GATE Mechanical
Please tell me everything about it's syllabus, which coaching is the best, and other points to note. Really new to it. Youtube has way too much info. I urge the toppers to guide a newbie where to go. (Not my branch)

Hey guys,
As the second round COAPS came this morning, is there anyone who got into IIT Palakkad Mtech in Design and Automation?
Please respond if anyone got the offer, I'm just searching for my chances.
My gate score is 397 and AIR 560 in aerospace. I am looking for mtech in aerospace or aerospace propulsion from iitB, iitd, iit roorkee, iit varanasi, iit bhilai, iit bhuvaneshwar, iit goa.
What round can I expect an offer
Preparing for GATE ME 2027 and confused between Exergic and ACE Engineering Academy [ online courses (recorded) ].
Looking for honest reviews regarding:
Would appreciate feedback from people who actually used either of them.
Update I did choose IIT Dhanbad, for retain and wait, will wait for further rounds this Sunday.
List your offers guys, why is this sub quiet?
Best Feature, after every exam completion, you can retry your mistake i.e whatever in that exam you have given wrong and unanswered you can attempt which makes your practice much stronger
And many students ignore the visual stamina, as per my experience while giving gate exam i felt the eye strain and felt that i am loosing concentration, as i am not used to constantly glare at white screen that to for 3 hours, so i thought why not practice pyq in gate exam interface
we practice as well as build our visual stamina

Which one is better by keeping some factors in mind like,
8th Pay commission (DVC won)
Location of final posting or transfer (DVC won)
In hand salary difference (DVC Won approx 20k+ during and after training )
NTPC edge over DVC in terms of Organised Colony
Work load or work life balance (DVC won)
PRP is more in NTPC
Allowance is more in NTPC
Promotions are likely to be the same in both
Both are having shift work
In the medical facility, DVC also has tied up with big hospitals in West Bengal and Jharkhand and also in Delhi and Patna with unlimited medical insurance to self as well as depended members
2 days off at DVC after night shift
Same as title.
I am confused.
I got the opportunity to do mtech in materials at IISC benguluru,How will the placements, how's the course work
Mostly I want to work for Rnd in future,
Is Mechanical or some other specialization like design better for Rnd or can i go with materials .
I am 2026 passing out mechanical from top nit.
Placed in psu but not interested much, after sometime I want to shift for co op.
Share your GATE score & COAP offers — let's build a resource for everyone! 📊**
Every year, hundreds of us scramble to figure out — *"Will my score get me into X IIT for Y specialization?"* The frustrating part? There's barely any centralised, reliable data on actual COAP cutoffs and offer trends.
So I built a form to fix that.
🔗 **https://form.jotform.com/261312143543042**
**What it collects:**
- Your GATE paper, score & AIR
- Category (GEN / OBC / EWS / SC / ST / PwD)
- Round-wise COAP offers received (Round 1 to Round 5) — institute, programme, specialization, and status
- Whether you accepted, rejected, or are waitlisted — and why
**Why should you fill it?**
If even 50–100 people share their data, we'll have a real picture of:
✅ Which IITs are offering at what AIR ranges
✅ How offers shift across rounds
✅ Category-wise trends
✅ Which specializations are more accessible
This helps future GATE aspirants — especially those from 2025 and 2026 — make smarter, more informed decisions during counselling.
**It takes less than 3 minutes. Name and email are completely optional.**
Once we get enough responses, I'll compile and share the data publicly after every round completes on this subreddit so everyone benefits.

Please upvote and share this with your GATE WhatsApp groups, college seniors/juniors, and anyone going through COAP right now. The more data we collect, the more useful this becomes for everyone 🙏
Did anyone got this
Did ME in btech and looking forward to go for aerospace. Which of these would be the best option in terms of placements?
No offers in round 1..
I'm identified as GENERAL category, MALE, no EWS, and specifically with 452 score in gate ME..
Where can I spend my next 2 years?
What to choose??
Or should I retain and wait?
If yes, which one should i retain and wait?.
So i have no knowledge of any simulation software like ANSYS ABAQUS MATLAB SIMULINK. I also have only average knowledge of cad. my full time went in gate prep so will it be possible to learn in MTech?
I received offer in systems and control engineering TA from IIT Bombay in the 1st round today. I want to know if they have given the list of students to COAP portal for admission as the interview took place only few days back. I applied for design and manufacturing at iitb.
