Ive been mostly distracted by painting AMech allies for my Imperial Knights this week so not had much time to get any Fyreslayers done. I did manage the Underworlds warband - The Chosen Axes though.
There’s nothing fancy about them, they’re straight out of the box.
I wanted to paint the Urlung Lodge, but I feel like something is missing from this color scheme. Do you have any suggestions on how I could improve it? :)
I know its not fully done yet. I was trying this Paintscheme and I am quite happy with it. Mine should look like a Duergar. I want to Paint the whole Army to this Level and then finish them. What do you guys think about him so far?
Coming from 40K and looking into starting Fyreslayers as my first AoS army. Is now a good time to start? Any recommendations on starter boxes to buy or what to avoid? Thanks in advance!
Over the weekend I managed to paint up another batch of Fyreslayers. This week is a Grimwrath Berserker and the Vulkyn Flameseekers
I did change the bases for the Flameseekers by putting all of them on 32mm bases to make them aesthetically the same as every other Fyreslayer models. I also chose to arm them with the Bokaz shovel-spears to make the unit a bit more unique. Fyreslayers have no shortage of units swinging big axes.
The final unit in this phase is Vulkites with shields and axes, however in waiting for some bitz to get shipped so that might be a while before we see them. To keep up the momentum I’m going to dive into the third phase of this project - the royal family and their retainers.

so I am a few games, like 10 or so, and starting to understand the game more. I think I have gotten some significant thing wrong. can someone help me out?
1.) when you use emergence on a unit turns out that is on the hero phase, not the movement phase. does that mean the unit can move as normal?
2.) does battle damage on a magmadroth lower the attacks from 6 to 4 or raise the attacks from 4 to 6? I have been playing it raises to 6 for some reason. I think because of the way the prayer wrath of vulcatrix is written When I first started I assumed you get stronger with more damage.
3.) With the SoG runeson on magmadroth, does the +1 damage from fire, blood, and vengeance make the runefathers attacks stronger or the SoG runeson +1 damage?
4.) I still have no idea why anyone would take broad axes over pole axes and sling shields over fyresteel weapons. whats the point of a battlesmith? Seems terrible. Same with a doom seeker or a runes on foot. What am I missing? Is it something along the lines of “those heroes just aren’t that good so no one takes them” sort of thing we have going on?
edit: 5.) can manifestations use command points like for power through or reroll a charge? I never have but I just saw something that made me think otherwise.
please help and if there are general rules that I am missing or other things that are super confusing please let me know.

hi there so I always had the intention to buy an army for a few years now and only have a few models so far. I saw recently there’s been talk of the fyreslayers being rebranded/merged into a new dwarf faction and being discontinued. If it’s true then it’s to the doomgron for me then lol.

My brother has been wanting to get a full 2k point army in Age of Sigmar for a while, after playing spearhead for a bit. The army that appealed to him the most was Fyreslayers. I told him about some of the rumors surrounding the army, but even then he decided Magmadroths were way too cool to pass up.
I know very little about Fyreslayers myself, so I was wondering if anyone had any good Magmadroth-focused lists, general tips, or advice for getting started with the army. Any help would be appreciated!
