I’ve been watching Goofrey’s content online for years and am planning on finally seeing him in person in 2027. Trying to figure out if the early show or late show is better?

I don't know how I got to their site, but I somehow scavenger-hunt-navigated my way to a ticket re-seller called GoTickets.com for the Chicago show. I thought I got there directly from Goofrey's links, but alas. I also didn't check the pricing for their site vs. other sites. Then, for the hat trick, I bought tickets for the Thursday show instead of the Friday show I actually wanted. So that's three mistakes, any one of which I should have avoided or caught during their commission.

I then tried to chat with GoTickets support to get my purchase changed from Thu to Fri - not even to get it refunded or canceled. No soap. An impossibility I was told. All sales are FINAL. So today, out of pure masochistic curiosity, I checked what tickets were still available directly through The Den Theatre. I clicked on a comparable seat and discovered that I had paid about 2.5x face value. If you're not a math person, that's not a good deal. And I can only assume the enormous difference in price goes toward funding GoTickets world-class commitment to unhelpfulness.

So here's my lesson: 1. Buy tickets directly from the venue. 2. Do not buy from a reseller if at all possible (generally good advice for most things). 3. If you are forced to buy from a reseller, don't buy from GoTickets.com. They're wildly overpriced, were completely unwilling to help with a seemingly simple request, and my tickets aren't even due to arrive until the day before the show. So now I get the added excitement of wondering whether the tickets I dramatically overpaid for will even materialize. This is the end of my TED Talk.

My wife and I are big fans. I hope Geoffrey is ok and the rest of the tour is peaceful. The helium comedy club that his Oct. 9 performances were scheduled for is NOT giving refunds or contacting folks who purchased tickets about the cancellation. I only found out via this subreddit and noticed the website now lists a different headliner with nothing about the cancellation. Two tickets were $69, kinda bummed and seems like a shitty business practice (not Geoffrey, the venue). I would love to at least be able to move the tickets to a different date if he reschedules but I was told that is not an option. Anybody else have luck with Helium?

UPDATE: They are providing refunds as well as free comps to the show this weekend if you want to hold onto your tickets for a future reschedule. The person I spoke with today said that whoever I spoke with yesterday was “misinformed”!

that's all man, title of the post is basically it... randomly came across you on reddit like a year ago (got my old account banned for allegedly calling like a dozen ppl trumptards on here recently - though apparently that wasn't ban worthy when i coined that term 6 years ago and used it profusely on here)... and not to fangirl, but you've been one of my favorite comedians since and stand up is one of my true joys in life still lol (you can't touch Stav though... yet).

but just wanted to genuinely say thanks. Been a shit few years and i appreciated not having to think about how i'm too much of a pussy to kill myself for a few hours... (jk - depression is no joke.. anyone who's feeling that way can DM me (or goofrey - he said i could say that) if you're thinking those thoughts.... or plz text/call 988 (suicide hotline).. really, no judgement here (but not really about the goofrey DM.. i don't know him and he didn't tell me i could say to DM him)

also, your openers tn were solid af but esp. tyler... I'm from Michigan so maybe i'm biased, but nobody can touch the midwest baby!!! anyway, i'm rambling due to a wild mixture of coke/sleep deprivation/gin/anxiety/depression and thoughts of how disgusted that i am with my life choices that i just jack kerouac'd this post in 30 seconds so i can rip another line and hit send befoer thinking too much but yeah, you dudes are the shit... just thanks for the break from the shitty shit that is life. anyway, I only had cc tn bc im an adult who was raised by children and i don't know how to do adult things like manage my expenses but i'll follow up. i need one of those hoodies.
