Ram/William (he's got two names), as depicted in the image looking at the audience, is a boot licker. He served in the Bengali Volunteers during the invasion of Java, his rank acquired through his father's wealth. Unfortunately, his father didn't look past the fact that the Bengali volunteers actually consisted of North Indians, Pakistanis, and Afghans, not Bengali people at all.

Being born in Britain, Ram suffers an extraordinary inferiority complex. This is through racial triangulation, where Ram feels pressured to be the "model minority". His service in Java amplified this desire to be loved amongst his Anglican superiors. Ram repeatedly snitched on comrades in the Bengali Volunteers, going as far as to out their plans to thwart the British sacking of Yogyakarta. So, congratulations to Ram for letting Java be robbed of their resources.

Ram's military record is... Fine. He's a shoddy translator and acts as the bridge between the Bengali Volunteers and British. He was nothing exemplary really. Someone needs to humble him ASAP.
