redoing setting up all the apps I have setup there, I have to fight to stop Windows Update from destroying it like it did to one of my other old PC.

The sneaky Windows Update service keeps re-enabling itself after repeated manual stop/disable. It and other stuff like MSFT Antimalware service detects the PC being idle and starts to use CPU (for bitcoin mining for MSFT who knows?) and the PC fan will start to spin (dusts / aged fan causing overheating is the main cause of old laptop dying). As a proof, as soon as I start using the PC the CPU usage goes back to 0% and fan stops.

I use a mouse wigger to trick them into thinking the PC is in use, but it only works sometimes.

But I found a really good way to stop all this I wanted to share. In my C drive there is a file that is exactly 1GB in size. I simply copy & paste this file repeatedly until the empty space in C drive drops below ~1GB. Now Windows Update have no space to download update and will stop using CPU and my PC is dead quiet with no fan running.

As soon as I need to install some app and need disk space, I simply remove some of these copied files and make just enough space.

Hopefully this trick helps!

Why do Windows users cling to Windows 10 for dear life

I wasn’t sure to flare this as a meme, but like I’m genuinely curious. Windows 10 isn’t even that good, a bunch of apps have lost support for it.

Literally just use Debian 13.5 with KDE plasma and you’ll have like the same experience minus relying on telemetry and bloat. Learn a few bash commands and run proton, wine, or a VM in a container if you really need windows apps that bad 🤷‍♂️

Microsoft forced Lenovo to put a Copilot key on my laptop. I run Linux. It does nothing. We paid for their advertisement on hardware we own.

Lenovo LOQ, Linux Mint user here. That shiny Copilot key? Completely dead. Does absolutely nothing.

Microsoft made this key mandatory for OEM certification — so Lenovo had no choice. They literally removed the right Ctrl key that existed for 30 years and replaced it with a branded Microsoft button.

EU banned IE bundling in 2009. But a permanent AI logo burned into physical hardware? Crickets.

You can uninstall software. You cannot remove a key from your keyboard.

This is hardware-level vendor lock-in and nobody's talking about it.

HELP. I KEEP HAVING MY LAPTOP DO STUPID SHIT. I'M TIRED OF IT.

CAN I PLAY ALL MY STEAM GAMES ON LINUX MINT?

ALSO, WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED. I'M SCARED AS BALLS. 🥹💔

PLEASE. ANYONE. HELP.

Goodness swiftkey..

Welp. As an Android user recently having switched to iPhone, swiftkey was my way to stay sane, however, the new update, Microsoft prompts you to log into a Microsoft account every time you open the keyboard.

Gboard will have to suffice. Fuck Microsoft.
