This is an update to a thread I made over the weekend. I noted that the machining on the inside of the magwell of a receiver I just bought on Primary Arms was very shoddy. The thread was locked due to the comments becoming personal attacks. I ended up deleting the post because I thought it would be better to give Geissele a chance to complete the customer service process. Geissele has completed its review and determined the shoddy machining is within their acceptable tolerances.

This is a note for people who may be buying lowers that care about paying top dollar for quality machining. The first set of pictures is the lower I just bought. You can see the milling tracks on almost the entire inside magazine well. There is a noticeable amount of removed material in a wavy pattern. I went and looked at some other receivers I have access to for comparison including two Colts, a Geissele GFR, a Hodge, and a SOLGW MK1. None of them look this bad. I’m sure the Geissele will function as intended, but when a company charges a premium for quality and doesn’t deliver, people should be able to make an informed decision if that is where they want to spend their hard earned money.

Don’t you just love the moment you’ve been waiting on for months to get the gun you’ve been waiting for, only to look and everything still be out of stock, or bought only to 2nd hand sell for profit ☺️

In the market for the ravor 1-6 for my 11.5 super duty. I’ve read this is meant for a 14.5 barrel would this still work with my shorty or an I better off just getting the standard MRAD or MOA version.

Hey all. Been waiting on a restock of the SD uppers and got a notification finally. Ordered an 11.5 upper and dropped it off at LGS for muzzle device install and alignment check. LGS called me to come in stating that their alignment rod would not make it down the barrel either coming from breech or bore. Originally they thought it was the MD (Comstock Plan B brake) but they tested it bare muzzle and had the same issue. Odd. I took the upper home and cleaned it well.

Took it to another LGS for re-check/second opinion. Same issue there also. Bare muzzle. Very strange. I’ve opened a ticket with Geissele to start the RMA process. Just putting it out there so that others who are getting their orders filled after this recent restock to check their barrel concentricity even if you’re not planning on running a can.

I attached a somewhat crappy pic down the barrel. The carbon from factory test fire can be seen.

I just got a receiver set from Primary Arms. The lower I received had a really uneven finish, but the kicker was the inside of the magwell. It has some really rough machine work. I’ve never seen it on any of my other Geissele rifles. Is this the new normal? I have an email out to Geissele and am waiting on a response.

quick question, does anyone know how ‘rare’ grey is? I hardly see any of these come up. Didn’t know it was a harder to find color till someone asked me where I found one.

Pretty much all G$ build. Odg receiver set was bought locally last year. All other parts was bought from big G$ sales and last year and this year Shot Show coupons.

Just picked this up and slapped on an optic to shoot it. This thing is amazing. Looking for build recommendations, going with huxwrks 556k but other than that open. Thanks all.
