Anyone have Dante's theme with the record player filter?

I'm putting together a playlist of the music from 2003 and Brotherhood and was disappointed to not be able to find any variants of Dante's theme played through her record player (how we hear it the first few times). Anyone have an audio file for it/link to some video I've been unable to find?

If FMA 2003 had a manga, what aspects would you modify?

These are the changes or additions I would make:

  1. Give Lyra a little more time or some kind of motivation or attempt to improve as a person, so that later it feels tragic that she dies, since I'm also going to do that part with a certain mystery and horror approach (imagine that the sweet old lady that you are taking care of and who is your teacher out of nowhere starts acting in a sinister way, in a dark house in the middle of a forest)

2)Dante's role as "Lyra", I want to feel the sensation that although the viewer knows that something is not right, that the audience intuits it with subtle clues, trying to disguise Dante's attitude a little, as if she were playing to pretend that she is Lyra (having already lived with her and knowing how she acts), people do not usually consider how difficult it is to actually impersonate another person, he should imitate the gestures, way of speaking, personality (and let's not talk about the fact that how we act with one person is not the same as with another) but I think I'm already searching a lot. In short, I want it to sit there but not be seen at first glance, I feel that the anime does it well but if you see it twice it is more than enough and it becomes too obvious to ask yourself "I really didn't see that coming?" And more than anything, one already knew that something was wrong, I just wanted to know how it happened.

  1. show a little more of Envy's "true" personality, a bit of a parallel like Wrath's with Sloth, but with Dante, for example she doesn't have Envy's human remains, so one wonders "why does she listen to him without revealing herself?" human, I don't explain myself well, something like a kind of twisted maternal role where she encourages him to behave like the son of **** that he is throughout the series so that he acts as a good tool, but when the topic becomes very personal (like when he finds out that Hohenheim returned, he begins to disobey, I don't like parallels, remember that in this series being a homunucle is basically a curse, I like, for example, how Envy reacts when Dante erases Gluttony's way of thinking (and how he gets scared for a moment) as if he thought what he could do to him when he wants to be clever. Also, he always considers in Headcanon that Envy is the strongest homunculus of the 7 because of the way he was born (Supposedly, according to theories, he was born when the eastern city was destroyed to create a complete human being, I want to assume that it was Hohenheim trying to revive his son with some type of more powerful transmutation like that of the "grand arcanum" and try to make parallels with Ed and Al, (and that he did not kill them before when they were children because Dante did not let him), also along with the part of how Sloth dies, who at first is enjoying eating Ed and Al fight against his "mother" but then gets angry when Sloth says those words of encouragement to his children before dying, something that reminds him of his misery and that Dante never I would say.

  2. this is the fastest of all, I don't like the idea of the machine gun in the mouth, it seems very silly to me, even for a world where alchemy exists, there are homunculi and artificial implants/prostheses, talking chiemras and other things, I just don't think it works for the rules that the world of FMA itself applies. Tell him that maybe he has a hidden weapon, not in his shoulder or knee (like Paninya)

  3. I already know that the "relationship" of these 2 is not the best of all (in this version) but it never hurts to have some scenes at the right moments so that it feels like something more natural or that due to circumstances it cannot function as it should, I also feel that Ed prioritizes more than anything that Al has his body again before his own happiness, I mean it would be in bad taste to be taking advantage of all the benefits of having a body while your brother is an empty can of metal, I understand why They never focused on that, but I would have liked to see even a little more of the two of them, as something tragic, that by the time Al recovers his body and does not believe that they will be able to live in peace and interact more (because I do not think that at this point Ed will mind not having his arm and leg), in the end he ends up not being able to enjoy spending time with his already recovered brother or with Winry, stuck in another world

  4. put a little more on Rose (as in the case of Lyra) show how she comes up with the idea of "the holy mother" to help the people of Liro, using manipulation with a holy or messianic figure (as Conrello did) but unlike him, she does it in order to help and protect the inhabitants of Lior who have already suffered a lot. and give her a little more of that personality of "get up and move on" or "help others get up" and make it seem like she and Lyra are friends (we know you already know that) and that when everything seems darker, that the villains are going to win and those who have been suffering and enduring the entire series, in the end they are rewarded and Rose lives peacefully in Rasembool until they rebuild Lior (Reole) in The conqueror of Shamballa.

7)I always liked how there were fights in the openings/Ova)Ending that did not appear in the series, I would have liked to see them but I know that the plot is justified so that there are not those fights but hey, I would like to see some excuse so that Al can fight at the end and the entire end is not on the ground until he gets up and uses the stone. I don't know any narrative way to think about it, I also really liked the idea of a fight with the homunculi in a cemetery and I was thinking of some way to implement it.

This was my intro to anime at 30yo and I just need to word vomit about how much I love FMA03.

Last year I started watching anime and reading Manga, because I am a huge fantasy/sci-fi/horror fan and I got to the point where I felt like I’d watched/read everything in those genres from western media and I was so tired of C-list crap to fill the void.

Apparently I’ve been missing out on like so much good fucking shit.

Anyway, I picked FMA03 to watch h first because I’d seen so many references to Shou Tucker and Nina. I wasn’t sure if I should do 03 first or Brotherhood, and just picked the older one.

Guys.

This altered my brain lmao. I love this show and story so much. I watched Brotherhood immediately after and it’s good, but it’s just not the same for me.

TBH, I don’t really care about the battles and think that part is boring (but I’ve always thought that, in LOTR and ASOIAF etc, battles are just blah blah blah to me too), so I was really only interested in the characters, the worldbuilding, and the story.

Ed and Al are fantastic characters. I was immediately attached to them and invested in whatever was to come for them.

I didn’t realise Shamballa was a thing and when I thought that Ed and Al ended up in separate universes and that was just…the end I literally cried so hard I threw up and that’s never happened to me before hahaha. I was not okay.

I can’t really explain exactly why I like 03 so much more than brotherhood, maybe it’s just the overall tone and gravity/maturity, but I just think that it was such an interesting and beautiful piece of art and storytelling.

I get so frustrated with the main sub because it feels like you can’t say that you prefer 03. Someone told me to be careful watching 03 fist because I might get confused about what is canon. Why can’t they just be 2 different stories with 2 different canons?

Since finishing both versions of FMA, I’ve watched Castlevania, Devilman Crybaby, AOT, and DanDaDan; and I also started reading manga, I’ve read Fire Punch, Dorohedoro, Chainsawman, and Berserk. My faves are: Berserk, AOT, Dorohedoro, and FMA03. If anyone has recs based on these please lmk!!

Did this serve any purpose or was it just to cause shock?

When Winry finds out about Juliet Douglas, she says she's going to contact Ed and Al to warn them not to trust the military, but... that's where it ends. She doesn't tell Ed and Al about the homunculus with their mother's face, she doesn't tell them that the Führer's secretary is a homunculus, she says nothing. Ed and Al figure it out on their own. Maybe I'm missing some details or explanation. What do you think?

How could Lyra have died?

I know the mystery lies in not explaining how it happened, but it always intrigued me. In my headcanon: Dante (as an old woman) tells Lyra to find Greed's bones and prepare a trap for him, as he approaches the house. Everything is ready when Lyra is ready to protect her teacher. Dante simply approaches calmly from behind and changes bodies. Dante's old body is perhaps destroyed by the transmutation, or I don't know. If you think about it, it seems like a scene from a horror movie.

For thought: Would it be a good or bad idea to explore a possible short romance between Edward and Noah? (This isn't a repost; this time I thought carefully about what I'm going to say.)

Okay, first of all, this idea was pure chance, and I'm not going to include it in my fanfic because I simply don't think it fits with the story or the essence of Fullmetal Alchemist, nor with the FMA audience (the majority of the public). Okay, my idea would be, what if, for a brief moment, Ed and Noah were romantically involved? Before I sound like a typical fan who likes to ship characters just for the sake of it, let me ask you this: setting aside fan thinking and thinking like a director or writer, the romance between these two could serve a purpose in the plot, and not just for the sake of it. Both characters have things in common, and I honestly feel that Noah could have been developed further. I'm not saying she'll do everything, but if she can "read people," she could have interacted more. Besides, she could be one of the few characters who understand Ed, plus the theme of Noah feeling like he doesn't fit in anywhere because of his social standing and his "psychic abilities." I don't know. Also, many say that Fullmetal Alchemist is "darker and more mature," but I think they're sticking to the basics or what they consider dark. And even though this version doesn't give us much development of Ed and Winry's relationship (like in Brotherhood), it seems like people take what little there is and make headcanon out of it. Whether they end up together or subconsciously associate Ed with Winry, I don't know, I'm getting way off track. I'm just saying that, IN MY OPINION, it's not so bad that Ed and Noah are a couple (for a very short time, due to plot developments). Besides, they could explore previously unseen facets of the character, like how he relates romantically to someone, or something I saw in another post about whether "Ed had trauma from his past experiences" or "is an alcoholic." Those would be interesting topics to explore. What do you think?

Unreleased OST

Anyone wishes the FMA soundtrack was truly complete? Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice to have most of the tracks, but I wish we had all of them.

The tracks I’m talking about are:
- The piano version of Brothers
- “Kei” without the organ and only the choir
- The second version of “Equivalent Exchange” which is more intense
- The quicker-paced version of “The Way Back” at the end of the anime
- The harmonica version of “Brothers”

These are the ones that come to mind first. There’s also a track I cannot identify in Episode 16 when Ed is chasing the umbrella girl.

I also wonder why they included “Pointless argument” in the soundtrack when it’s only played during an episode preview afaik.

Finally, I wish we have the TV-sized versions of all the openings and endings. I believe only “Melissa” and “Kesenai Tsumi” exist in the soundtrack.
