GAMEYE Sync is out! So many years in the making!

It's been a long journey. We've always wanted to have user's have the ability to synchronize their data between a website and share with friends. But we had so many things we had to do first.

  • Take control of and enhance the data -- the first year, all we did was build up our own db and enhance it with region data, more imagery, documentation/manuals, metacritic, HLTB, etc...
  • Build out the website so users could manage their data online. Still more work to do in this area but it works!
  • Deeply test a synchronization method that could handle users managing their data from multiple devices while still having all of the "offline" first capabilities. Figure out how to run it as cheaply as possible to make it free.
  • Keep privacy minded. Still no tracking. Still no ads. Your collection data is private by default and you can either make it public or set a select set of users that can view your data. As always, users can continue to use the app fully offline and manage their own data.
  • Granular control -- keep your collection private and your wishlist public, like me!

Go get it now. And please tell your friends! Tell other communities! If you have ANY issues please let us know so we can address them as quickly as possible.

Excited for everyone to try this

How accurate are GAMEYE’s price estimates?

I’ve been using GAMEYE to keep track of my new retro JRPG collection, and I was wondering how accurate everyone finds the price estimates in the app.

Right now it has my 19 games valued at about ¥169,938. That’s actually around ¥30,000 more than I’ve paid for the collection so far, which was a little surprising to me.

All my games were bought here in Japan, and condition varies a bit, so I know things like being complete in box, box/manual condition, and Japanese market prices can make a pretty big difference.

For those of you who have used GAMEYE for a while, how accurate do you find the prices? Are they generally close to what games are actually selling for, or should I take the collection value with a pretty big grain of salt?

Feature Request - Filter by Publisher

Love the app and use it just about everyday. Have just over 500 games and about 13 consoles. I primarily collect home console stuff. I frequently filter lists to look at specific groups of games and one filter I’d like to see that was missing is a filter by Publisher/Developer option. Also it would be nice to have a field for our own purchase date that we could sort by. Again, love the app! Keep doing what you’re doing. Thanks!!

Cataloging my collection

I just found the gameye app and its so easy to use. Ive accidentally bought multiples of the same game because I didnt keep track.

I thought I had 1000 games easy but I might fall short. Ive yet to do nes,snes,n64,sega,gameboys and ds,3ds.

I hope it will be enough to survive the end of physical i am not buying a digital next gen.

Pausing Vs. Dropping a game

Hello all. This may be a silly question, but how do you all classify a game's play status as paused vs. dropped? Is a dropped game you put down and will NEVER come back to? Is it a paused game you've put down for a certain amount of time? Alternatively, how long do you not play a game before you consider it "paused"?

Is there a way I can change which picture is displayed?

If not it’s cool, just messes with my OCD a bit lol

Putting out a call for any talented writers who would want to make an article for GAMEYE! The hero banners in the app (in beta) and now the banner on the site are controlled via an on site tool. Like a small Wordpress engine. Let me know your idea if you're interested!
