Today I got an update, that updated the My Files app to the one of One UI 8.5
I completely forgot the PIN code to my Galaxy A54 (running the latest One UI / Android firmware), and the phone is currently on a 2-hour lockout timer.
Since I can't unlock it, I'm trying to get into Recovery Mode to perform a factory reset, but the standard button combination isn't working.
Here is what I'm doing:
Instead of booting into Recovery, the phone just triggers a normal restart, shows the boot logo, and boots right back into the locked screen with the timer. I also tried SmartThings Find / Smart Switch, but the website cannot locate or detect the phone for some reason.
UPD: the site is actually communicating with the phone because I can successfully trigger the "Play Sound" feature, but the "Erase Data" option on the website is failing after i enter my samsung account password
The recent samsung browser available for A54 has become very fast and smoother compared to the earlier version.
Is everybody feeling the same?
Is it true that when I get one ui 8.5 I will lost access to download mode and recovery menu.
If yes how do I then install custom roms
Since my Galaxy A54 currently broke, my mom will give me her Galaxy S24+ as my new phone and she'll get a new phone for herself.
I always wanted to own an S24+ and I know it has wireless charging.
So, I'm finally gonna own a flagship phone like the Galaxy S24+ for the first time.
What do you all think?
Hey everyone 👋 I’m currently looking for a midrange Samsung phone and I’m stuck between the Galaxy A54 and A55.
Here in my area, the prices are roughly: A54 (used): around 3.2–3.5 million IDR A55 (used): around 4.5–4.9 million IDR So the gap is about 1–1.5 million IDR
My usage: daily social media YouTube/Netflix college stuff casual photography some gaming (MLBB, PUBG, maybe Genshin occasionally) planning to use the phone for around 3–5 years
From what I’ve seen: A54 still seems really good for the price but I’ve also heard complaints about heating and micro stutters meanwhile A55 seems smoother, cooler, and more future-proof
For people who have used both: Is the A55 actually worth the extra money? Does the A54 still hold up well in 2026? How bad (or noticeable) are the stutters/heating issues on the A54 in daily use?
Would love to hear long-term experiences from actual users 🙏
I saw some news about Google event and couldn't find anything meaningful. What features could our A54 get, like seriously. It seems like all about AI and the key thing is android is not a standalone software anymore it will turn something bigger with Gemini.
OneUI also follow this AI trend with new featuers only limited to the latest S series phones, so I don't know what's the point of the software updates anymore.
Let's talk about that stuff in general. The only thing I find meaningful on 8.5 is the quick panel customizations and be able to change battery indicator to percentage.

It is only a security update though.
I thought we are going to get the One UI 8.5 this month?! 😐
i want to try it out but i dont have it
Hello who knows when galaxy a 54 users in West africa will get ui 8.5?
Update the device to max avaliable
Replace battery
Back up your data
Reset
Costs some money but worth the change
I was charging 3 times a day and max screen on time was 4 hrs
Now i can just charge it once a day and no worries till night. Its a relief actually for me
Thanks
when i bought this phone like a week after its launch and i thought it was like genuinely the best phone and it was for a time, but after all the recent samsung updates in 2026, it has gotten really shitty, like at low battery like at 10 or 5 percent it automatically shuts down, and when i plug it in it shows that moisture icon and doesnt start, weirdly the battery is full drained idk what do, i am thinking of switching to a different brand atp
