I'm so shocked. I (female) just got pushed by an older man while I was on my bike. It happened at the crossing between Gent and Ledeberg.
We both had a green light at the same time. I had enough space to turn, but he sped up and just pushed me. Then I got angry, he walked away, but his wife kept saying I was wrong.
I'm so shaken :(
According to the barman at Trollekelder, at least, when I asked for a towel to dry the benches. I'll spare you the condescending back-and-forth.
The thing is that my friends and I are Belgians (from Liège), and we're perfectly happy to sit on a terrace as soon as the rain stops. I actually thought that was a pretty Belgian thing to do.
Anyway, I ended up drying the benches with their dishcloth.
Do people in Ghent really not sit outside after it rains?

I am planning to stay in Ghent for a week and wondering how is the area around the HOGENT campus and stretching up to the train station?
How safe is it for Ghent standards?
Ik ben op zoek naar student(en) die bijles willen geven aan mijn dochter van 17 die begonnen is met de examencommissie (3e graad arbeidsmarktfinaliteit).
De vakken zijn talen (NL, EN, FR), mens & maatschappij en kantoor, onthaal en sales.
Ik wil niet via een groot bureau werken.
Ik had superprof.be gevonden, maar die vragen je nadat je vanalles hebt ingevuld een maandelijks abonnement (bovenop het uurtarief van de lesgever) en zo'n taktieken zijn meteen een grote no-no voor mij.
Dus: iemand suggesties (of die zich zelf geroepen voelt)?

Doordat mijn vrouw niet zo gek is op board games ben ik op zoek naar iemand (m/v/x) om eens wat spellen te spelen. Ik heb de bekendste games op Gamefound en Kickstarter gesteund en mensen die games kennen zoals Nemesis en die ook reeds gespeeld hebben laten maar iets weten. Als je een jaartje ouder bent is dat zeker geen probleem want ikzelf ben 56 jaar. Ik speel dus veel solo maar met twee leer je de manuals sneller en maak je minder fouten.
Thinking about putting in an offer on a house in Ledeberg (more towards the south) and i hear very mixed reviews about the area, but all general claims that “oh yeah it’s Ledeberg so yeah you know” but i have no idea what it means. I liked the house and the street but would love to know a little more about safety, noise,…. Background: I’m 30F and would live there alone.

-group of women is aged 30 -50 years old,
- it is safe to be alone with a group of women (e.g it is not Macht van Gent or places like that or I should state I have never felt safe there as a woman),
-they don't play solely techno.
I am aware of themed nights at venues but more looking for the/a place to go after dinner when friends say let's go do something else. Karaoke is already on this list;). TIA
