Shangra-lizard

My bioactive palace for my gargoyle gecko. I started this set up using an ikea cabinet with the goal of creating a kingdom for my little guy to rule over. He's proven a terror of a king, hunting down and eating his subjects (isopods) live. I try to appease him with offerings of cherry repashy diet, dusted cricket sacrifices, and even the coveted fresh mango and banana treats... but their population continues to decline under his rule. All who look into the face of evil shall perish

Fyi lights were on at night only to get a few pics without glare.

2 gargoyl geckos in 1 terrarium?

Hey I have a terrarium 90x50x90cm (36x19x36 inches) and I was wondering if it would be big enough for 2 geckos? Maybe someone has experience keeping them together, I don't want them to be stressed out maybe they need more space than that?

How big should be my terrarium?

I wanna buy my first terrarium for an auriculatus .
My idea was to buy a 45x45x90 cm (EU) that is 18x18x36 in (US).
Is that right or should be smaller/bigger?

Space for future emeralds

Just finished setting up this 36x18x36 bioactive planned for a female pair of skinks. While I give it time to grow in, what are good places to look for captive bred skinks ideally sexed. Seems pretty limited out there and I worry about getting potentially two males, or a breeding pair and hear everywhere that keeping them in a group is better than a single one.

Is this bone? What do i do?

Posted a few days ago on here asking about what people thought she had on her gums being potentially mouth rot. The good news is she shedded, and it wasnt. Just some dirt she had stuck in her gums.

But the wounds that she had from scraping against her enclosure when trying to dig to lay eggs got worse after she shed. The shed stuck to her wounds and wouldnt come off, so ive been doing a gecko sauna for the past few days. Ive also been using vetericyn plus to clean the area and make sure no bacteria gets in.

Now the shed on her bumps came off, but this looks very off. Is this bone?

Can bedroom light or computer on at night disturb my gecko?

I’m thinking about having a gecko! I’m studying hard to be able to give him the best quality of life and a cozy home, but I can only have one if I leave it in my room.

I have the habit of playing a lot at night and rarely make some calls to play with my friends, I’m afraid of these habits will disturb my gecko in his sleep cycle.

I know that leaving the bedroom light on at night is not a good idea, but is it the computer or TV light?? Would it get in his way?

New enclosure, thoughts please!

Hey all, my boyfriend and I just built this 18x18x36 enclosure for our garg. It’s our first time building one of these, just wondering if we should add anything or tips to improve?
Yes we will be adding hides, and also putting vinyl on the sides (it’s ugly lol) for more cover. The lighting situation is also temporary, it’s just to keep the plants alive, we haven’t figured out what light we want yet.
Thanks!!

Edit: we will also be waiting a while to put her in to give time for the plants to grow in!

Gecko not coming down?

Hello, I got my gargoyle gecko about a week ago and a half ago, she’s about 3 years old, but she currently will not come down from the top of the tank.

When I turn the lights off at the end of the day, I can catch her maybe coming down to the top brand / branch below that but if I walk back over she freaks out and goes back to the top of the tank…

Even if I don’t go over I don’t really hear her moving around, and I know it takes about 2 weeks for them to get settled but it’s approaching the two week mark and she doesn’t seem much more comfortable.

I’ve been feeding her, and changing water, spraying tank, UVB and LED are on, but the spot she positions herself in is sort out of the light during the day (allll the way at the top of the tank, photo attached)

I’m worried I’m doing something wrong, or is just that maybe she’s more skiitsh and needs more time to settle in.. I’m not sure if she’s eating or drinking, because I haven’t been able to catch her by the food bowl / water

Mouth rot? Or just digging?

Recently, my 9 year old garg has a lot of black material around her mouth and a dark spot on her gums. I'm concerned about the possibility of mouth rot. However, she's been digging a lot recently due to shedding and laying. She hasn't eaten in a couple weeks - again, likely due to the shedding, but also because I've had to switch her CGD flavour (the horror!) due to supply chain issues with her favourite.

I can't investigate with a Q-tip - she absolutely hates handling and gets very flighty and bitey. She is alert, super active, definitely not lethargic. I can't see any pus or inflammation around her mouth, but it's hard to tell. I will struggle to afford the vet right now but will take her if people think it's genuinely necessary.

Thanks!

Asking advice for my first Gecko

Hi! I’ve always been fascinated by reptiles, particularly geckos, so I’ve decided that I would like to build a terrarium and buy one.
I’ve never had experience with terrarium neither with geckos, so I’m here to ask some advice.
With some research I ended up loving the gargoyle geckos and his pattern and colours. I also read that they are omnivore so I could feed them fruit and insects, but I also read there are some food mix that already contains insects and would be great cause would be hard for me to keep insects at home but is something I can fix. I have a budget of 400€ (450$) (I would love to get a red gecko) and I would love to make a tropical terrarium. Not sure if that’s enough but eventually I could wait and save a bit more money.
I don’t have much time to look after it cause I work from 7 am to 7 pm.
Sorry if my English is not good but I tried my best lol.
Every advice is appreciated. Please tell me if there is something I need to know before buying all the stuff!

Is 80 degrees unsafe for a gargoyle gecko

Ac in my house is out I have a fan on in the room but it is still 80 degrees in the terrarium should I move the enclosure to the basement which is colder or is it okay if it is only for a day while I wait for someone to come fix the AC?

Morph/Pattern Help

We got our sweet Caraxes from an expo and have never known his pattern/morph.

I’m labeling my gecko enclosures at the moment and would like to add a morph/pattern label. Any ideas what our boy is? (:

Pictures are of today, and the last photo was of him at the expo.

Thank you!

Feeding Tongs

So normally I feed my guy with plastic feeding tongs because I worry about him not being able to eat. So far it’s worked for us, but I noticed now he is starting to bite the tongs instead of the crickets and then he won’t let go. I worry for his little chompers dearly. Is there any sort of tong that I could use to where I don’t have to worry as much if he gets ahold of them? Like maybe a softer material? Bonus picture of Mamzani

Gargoyle gecko from Facebook marketplace

His tank is too small. I have a 24x18x36 I’m currently getting ready for him. He’s very polite. They used Gatorade bottle caps on the bottom of the enclosure for his food and water. I threw those out and replaced with a feeder that sticks to the glass. These pictures were taken after a good misting and he perked up instantly. Up till this point I’ve only ever had snakes so any tips/advice is appreciated!

Enclosure help

I haven't gotten a gecko yet, but here's my enclosure setup so far, since taking this picture I've added a moss hide at the top and a food ledge. I'm working on getting the humidity to stay up, and the measurements are 18x18x24? I think
