g7ctl Updated - Big Update for the Linux G7 Pro app

2 Weeks ago I posted here about developing a config app for the Gamesir G7 Pro and its variants. Today I am happy to report we have released version 0.2.0 with everything from Nexus exposed in our library set and UI

All features now implemented:

Stick config with custom curves
Motion config tests working on KDE for mouse and stick emulation
Battery level reporting
Read/Write access via wired and wireless dongle
Triggers config with custom curves
Dock config options
Vibration tab will all controls exposed
Complete button binds config with shift support
Full import/export support for saving configs
Full support for onboard profiles
Polling rate

Some per tab edge case features still undergoing testing but this update puts the app at about a 98% analog with Nexus on Windows all from the comfort of your Linux install.

I've had a couple suggestions that I should expand support to other Gamesir controls and the simple answer is Id love to!... But I only have a Gamesir G7 Pro to test on. However currently, the protocol should be able to support any controller in the Nexus family. That is: if you use Nexus to configure your controller under Windows then support is technically already here. Right now the app/libs hardware detection is only filtering for the G7 Pro but with a little community help we could "more than likely" extend support to the rest of the controllers in the family which gamesir lists as the following controllers:

G7 Pro, G7 SE, G7 Pro Zenless Zone Zero Edition , G7 Pro Dragon's Dogma 2 Edition , G7 Pro WUCHANG Edition , T7 Pro Floral , T7 Pro Sugar Whirl , Tarantula Pro for XBOX, T7 , Kaleid , Kaleid Flux.

Again support for these controller should technically be possible although the app is currently only filtering for the G7 Pro family. If you have one of the controllers listed above and would like to help... please reach out! With some basic info about your controller we may could get other controllers working in the next couple versions.

G7 Pro 8K AimLabs came with crooked joystick and the distributor blocked me instead

I bought a G7 Pro 8K Aimlabs through the official Indonesian distributor store of GameSir products via Shopee. Upon receiving the product and unboxing it, I noticed that the right joystick was tilted, it was taller on one side and leaning to the other. I contacted the seller (GameSir Authorized Distributor) to ask whether they can do an exchange. They said that I should just send the controller back, and they’ll do a full refund.

Return was done using Shopee, but upon receiving my returned product, they dispute the claim and that made me receive back my crooked controller. I have also now seen that they have blocked me from their store, not allowing any sort of contact to them.

Very disappointed in how GameSir react and responded to a customer issue. Although they are great controllers, I just dont feel anymore in purchasing GameSir products, if the response to an issue is by blocking the consumer.

My last hope is the 1st Party Gamesir support, really hope you can make right of this.

Anyone have issues with controller overclock feeling sluggish after a bit?

I have a new somewhat high end PC (9800x3d and 5070ti) I have done every little fix imaginable to try and correct this. Every windows tweak, bios tweak. I use a gamesir G7 pro 8k and every day for the first few games everything feels responsive and wonderful at 8khz. Then all of a sudden I feel like my game feels heavy, I then unplug my controller and plug it back in and it goes back to normal. Was wondering if yall have experienced anything similar and if there is some odd ball fix I haven’t tried yet.

G7 Pro keeps disconnecting and reconnecting (with 2.4GHz dongle) on PC

It didn’t do this before, but now it’s bad. While playing GTA San Andreas, it’ll disconnected then reconnect without me doing anything. I have the polling rate set to 500 using the Nexus app and everything is updated.

I thought it was probably my USB slot on the motherboard, so I tried each one and it still did the same thing. My keyboard and mouse (being wireless), doesn’t give me any problems.

Is there something I’m missing that’ll help solve this?

Wanting to ask a few questions about the G7 Pro

So I am so sick of stick drift with series X controllers. I'm thinking about buying a G7 Pro. I want it to be Wireless as I sit about seven or eight feet from my Xbox. But I've heard that if you're that far away, the connectivity isn't so good. Does anyone play wirelessly that far away from their xbox? Also, are the only Wireless ones the Wuchang and ZZZ? I've read that you can use the Wuchang update on your regular wireless controller to get it to be wireless for Xbox. Do you guys think gamesir going to put a stop to this?

I bought the Xbox Gamesir G7 Pro, and my Kontrol Freeks don’t fit

So I just bought my G7 Pro Xbox controller, I’ve been rocking Xbox my whole life.. I play claw and play competitive call of duty… I’ve been using a default Xbox controller and playing claw, with a kontrol freek, but when I bought my Xbox G7 pro I’d assume the Xbox kontrol freek would fit.. but it doesn’t.. but I’ve been told that the PS5 Kontrol freeks fit the Xbox G7 Pro analog stick..

Is this true? Do I get a ps5 kontrol freek? Will it fit on the analog stick ? Please help

Is it worthy accept 20% refund?

Is a 20% refund an offer, for my broken GameSir Cyclone 2?

My GameSir Cyclone 2s mode switch broke while I was switching modes. The switch got stuck. When I pressed the trigger the little mode switch/lever broke.

I contacted the seller about it. They are only offering me a 20% refund of the purchase price.

I did not intentionally apply force or misuse the controller. It happened during use while changing modes.

Do you guys think I should accept the 20% refund or should I ask for a refund or replacement??

Gamesir Boy App help

I bought the Gamesir Pocket Taco and i love the way it handles on a lot of online emulators. However, to get rid of the lag, I downloaded the Gamesir Boy app to try and upload a few ROMs. Now I was successful in uploading a game but i have no idea how to use the software or the menu that pops up to access the game. Can anyone help?

Tarantula 8k but with xbox style layout?

Are there plans for an xbox layout but the same as Tarantula 8k being wired, no rumble motors and lightweight with extra buttons. I love how light the controller is and would like an asymmetrical version with all the bells and whistles.

In desperate need of tech support currently.

A couple of weeks ago I bought a Gamesir Cyclone 2 controller for my PC, which is great, and works well with other titles such as RDR2, and The Crew games. However, I just can't seem to get it working with Sea of Thieves. When I enter the game I can press anything on the controller, the game will not switch over. I feel like I've tried everything: Steam Input on/off, firmware update, driver update, the controller is on XInput mode, I even tried turning it off then back on again. I was wondering if anyone else had this issue, and if you did, how did you fix it? (If you could) If you are curious, I would really like to fish without being hunched over my keyboard & mouse for hours on end.

Wu Chang G7 pro quality question

I’ve had my Gamesir G7 pro wu change fallen feathers edition since February. I honestly barely use it as it’s really just my back up/single player games controller. I’ve maybe used it maybe 10 times or so.

The A button makes a noticeably loud screech when I press it, maybe even seems as if the button is going bad/becoming harder to click properly. Also one of the sticks also makes a bit of a screech noise from normal use. Just curious if anyone else has had these issues or if maybe it’s worth activating the warranty for? If I had been using this often it wouldn’t bother me but considering I’ve barely used it, it’s kind of disappointing.

Strange D-pad issue on GameSir G8 Galileo – Down button only works with hard presses

I have a GameSir G8 Galileo, and for about a year I have had an issue with only the Down (↓) direction of the D-pad.

When I press Down normally, it sometimes doesn't register, while other times it works perfectly.

When the issue occurs, pressing Down firmly makes it register.

I have tried:

Cleaning the controller with an electronic contact cleaner.

Several firmware versions, including older versions.

Recalibrating the controller multiple times according to GameSir's instructions.

Unfortunately, the problem still remains.

The strange thing is that the issue sometimes improves after using the D-pad for a long period.

For example, I played Streets of Rage 4 for about an hour using the D-pad, and afterward the Down button worked normally for a while, but the problem eventually came back.

I've also noticed that repeatedly moving/pressing the D-pad can sometimes make the button work temporarily.

Has anyone experienced the same issue? Did you find a permanent fix? 🫩❤️‍🔥

Is it worth it to buy from Aliexpress?

Hi! Mexico Gamesir fan here.

I've been looking to get more rollers into my collection and noticed the OG Tarantula Pro is no longer available on the website. I was thinking on getting one from a 3rd party like Aliexpress since Amazon has them but ultra expensive. I've seen reviews that indicate a good product being delivered overall but Idk, always been wary of sites like these for some reason.

Anyone willing to share their experience would make my day for sure and how long did it take for it to arrive.
