Ho preso il mio primo gecko ! Ora ho una domanda ( forse stupida ) ma che tipo di acqua devo usare per dargli da mangiare/bere/speuzzare ?? L’acqua che raccogli dal condizionatore può andare bene ?

Just revamped my Gargoyle vivarium. Thoughts?

I have had my Gargoyle for almost 3 years now. I though it was about time for a complete revamp since the soil and drainage layer were all messed up, so i had to redo those anyways, so I though why not the whole thing. My garg loves to trample over delecate plants so I had to choose the right ones for the job. I also created some more climbing and hiding spots while i was at it. What are your thoughts?

Gave my girl the keys to her new crib last night

I know I know, I should've let it settle for a few weeks. But she's been cramped up in her temp tank for a month and I couldn't bear it anymore. She was ready, too, because she wasted no time hopping right in. I am positively delighted by all of this

pregnant gargoyle?

I bought the pair and she was supposed to be confirmed pregnant and 4 weeks in and did look chunky when i got her. i’ve been keeping up with their maintenance and check about every other day for eggs it’s been roughly 6-7 weeks (no pun intended) for her whole cycle. she looks slim now but i can’t find eggs not sure if i messed up somehow.

first picture is now

Need help with heat gradient.

I just got my gargoyle gecko on Sunday and i got his tank all set up I’m just worried about the temperature in his tank. It’s at a steady 78 and at night it barely dips down to 75-73. Is it too hot for him?

How long until I should worry about a new baby not eating?

Hello all!

I brought home my first baby gargoyle yesterday, it’s two months old and still very small.

I know all reptiles can be fussy with appetite until they get settled in their new homes, but because it’s so tiny I’d love to know a few things:

- what time span should I officially start to be worried if it won’t take food

- any tips/tricks to tell if it possibly ate anything overnight

I’m not super worried yet because again, it’s only been a day. I’ll switch out the flavour of food daily to see if it’s just a preference thing (currently feeding Arcadia gecko paste mix)

Any advice welcome, picture taken is for size reference of the little bean as I was moving him to his tank. Thanks!

Has this lovely lady previously dropped her tail?

Her name is Ruby, we just got her today, the shop we got her from is pretty sure she had dropped the end of her tail at some point before(her tail is shorter and more round at the tip), but they did not think she fully dropped her tail.

Also I find it interesting that upon bringing her home and placing her in the tank she decided to take a nap out in the open like this, I was expecting her to enter one of the hides.

I made shrublands inspired bioactive enclosure for my two gargoyle geckos

Today, after several weeks, I finally finished this bioactive double enclosure for my two lovely girls. I wanted to make an enclosure as close as possible to the natural habitat of gargoyles - the shrubland and maquis of New Caledonia. I know it's not perfect but I am quite happy how it turned out.

It is a 45 × 90 × 90 cm enclosure split in the middle by polycarbonate panel. Custom background made out of styrofoam, grout, paints and a sealer, siliconed to the back.

You can briefly see the process in the pictures and a reference photo of the actual Caledonian habitat. Also photos of my girls, named Majka and Ferka (Moomins reference).

What do you guys think?

Taming

How long did it take you to tame your gargoyles? Just recently started the process with my new baby, Got them almost a month ago, taking it slow and steady, just was wondering how long it took for other people, and if anyone has any tips?

I recently got my Gargoyle Gecko a new enclosure. Any tips or suggestions?

I got an 18x24x36 enclosure and I added live plants (safe for my Gargoyle) isopods, and springtails for mold or when he poops. I love it. My dad loves it. Everyone loves it. But yeah, that's it.

Android version of my reptile tracker is out, looking for gargoyle keepers to break it

Posted here roughly 10 months ago about "Exotic Reptile Care app" the iPhone version and got asked about Android a few times. It's finally up.
Been pushing fixes daily since launch, so if you try it and something's off, good timing.
For gargs the bits that matter are weight logs in grams with charts over time, shed tracking, and feeding logs that handle a CGD-and-insects diet rather than assuming everything eats rodents. That last one is where I'd guess it's weakest, so tell me if it is.

Thoughts on setup?

Hi! This is the first tank l've ever built/set up and wanted some opinions on it!

18x24x36 cage, tank has been set up for about a month and a half. Gonna be for a gargoyle gecko

First photo is with all of the decor. I really love the blue swing but I'm worried about how much light it blocks. I'm worried the plants underneath it will start to die. The whole time this tank has been set up there's been no decor at all, so nothing blocking the light. I just put the bridges and hanging decor in for these photos.

Second photo is without the swing but then it just feels so bare to me. I do have a coconut swing in his current enclosure that I could move over to this spot? It may not block as much light

Third photo is with no decor to show how much light the plants have been getting. Compare it to the other photos to see how much light will be blocked with the decor

Speaking of plants I cannot get the plants in the built in planters to stay alive. Thinking of replacing these with fake ones but not sure.

The tank is bioactive. I’ve got dwarf white isopods and white springtails in there. They seem like they’re doing pretty good.

There's a built in rock cave hide that I currently have filled with moss. Not sure if I'm gonna leave it with moss or maybe do some soil instead

There's some magnetic ledges on the side and a frog cup thing he can kinda lay in. Then I have some rock wall climbing pieces on the open sections of class to help him climb.

I would super appreciate any thoughts on this set up :) thank you for reading!!

Blep, and need name ideas

NOTE: going for something short, 1-2 syllables with nickname potential, her personality is very gentle, goofy, and hunger driven

My sweet female poking her tongue out while eating Pangea. I’ve been struggling to name this girl. I’ve kept her name from the store the last few months (thorn) but do not feel intensely attached to it. Her nickname is Toes because she has an extra toe. Any ideas???
