Putting together my first Glock, any better alternatives at a similar price to this Brownells slide assembly?

I am deciding to dip my toes into the Glock world, and for my first gun I decided to put together a G19 from Gen 3 parts. I just ordered a Get Grips pistol frame with OEM internals, which seem to be a very popular frame, and am now looking for a slide assembly

With discount code and shipping, this comes to $253, which seems like a good price.

My main question would be if this sub has other recommendations for a Gen 3 G19 slide. For example, how would this compare to something like a PSA Dagger upper assembly? Or an upper from a Ruger RXM?

It must be milled for an optic, and a threaded barrel is not required, as I intend to carry this as much as I do shoot it. A comp is nice, but also not required

Might sell my Glocks

I'm wondering what the reactions to this will be. I have five Glocks. They are all G3, except for a 43XMOS that my son got for me when he lived in Arizona. All totally legal, straight up stuff. I like them a lot. Totally reliable. I shoot the 19 pretty well. Not a great shot overall, but good enough I think. I also really like the 26. Significantly more than the 43X. But that's been hashed out in a separate forum many times. The reason for my thoughts is simply this. The prices here are insane for used Glocks. Way more than they worth. Also I don't need five. I actually need two. There are many new guns on the roster that offer at least as much, and probably more. I am loath to give Sig any money but must admit that the 365 is probably better than my 43X. I don't shoot that one particularly well. If I keep my Glocks, when I renew my CCW early next year, I will substitute the 26 for the 43X on my permit. I shoot the 26 better and it is much more pleasant to shoot as well. It's concealable in my opinion. But the Smith & Wesson M&P 2 compact doesn't give up much if anything compared to the G3 Glock 19. And the 365 doesn't give up anything to the 43X. At least not as I can tell. So tear it up, down me, whatever you will. Just thinking along those lines at the moment.

Edited to add: I am not selling anything here at all. I won't respond to anybody asking to buy mine. That's an absolute. This is just for discussion.

G19 Gen 6 Comp Barrel

Happy Freedom Day!

To celebrate i bought a new G19 Gen 6 with blue label. I am looking for a Gen 6 version of the barrel pictured below. Looking for a little recoil mitigation while still being able to carry and not have to buy all new holsters. Was told the pictured one would not fit a Gen 6.

I missed-out on getting a gen 5 19COA, so now I have two gen 6 versions. I shoot the modified one much better.

Modded 19: JohnnyGlocks combat trigger, Radian RJ/AB, SLR EDC magwell, with a GS 15lb tungsten RSA.

New favorite light

This Olight PL X is almost perfect, I have exclusively bought streamlights and decided to try this out. Out performs my streamlights, brighter, more modes, slimmer and cheaper. It would be perfect if it didn’t need to get charged via usb-c, if it had a back up replaceable battery it would be king.

Custom holsters to support non-standard flashlight?

I have a G19 Gen 5 MOS with an optic and a weapon light.

Before the “if you carry a flashlight you’re a poser” or “it’s a gimmick, you don’t need it” comments start, just downvote like you were already planning to and keep scrolling. 😂

I’m looking for a custom holster and have considered either making one myself out of Kydex or having one made in leather.

I know I can’t be the only person running a lesser known weapon light. It’s my personal preference, and I’d like to be able to carry the pistol with my preferred setup.

For those of you who have gone the custom route, who made your holster? Any recommendations for companies or individuals willing to mold around less common lights?

Winchesters fried my PLX?

Shot Winchesters yesterday and this happened to my PLX light. Dude at Academy said it’s happened to him and he used gun cleaner. Yeah well, it looks the same. I got my TLR-7x somewhat looking better. But the PLX is looking like 💩. This happen to anyone else? This is on my G19.6 and the Streamlight is on my Shield X.

UPDATE: Olight is sending me a new one. It’s a problem with the seal and not enough of a barrier at the top of the light. Apparently a known problem when on certain gun manufacturers and certain ammo rating. Hence why I could clean the Streamlight. The PLX is burned on the inside of the lens.

So for you trolls in the comments, there’s the real answer. Hope this helps others with a PLX and encounter this.

Anyone AIWB a 19X MOS? I need holster recommendations

Currently have the X300-A for light and will soon have a Leupold Delta Point Pro for sight, just waiting on mounting plate.

I have seen some great reviews of the Tier1 Axis Elite, saying the coverage of the threaded barrel is great and zero printing. Anyone run this one?

Daily carry

Been daily carrying this Fowland special for 10+ years. Still love it and even after trying many other options, I never have found anything I like as much or trust as much.
