Hello everybody!

I am very interested in the WedsSport TC105X Forged for my Mk1 GR Yaris. My question is whether or not 18x9.5J ET 35 would fit on my GR Yaris. The car is basically bone stock but I am also looking at the KWV3s.

Has anyone ever ran a 18x9.5J ET35 setup on their GR Yaris and will it fit or rub?

Cheers

Ohlins Suspension adjustment

Might be a bit of a shot in the dark but i recently have had ohlins road & track suspension installed and it has been amazing for track/hillclimb races however I need to adjust them back for road use again as it rides far to firm for a long journey.

I imagine its similar to other cars but I cant figure it out at all, can anyone help?

2020 near me. Does anything look particularly questionable in this engine bay photo?

Hello all. I’m inquiring on a 2020 near me. Other than the general dirtiness, I see a fastener or two here and there that look a little a little more corroded than I’d anticipate seeing. Does anything jump out as concerning? Dealer offers a 2 year bumper-to-bumper warranty which I’d definitely add. Just the same, I’d rather ask you all.

Boot liner and cup holder

New Gen 2 owner here. Would really appreciate any advice on boot liners and cup holders for the rhd vent? I was looking at the lamspeed ones but looks like they are only for Gen 1. For some stupid reason I often have three coffees with me and need the extra holder

Before & After, what car did you come from?

Recently upgraded my Swift Sport for my GR Yaris Circuit. Fills a similar niche just a thousand times more extreme.
Curious what other people drove before getting into a Yaris?

Transfer case groan

2025 manual gen 2 gry. 100% stock, MFF mudflaps are the only thing I’ve done to it.

6 months and 5k kms into ownership I took the car for a trip from Sydney to Sunshine Coast (1000+ kms) over 2 days. After arriving I noticed the car making a groaning sound at full lock when parking, which also binded something up as it also slowed the car down, feeling like the brakes were applied when it groaned. The groan only happened at crawling speeds when turning very tight.

Immediately took it to a dealership in Sunshine Coast and told them I thought it was either the brakes or rear differential, they changed the diff fluid. Groan was still there but I hoped it was all okay as I’ve heard of these torsen diffs sometimes making weird sounds, ect, but are fine. So I drove it home another 1000kms back to Sydney and have been using it as a daily since putting an extra 5000 kms on it. Now has just over 10,000 kms.

A week ago I took it in for its 12 month service, told them about the groan, took a tech for a test drive and he said he noticed it straight away (which I was very pleased about because at Sunshine Coast the tech said he couldn’t hear or feel it. Being the last day they were open before Christmas I think he just didn’t want to deal with it so he pretended he couldn’t hear it and ignored it.

Got a call the day after I gave the car to the dealership saying they have found the sound is coming from the transfer case and not the diff like I assumed and it needs to be removed for inspection. They’ll also show Toyota who will then decide whether or not it’s covered under warranty.

Anybody heard of or experienced any transfer case issues? Had a failed transfer case, ect?

I don’t track the car, drove it “spiritedly” through twisty mountain roads less then half a dozen times, had it on a dirt road twice where I again drove it “spiritedly” but nothing crazy, no handbrake drifts, no full sideways or rally style action. It’s just a daily for me and I baby the car. Never even redlined it, I’ve gotten it close to redline a dozen or so times but I generally drive it like a granny.

I know premature clutch issues with this car are often denied warranty because it’s a wear item and in 2026 most people have never driven a manual so don’t know how to treat a clutch. But what about a transfer case? Is there any chance I could have worn out a transfer case before my tires, brake pads, or any other wear item is even half worn out. Or is this 100% a faulty/defected transfer case?

I love cars but I’m no mechanic. Hop in some much more knowledgeable people can chime in and share their thoughts, opinions or experiences.

Double din retrofit

Would it be possible to retrofit one of those old double din CD players in place of the screen in the first gen?

Lamspeed exhaust for GR Yaris Gen 2

I have recently installed the Lamspeed Racing SS304 Stainless Steel Catback Exhaust for my gr yaris gen 2. The exhaust did not fit well. It has to hang slightly lower to be able to fit onto the car. After consulting with Lamspeed, they said they did that on purpose because they said apparently some Gen 1 users complained that the exhaust is melting the rear bumper. But when i look at Lamspeed instagram, all their recent gr yaris photos have shown that the exhausts fit perfectly and they don't hang lower than usual. Its not really a huge issue but It just looks aesthetically unpleasing to me. The photo doesnt do it justice. It looks worse in real life. Have anyone installed one recently from lamspeed and is also having the same issue?
