Has anyone else noticed that all of the episodes of this season of Game Changer have followed a similar theme?
After watching Kangaroo Court I realized that at least 3 of the 4 episodes of Game Changer season 8 have been following a "Judicial System" theme. I was curious if anyone else noticed this or if I'm reading too deeply into this.
Don't Wake Standards & Practices had actual lawyers assessing how liable the contestants actions were
Rulette 2 is about, well, following rules or facing punishment. Rules are kinda like laws. You could say that rules are threats made by the dominant socioeconomic-ethnic host in a given game show.
Night Shift does not fit my pattern necessarily other than being representative of the working class who are held to the rule of law.
Kangaroo Court features a jury of the contestants peers.
I believe at some point Sam said we're getting 2 Game Samers this season, and with Rulette having already aired, this might help hint at what kind of episode will get a sequel. Any guesses?
Am I going crazy? Has anyone else thought about this? Will next episode completely squash my theory? Will the finale also be legal themed?
I NEED TO KNOW WHAT EPISODE THIS IS FROM
There's a bit with either Jacob Wysocki or Zac Oyama, whoever it is is putting the tips of their fingers together and making clicks as they say those are the brain cells connecting. I've tried every search, I know I saw it on drop out I think it's game changer. I always reference this alongside the fried chicken candy so that's why my brain says jacob. Anyway if yall could find it so I can show people im not crazy that would be amazing. (I legitness downloaded reddit to find the answer.)
Um, actually, Aabria, those are ionic columns, not corinthian!
In the behind the scenes of Kangaroo Court, Aabria mentions the columns being corinthian. Due to the scrolls on either side they fall in the ionic category. Corinthian columns have leaf-like designs. There is also doric, which is much more utilitarian.
I made the Game Changer set playable in VRChat! :D
You can play it here!
I made a post about this recreation about a year ago and was asked to port it to VRChat. I finally got around to doing it a couple of weeks ago and now it's in a pretty good state! This is my first world so there may be some weird quirks, would love to hear if you experience any issues while playing.
(Note that the game is mostly a showcase with some basic functionality, but I'm hoping to add more in the future)
not knowing the reference?
i havent been involved in gamechanger long enough to know the answer, but what if, god forbid, one of the players dont know a reference or person sam gives them to act out? or in make some noise? do they clear the things they dont know beforehand, or to be able to participate, they have to know everything? ive always been curious about this. i never watched any game of thrones, but i liked when the contestants acted it out nonetheless, and i feel the same with various other media in the prompts they get. i cant be the only one to think about this!!
I think Kangaroo Court needed one final round to wrap it up.
I think it would have been very ‘Game Changer’ if the final round’s question to the jury was,
“Who do you think has the most points?”
Imagine the panic if whoever they decided had the most points, won the game. Imagine Vic trying to convince them that despite everything the Jury had seen, they’d won the game.
It would have been similar to Second Place, where the concept was pushed to its limit when the person in second place won.
The only way to learn is by playing
until sam explains the rules of the game right at the beginning
Possible 'Rulette 2' Rule Exploit?
A brilliantly hilarious twist on Rulette 2 was that the players were able to drag Paul Referrino into the game and make him follow the Golden Rule too, despite him not being a contestant, in addition to being able to put their rules on him too when he did not follow the Golden Rule.
Which raises the question!
If non-contestants are indeed beholden to the rules as the contestants are, what would have happened if one of the players tried to call out the entire crew for not saying a famous last name while that was in effect as the Golden Rule when they were calling out spins(i.e. "Spin-That-Wheel!", "Rule!", "Modifier!", etc)?
Kangaroo Court - “slime & feather”
First time commenter in here, long time dropout fan!!
Kinda struggling with this challenge & it may not be as problematic as initially perceived, but need additional pov….
Is it not absurdly insensitive and ignorant to gamify being ‘tarred and feathered’? To then also put a black woman in a position where she has to portray a smile while being “slimed” and feathered
I could be making something of nothing, but I don’t really think I am. Also I can provide more context if needed… I don’t think it was intentional racism, buuuut come on Sam this is pretty brutal.
Thoughts????
Edit: clarification
Game Changer 8.04 Episode Discussion: "Kangaroo Court"
watch.dropout.tvLisa Gilroy as Samantha
Anybody who has watched her on Game Changer and VIP will know this is right. She’s such an amazing character actor and would be PERFECT as Samantha!!!
The new guard’s banter towards Brennan makes me slightly uncomfortable
Okay I get it the definitely not new guard 😂💞
Hello just watched the new game changer and let me preface this by saying I love Vic and they are amazing so this is not me criticising anyone it’s just that I dislike the (new) dynamics against Brennan.
I understand that annoying Brennan it’s a thing and have loved it in the past but seeing everyone gang up against him took me back to high school because he is too nice to dish anything back and it just feels unbalanced even if it’s them ‘punching up’ cause he’s an OG.
Am I crazy and just too sensitive??? I know they’re all mates but find increasingly hard to watch as a joke when everyone is doing it.
Butterfly Pins?
Watching “Kangaroo Court” and I realized all three contestants have butterfly pins on them. I don’t want to make assumptions, but my understanding is purple butterfly typically refers to pregnancy loss with twins/multi-birth, or domestic violence.
Was this just something because of an awareness month, or did something happen with someone tied to Dropout? I know this is a bit parasocial to ask, but I was surprised when they all came out.
Something that always surprises me
is that Ashnikko is on gamechanger every episode and does her whole tour and it's just so amazing
Same Reich! He’s been here the whole time
Just noticed this caption at the end of Cool as a Cucumber and thought it was indeed very cool
