First off, I didn’t get to watch the series proper until late today and from what I had heard I assumed it would be like 30-0 in kill scores every game so I was pleasantly surprised G2 managed to at least put up some resistance. It at least felt better than the KC series vs TL, which just felt like an actual pro team playing against an autofilled soloQ team.

Still though, what I came away with the most strongly from watching the HLE series was that G2 can’t keep trying to beat aggressive eastern teams at their own style. Hans Sama hasn’t played a mage botlane in years, BB is just so much better at playing weak side than strong side, and Caps just cannot pick a squishy immobile mage like Syndra into HLE T1 BLG. I think G2 have a better chance by trying to FORCE the game into a shape that they can work through. So here’s my plan on how that could be done

1. Draft. Pick as many anti fun anti dive champs as possible. Poppy Taliyah Tahm Kench Renata LISSANDRA Vex Maokai Xayah etc etc etc

2. Shut down this mage bot roaming support nonsense. Either play to perma dive bot with bot support jungle, having Caps keep mid pushed so enemy mid can’t roam to cover, or just have Labrov roam and match enemy support and stop every attempt at a play.

3. Bring back boring toplaners. I don’t know if Udyr/Zac/Rek’sai are still viable toplaners but if not them then the closest we can get to them. The cure to these annoying mf mages bot is to take advantage of their low DPS and out sustain them, so get a frontline with as much sustain as possible.

Yes it means we’ll have to sack grubs constantly but the third grub is the only one that really matters, if you can steal that it means you can play low prio top with no consequences.

Today was rough, but we have seen rough already. And we have also seen greatness afterwards. Let's see against T1 what they can do.

Bb is such a good player when he is on tank or very tanky bruisers, why are we keep trying to force other picks with him, makes 0 sense to me same with Hans what is the reason for seraphine when game 2 proved that if you give him this mobile hyper carries he can play the game and finally why tf skewmond doesn't keep playing champions that can run people down not lee not wukong I just want to see the ghost champions running people.

This series was a reality check. Either we praise players to the moon or criticise them. Both of them can be true at times bc they have their ups and downs. But there is no middle ground. I understand it’s nice to cope and especially after first stand there was reason for it. However, the same way we need to be able to criticise them, after the gameplay of today. I’m just astonished about how quick all of it can come falling down.

I guess the sad realisation is, that it seems impossible to actually compete with the best teams. First stand was an anomaly and is due to different factors coming together at the same time. G2 was overperforming and lck was underperforming. As simple as that. This series was how it’s supposed to look like. Watching our goat being so insanely gapped, makes it really hard to have hope. Everything seemed desperate. I’m not even going to talk about the other players. This looked like the G2 almost losing to Furia at last years MSI.

Unless we develope generational talent in Europe, we can have as many coaches, performance coaches, breathing exercises and gym sessions as we want but we will never be able to compete. I think the tes series already showed, that the level of play wasn’t the best, especially seeing them being beaten by tsw. All I’m saying is, that we shouldn’t overhype this team and call people haters, if they critique and say the truth. Also, I hope we at least put up a fight against T1.

Did we scrim against HLE before the stage game or something? Cause in the first game we were ok, we handled them really well, but it’s still not our usual gameplay. I feel for the past 3 games Skewmond has been behind Kanavi in decisions making. Labrov pivoting to enchanter instead of his comfort. We get out drafted, and Hans is not playing like himself. The only player that I think is ok and somehow manage to be even in lane is Caps, and that’s pretty much it.

There’s literally no winning with these people online. The only way is to prove we have what it takes to go toe to toe with HLE/BLG/T1. Hope the boys give it their all and shut the haters up

Title. Not to dog on the boys, I love them and I still will continue believing in them till the end, but I cannot shake off the feeling that the way the team is playing is eerily similar to MSI 2025. Skew isn't really showing up, hans is getting mega gapped, BB is on weird unstable picks (although I think he wasn't really the issue here) and caps is giga 1v9. Only difference is labrov is playing much better still. Come on boys! You came a long way since then, don't fall back into old patterns please!

Go ahead and crush HLE tomorrow.
