Custom watch faces on the Fit3 are finally here.

Custom watch faces on the Fit3 are finally here.

I built FitFace Studio — an Android app that lets you edit watch-faces. Pick a face, swap the background, drag the widgets wherever you want, resize the digits, then send it straight to the watch over Bluetooth.

Nothing gets repackaged or re-signed. It edits the face itself and hands the watch those exact bytes.

Fair warning: it's mostly vibe coded. Works on mine though 🙂

Here it is running on my watch:

Excited for others to try. Feedback welcome.

I need help with my Galaxy Fit 3

Hello! I speak Spanish so I'll try to explain myself as best I can. Since Saturday (the day I really noticed) my watch has had these "dark spots" that aren't very visible during the day, but are visible at night. For a moment I thought I had gotten it dirty, but the stains never came out of my watch. Does anyone know what I can do? Or what happened? Will more appear? :( I have the watch because it was a gift from someone close to me; I don't want it to get ruined.

As extra info, during the day as I mentioned they are not seen and are not a nuisance, only at night they are.

Attached are 2 photos; photo 1 is from the daytime and photo 2 is from the nighttime. :(

[DEV] Band Trigger: Turn your Galaxy Fit into a Smart Home Controller (Free & Open Source)

Hey everyone! 👋

Smartbands were designed mainly to track steps and skip songs. I decided they could do a lot more.

I developed **Band Trigger**, an open-source Android app that intercepts media control events from your wristband and turns them into custom HTTP Webhooks and device commands.Essentially, it turns that idle Play/Pause or Skip screen into a physical remote control for your smart devices or desktop.

✨ What can it do?

  • 💡 Control Smart Lights & Plugs: Turn your lights or smart devices ON/OFF with a tap on your wrist.
  • Live Status on Your Screen: Shows [ ON ] or [ OFF ] on your band so you always know the current state.
  • Always Ready: Automatically takes over the watch screen the moment you pause Youtube , Spotify , etc

⌚ Will it work on your watch?

  • Tested on: Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 (100% verified).
  • Other Devices: It will most likely work on almost any smartband or smartwatch that can control music on Android!
  • Feedback: Suggestions are super welcome! Just keep in mind that system limitations will dictate what is technically possible to add.

* Includes step-by-step guides for setting up Smart Home webhooks in the `docs/` folder.

Should I switch my fitness watch ?

I recently got into exercise for weight loss. I am starting with walking and eventually working up to jogging and maybe running.

I got the Mi Band 9 to keep track of my steps, distance walked, calories burned etc. I have a Samsung phone, and Samsung Health is my primary fitness tracker and Google Fit as a secondary.

I bought the Mi Band 9 because it was the cheapest available 80 bucks ( 21 USD ) at the time. The Samsung Glaxay Fit 3 is on sale now for 114 bucks (31 USD) .

But I am not very happy with the Mi Band 9 becuase I have to use the Mi Fitness app to get my watch data, then use Strava app for it to be able to sync to Google Fit and then if I am lucky it will sync with Samsung health. All the while when I walk my phone is passively counting my steps creating a disconnect between the apps.

My question to people who have used the watches for a while and who really know their fitness watches. What do you suggest: switch to Fit 3 or keep my Mi Band ?.

Update about using my Fit to control my bulb

I'm improving my app to make it more user-friendly. Since my last post, here is what I’ve added:

Custom Automations: A button to add multiple automations to the app and give them custom names.

Smartwatch Integration: Remapped the media control buttons (previous/next track) on my smartwatch to toggle between my saved automations instead.

I originally built this app with a simple goal in mind: turning my bedroom light on and off. But I think there's potential to take it a step further—like using it to turn on my PC, for example.

I created an app to use my Galaxy Fit 3 to turn a Wi-Fi bulb on and off.

I have a Galaxy Fit 3 and, as you know, the only way (as far as I know) to intercept what the watch sends to the phone is through media controls (YouTube, YouTube Music, etc.). With that in mind, I created an app that intercepts the play/pause command to turn the light bulb on and off.

Sequematic handles the intermediary part, and creating automations there is completely free.

Sleep tracking issue?

When I check the sleep chart after I wake up I 99% of the time see that I was waking up a lot of times while I was sleeping which is weird because I have no memory of it but it happens consistently. Am I actually waking up multiple times per night or is it just when I toss and turn my band thinks I woke up? Does that is happen to anyone else or just me?

Samsung Health App: WELCOME TO YOUR NEW HOME SCREEN.

This welcome message refuses to go away. 90% of the time that I open the Samsung Health app, I get this annoying welcome message. Particularly annoying because of how much screen real estate it takes up and I'm just sick of interacting with it to remove it.

Am I missing something here ? Is there a way to permanently stop this welcome message from spamming me nearly every time I open the app ?

Edit: seems I found the solution, thanks to someone who responded to this thread with what worked for them.

It isn't enough to interact / read the welcome message .... You also have to mark it as helpful. It isn't obvious how you do this, but you need to long press the welcome message and a dialog appears asking you to select thumbs up helpful or thumbs down unhelpful.

Mark it as helpful.

The welcome message came back the next time I opened the app, but the third time I opened the app the message did not appear and has not appeared since. Fingers crossed, but it now seems to be gone for good.

Galaxy Fit 3 text messages

Do text message notification just not work? I've tried and tried. I've found no setting specifically for text just notifications (all are turned on). I found a post about google messenger not working and to use the Samsung messenger app, but thats being disconnected and isn't usable. Help? Otherwise I'm just returning the device.
