Things that have been removed and/or worsened in the A/M/F series and FE/Lite series on tablets in the latest updates

*This is the last time I'm saying this. I'm posting here because the One UI subreddit won't let me or they delete my post (the moderators there are ridiculous, they treat everything like it's a real-life issue😡).

As most non-S series users know, Samsung is employing a dirty strategy with our devices through updates, removing more and more features that have been present in all previous versions and have always worked well. And no, don't tell me we get what we pay for. Because that's not the case. I don't mind missing some features that the S series has, since some of them haven't always been there. But what does bother me is that we have several years of software updates, which are supposed to be for the better, but instead, for non-S series devices, it's the opposite. One UI 7.0 was basically the last version of One UI that treated non-S series devices well, with only minor and insignificant differences. Here's the list of things they've started removing since One UI 8.0, that Samsung "coincidentally" chose the ones that are used on a daily basis.:

One UI 8.0:

•The app opening speed, both in gesture mode and buttons, became too fast.

One UI 8.5:

•They removed the animations from the Quick Panel toggle icons when activating/deactivating them.

•The static blur of the Quick Panel was nerfed, making it excessively blurry, so the outline of what's behind it is barely visible and it looks like a gradient.

*And as a positive point of One UI 8.5, they at least included the expansion animation when you press and hold toggles like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Rotation, an animation that was previously only available on S-series devices in One UI 7/8.0.

What do you think of this strategy from Samsung? Do you agree with them removing features that have always been there, or do you think it's wrong of them when we pay for their devices with so many years of promised updates? Let's see what awaits us in One UI 9.0...🫡

Recover esim

I need to get my device flashed with software from service centre and in the process it is likely that I will lose the esim. Is there a way to recover it?

HOW THE A55 gets 1 milion benchmark

What's going on here? How did it reach 780,000 benchmark scores in old tests and now it's at 1 million?

The June patch continues to remove things in A series

First of all. As expected, this patch is just like any other. It doesn't fix a single bug, and the performance is exactly the same. The Quick Panel is still just as laggy. However, Samsung is so awful that it can't even manage to improve any of this in patches, but it does remove things. Well, it turns out they've now removed the Now Bar pill animation from the status bar. That is, the animation that appears when you exit the app and the one that pushes the notification icons next to it. Watch the video. I don't know what to expect from Samsung anymore. They're removing absolutely everything that's always been there in the A/M/F series. Since they're removing every existing animation, they might as well remove them all, or I'll just set all the animations to 0x so I don't see any.

EDIT: It seems to be a bug. The animation appeared for me. Sometimes it appears and sometimes it doesn't.

Problem with Instagram

Has anyone been able to fix this bug? I've been having it since I updated to version 8.5, and even the June update didn't fix it. I have the latest version of Instagram.

Are you still satisfied with your phone?

I'm an a56 user (first time A series) but I want to know the opinion and experience of those who use the a55, now on its 3rd year, if im not mistaken. Will you still keep it for years or will you upgrade?

App not syncing

Has anyone else come up with not being able to sync your data to Samsung Cloud? After checking in Settings I try to manually sync but I'm stuck at a black loading screen... I'm new here so idk if this has already been addressed.

Screenguard for Samsung A55

Ordered twice from amazon and flipkart and always faced the glue issue. Even with checking reviews if it's not this then that corner got less adhesive.

Please recommend some from other websites. I just want to avoid amazon and flipkart. Price should be less than ₹300

Phone slowed down recently

During last month or so I noticed that my Galaxy A55 has slowed down sagnificantly. Apps are opened slower, internet search is slower, random lagging. Has it something to do with redent software updates?

One UI 8.5 Review after 4 weeks

Context: I've been using the phone since May 2025, and I started with One UI 6.1 out of the box. I am a light user with usage largely limited to social media, browsing, youtube, shopping apps.

I always keep all of my apps updated and also, I install security and OS updates as soon as I get them.

Tweaks I did: Unnecessary wifi, bluetooth scanning, Google background services which I don't use, put apps to deep sleep and disabled app which I don't use. That's it, no other tinkering.

Here is what I think about One UI 8.5
---

Performance: I think the phone is performing at its best so far! Apps open, close quickly, content loads fast without much hiccups.

General UI & Animations: UI looks polished and overall consistent to me. They did take down quick panel blur, and there is a slight lag or perhaps frame drop when you pull down quick panel - it's minor but noticeable. Hopefully they fix it soon.
Other than that, the overall animations are fast and smooth, I don't notice any frame drops and lags in general UI, I noticed better smoothness in recents panel than before. Overall UI is consistently fast with smooth transitions.
One UI 7 was smooth; One UI 8 was fast - and now 8.5 has got a nice combination of both!

Battery: Finally, the battery backup is back where it needs to be. Since I updated to One UI 8 - the overall backup was dropped by 1:30 hrs SOT, I was hardly getting 7 to 7:30 hrs SOT. With One UI 8.5 it's back to normal. Phone stays cool too, hardly gets warm.

Bugs: Did not face anything major, only once an app closed itself when I turned off the screen. Probably the app crashed itself since it did not occur again.
Issue with swipe gestures - I feel the sensitivity is higher now, when you swipe back sometimes the opened app would register tap and go to the content instead of going back or close app.
I switched back to navigation buttons so it's good for me.

Issues I had with One UI 8 - battery backup, inferior performance, phone used to get warm even on basic usage. Performance was worse when navigation buttons were in use than gestures. Wifi was consuming more battery than mobile data!

Did One UI 8.5 fixed these? YES!

I had doubt's recently that this phone might not age well, but Samsung finally did well to get it together.

What's wrong with Samsung?

What the hell is Samsung doing that the phone has become so laggy? This is just insane. Am I the only one experiencing this delay in the app settings? Swipes are lagging too, just like the keyboard when you collapse it with the down arrow...
