Recommendations for a quieter exhaust?

The coupe I bought recently came with the full z1 touring catback. And I've decided I want a new exhaust. Will be selling this one, it's still in excellent shape. I want a quieter exhaust. Maybe a smidge louder than factory, but not a ton. Vqs do not sound good loud. At all. Leaning to perhaps the revel medallion?

Volume is hard to judge unless your actually there so if anyone has any input I'd appreciate it.

Window out of alignment?

Just bought this car so don’t know the history. I saw on another forum post all I have to do is take the window out basically put it back in and properly align it but I can’t find anything else on it or how to do that lmao.

I need guidance 2005 g35 overheating

have a 2005 Infiniti G35 that is overheating. I already know that the driver-side radiator fan is not working. When I turn the heat on full blast and drive on the highway, the temperature stays around normal and does not overheat. However, when I’m driving locally, especially in traffic or when stopped at red lights, the temperature rises quickly and starts to overheat.

I also have these codes:

  • P1217 – Engine Over Temperature
  • P1272 – A/F Sensor 1 Bank 1
  • P0300 – Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire

I also noticed an oil leak on the driver side around the valve cover area. The passenger side is completely dry and spotless. I’m not sure if the oil leak could have been caused or made worse by the overheating, or if it is a separate issue.

Another thing I noticed is that when I checked the radiator, there was little to no coolant visible in the radiator, even though the coolant reservoir has stayed at the MAX level for the past day or two. Even after driving, the reservoir still appears to stay at MAX, so I don’t think the system is pulling coolant from the reservoir into the radiator.

Could the bad radiator fan be the main reason it overheats in traffic? Could the radiator being low while the reservoir stays full indicate a problem with the radiator cap, air in the cooling system, thermostat, water pump, or another issue? I’m also wondering if the overheating could be related to the P0300 misfire or the oil leak.

What should I check first?

What’s your guys’ take on this

My 2005 G35 started giving me a slow start and often times not starting (requiring a jump) a few weeks ago. Since then I’ve replaced the battery, the terminals, and the alternator and nothing seemed to fix the issue. Finally, yesterday i was stuck at a liquor store unable to start the car and the guy who was helping me out told me there’s probably some device drawing power and draining my battery which could’ve been my dash cam or carplay screen i had gotten installed (both about a year ago). About 10 minutes ago i disconnected the hardwired dash cam and the car seems to be starting up just fine now, so what exactly changed that made the dash camera suddenly cause issues?

Other Maintenance to do while doing Timing Chain Job

Hey guys, I’m planning on getting the Z1 Timing Chain Kit, Thermostat, and Water Pump. As my 04 G35 coupe with 255k km’s cold start rattle is happening a lot more , and after highway driving a high pitch noise popped up somewhere in the Engine.

Just wondering what other Maintenance I should get done while the Engine is already open.

I’m considering
- Gallery Gasket
- Alternator
- Radiator (All Aluminum?)
- Some Silicone Hoses
- Radiator Fans

Thank you in Advance!

07 G35 Oil Leak

I’ve had this g35 for about a year now it’s ran good no problems or check engines. Only problems i’ve ran into was when i first got it which was the gauge cluster but since moving into a new house i noticed i was leaking oil, i thought it was my oil pan since the car is slammed i thought it could have cracked or the seal went bad changed it out and was still leaking. I got under the car with a flashlight and see oil dripping from these spots any ideas ?

VDC off/slip lights

I’ve seen and tried some youtube quick fixes to take care of the vdc/slip light on my 2006 G35x. Still no luck. All new brakes all around, fluids topped off. No CEL/SEL. Not sure what else to check. It being an AWD model I’m sure adds another degree of wtf could it be. Any ideas? ABS sensors?

Sitting at a red light and car shut off

2004 g35x 105k mileage, regularly serviced, and I know nothing about cars.

Was sitting at a light and car just shut off. The “service engine”, “brake”, and “battery” lights all came on. I put it into park and the car slowly went in reverse until I put it into neutral and turned the ignition on getting it back to normal and successfully drove home.

What the hell was this?

These are two clips showing what I mean. My car has no check engine but the abs, traction and slip light turn on. Also the car isnt accelerating right. These two clips were taken with me pressing the gas pedal all the way down. Does anyone know what it can possibly be? My throttle body is new and I am gonna try to do the relearn which I dont think it is because It was good when I slapped it on and now I have this problem out of no where.

Reliable wheel bearings g35x 2005

Replaced both fronts wheel bearings on the 05 g35x with nva wheel bearings from z1 property installed following all tq specs including on the axle nut. That being said my right has started to make noise after 12k miles or so. I really would prefer to replace it and be done instead of going back every once and a while to do it again.

Does anyone have good alternatives not to much info out there first hand experience is preferable bonus points if you know where to find them and the current part number.

2003 g35 slight tick/knock

Hey everyone, new to the vq life. I just picked up this 2003 g35 with 260k kilometer’s and when i got it home i noticed a little tick/ knock over 2k rpms. Is this normal for vq's? Or is it possibly a timing chain/tensioner going out. Its got oil and runs really good just that noise.

03 coupe manual

Figured if I was going to post anywhere, this would be the place. Not anything show car quality, all work done in my driveway in my spare time. Car remained my daily through the entire process. Got tons of hate while she was looking rough especially when I drove for a month with no bumper, skirts or spoiler. But here we are, car is in one color, all paint and clearcoat damage is no more! Original damage came from a heavy storm that threw branches and pinecones from a tree onto my car causing full clearcoat failure. Final step is cut and polish since some panels got orange peel due to my own inexperience but in most light car looks great as is. It’s so nice not being embarrassed to drive my g around town now
